With Progressions, do you take House into account or just sign?With Transits, I think you take house into consideration. With transits, it is which planet touches other planets AND house, too, right? Thanks so much Ace Astrologer Buddies! ------------------

With transits I definitely take house and planets into account. I think with transits I really notice tplanets to nplanets more, EXCEPT with outer planets. I ALWAYS notice when Uranus hits a house cusp since inevitably some crazy reversal happens with regards to the house matters during that time. With progressions it's been my experience that I notice sign change more than house change, HOWEVER, it is kind of hard for me to tell because most of my progressed planets haven't changed house in awhile (except for the Moon). My sun only recently changed sign within the last year, and I definitely noticed a shift when that happened. IP: Logged |

Yes, definitely, when looking at the natal on its own, factoring them in. The house for the area where the energy will be applied.

I can attest to the crazy reversal, the suddenness of it. The need for change..but as directly related to the house, I didn't notice that for me exactly, but maybe if viewed in a certain light it could be true. For example mine was the DSC, and it was nothing connected to romance. But I did feel the sudden urge to connect with someone who I had never formally met, and I surprised them to an extent, they would never have thought that I would have wanted to get into contact with them. I did that, I went over there, and the relationship was sudden. But it was connecting with a long lost family member, not romantic. But I did shock them, I know that much. Applies, or no?

Lonake-I would say that yes, that probably applies, only because it is the old romance vs. partnership debate (5th vs. 7th house debate). I tend to believe that the 5th house really rules romantic interests more, whereas the 7th can rule long term partnerships or relationships of any kind. It's more of a partnership for a purpose kind of house, IMHO (which marriage is partnership for a purpose if you think about it). DSC also relates to "the other" or the shadow side of you that you might displace or project onto other people, so keep that in mind as well. For you, it sounds like it was someone you kept in shadow at first (since it was someone you hadn't formally met in person and hadn't previously wanted to contact them) and then all of a sudden it was a surprising relationship/partnership brought to light. Don't know if that makes sense or not, but those are my thoughts on it... So my experiences with Uranus hitting house cusps have been this: about 8 years ago when Uranus entered Pisces, with my IC being at 1'Pisces, the girl that I was currently roommates with and expected to be roommates with the following year in college all of a sudden had a change of heart (due to an untrue rumor) and decided not to be roommates with me. It devastated me, as I wondered what it was that I had done, and to be truthful, though she came clean months later, our friendship was never as strong, and of course, we ceased to be roommates (ie, sudden change in living situation). Also during that time I made the decision to go to grad school in another state, which changed my living situation drastically. Just last year Uranus hit my 5th house cusp in Aries, bringing in a certain romantic interest, but retrograded back into Pisces during which we muddled through, and certain truths (and untruths) came to light (thank you Pisces), so by the time that it got back to my 5th house cusp, that guy was out of the picture and all of a sudden a new romantic interest appeared out of nowhere. Unfortunately I met him during Mars retrograde (Mars rules my 5th), and just as soon as Mars went direct again (just this last week), he dropped off the face of the earth too. HOWEVER, both of these guys have taught me to enjoy my freedom and the boundaries between myself and others in romantic relationships (Uranus), so I'm currently enjoying my sudden new found freedom. Kinda nice honestly.  I'm tired of catering to everyone else. I do it enough in my job. IP: Logged |

Yes I like that, partnership with a purpose. I agree, it does stand for the other....... Well yes, in the end it was me starting a sudden relationship w.someone, no matter what the specifics entail, so yes I would agree w.your assessment. And yes I see my 5th strongly in my love life. BTW my DSC is Aqua. Might have added to it, but maybe not.Would you equate the untrue rumors to the Pisces on the IC? And then the relationship wasn't as strong cos there was deceit (pisces) involved? "thank you Pisces"

