Unfortunately, a situation came up lately where one poster on this forum began using another poster's birth chart to try and substantiate some pretty harsh criticism.

Please, in the interest of engendering trust and functionality here, let's not ever tolerate the rough handling of one another's birth information.

If someone persists in doing so, contrary to the express wishes of moderators, then this whole environment becomes troubled. Speaking for myself, I will not divulge my birth data until I can rest assured that no one here will use the information maliciously. Or, if they repeatedly do so, banning will go into effect.

As things stand I do not have that assurance but I hope that in stating my case, in the hopes of defending another who's been subjected to what I consider abuse, I hope the situation can be resolved.

No offense intended here for anyone, sincerely.

I agree!

I didn't want to go behind someone's back "tattling" on them, it just didn't feel right.

By articulating the problem, I hope it can just be resolved and put behind us. I'm not out to get anyone.

LL is a very upfront and direct place. Any community has to discuss things as we are people and people are complicated and have things that need to be worked out. Faith, you were right in bringing this out as all things must be discussed in any community, family or friendship! Things not discussed and left to ferment just explode anyway, so there is not way around it than to be up front imo

You said it well. Let the community decide what is and is not acceptable. If what is acceptable to the community is not acceptable to me, well, we are not a good match, so I can always just leave, no hard feelings.

An environment of free and open exchange of ideas and concepts is bound to cause some level of disagreement. However, the constant bickering over who is right and who is wrong over the most subjective of matters is annoying.

These nasty disputes are akin to weeds propagating to impinge on the well ordered flower garden that symbolizes learning and intellectual stimulation.