OK I haven't even paid attn to house cusp conj w.t.Uranus, but I have w.Pluto (which was really obvious) so that is something to look into. I really liked hearing your interp of your 5th/Mars

of course. sign is the style in which a planet expresses itself, house is where the energy is expressed-the sign of that house is the energy that occurs within that houses endeavors. when a transiting planet lands on on or near the degree of a natal planet in a certain house, you have an outcome. Yup (!)
Yeeeeaaaahhh... Good ol' Pisces and bringing crap to light. Gotta love it. Also, with Uranus recently hitting my 5th house cusp (and the Uranus retrograde guy), I had tNeptune opposing my Venus/MC/Sun at the same time, so yeah- I was having a very hard time distinguishing just what the crap was going on. Lots of gray areas. Currently I'm really interested to see what kinds of unique romantic interests Uranus continues to bring to me as he traverses my 5th house. The 2nd guy who appeared (the one that was when Uranus was direct, but Mars was retro) was TOTALLY different than the usual 'type' that I've been into in the past. He was far more artsy/creative/spiritual (Hey! Artsy/creative is 5th house ruled too) than anyone else I had ever dated. Most of the guys I've dated in the past were super ambitious/money focused (which is funny, because my personality is the opposite of that). I think after the last guy (during the Uranus retro/Neptune opp Venus period) I am just kind of 'done' with that type. They actually annoy the hell out of me now because I've had so many bad experiences with them and I can spot them a mile away, so I stay away. quote:

Pluto is a little different to me when it hits house cusp, only because I can seemingly feel the shift, but it is far more gradual and incremental. It just takes longer to learn the lessons because it moves so slow. It is kind of like an overview tying little lessons together over time (if that makes sense). When Pluto moved into my 2nd house (just a few years ago), it also trined my Venus/MC/Sun and it just seemed like I was learning more deeply, but learning very slowly. quote:

Thanks! You know- honestly, I don't even keep a journal. I just tend to be able to tie things together really easily in my head and so when I notice certain things are happening in my life and they seem to have a theme I go take a look at the transits and what is going on. THAT'S when I'll tie a planet to the transit that is going on at the time. I (used to) have a really good memory (Virgo elephant memory), but it seems to have deteriorated a bit since my sun progressed into Libra. Got too many other things going on in my head at once. lol. Well yes, t.Neptune does make sense in retrospect because of the opp, coming in from the outside.
Do you know that I have Uranus natally in the 5th
It's in a different sign tho..in Aries, well Aries is v.masculine. And Uranus is abrupt. There is *no* marker for deceit here I can tell you that much (!) haha. Yes I attract creative types as well. But sometimes they want to make you a part of their creation. I learned the hard way that they tend to want to put their experience of you in their creative work. My Pluto did a double take, like,  what?! A *lot* of people would like that but I was mortified. I've dated a few artsy types, one of them put his nude painting of me in our university Art Gallery. Uranus doesn't even care (!) Cos it gets so caught up in the excitement. That's something it has in common w.Aries, there's something v.exuberant here. Well the new men sound v.interesting to say the least. Also, Aries likes to put things into motion, get the ball rolling, take control, and Uranus is sudden. So if they want you, they're not gonna waste any time. They will not leave you unclear as to their aims. That is one good thing about this placement. I have mine in an honest sign as well. (Thank you LORD) lol They've been nothing if not honest 
OK Yes you are lucky cos my memory for past events in my life, anything that was not dramatic on a personal level related to friends/family, etc., is *not* good.IP: Logged |

Nice! My natal Uranus is in Sagittarius in the 1st, so yeah... I understand the dislike of deceit. My natal Uranus squares my Venus/Sun/MC so it does give me shades of the Uranus flair for independence and originality in my romantic relationships as well. quote:

What's funny to me was that this guy that I was talking about liked to be *ahem* au naturale himself. I respected him for being up front about it. The Virgo in me was going: "Ok... What am I going to do if he asks ME to do that?" lol. And my natal Uranus in the first was like: "Eh... It'll be fine." quote:

I forget which sign you are Lonake... Are you a water or air sign? It's always been my experience that water and air signs have memories like sieves. With Mercury in Virgo ruling my Sun in Virgo, I just have the unfortunate ability to remember every damn detail that comes my way (until recently when my Sun progressed into Libra, and now it feels like I can't remember ANYTHING). It's funny because I used to be able to remember things that no one else could remember, and everyone would look at me like I was crazy when I would remember something really really minor from years prior. It's annoying too when I remember meeting someone and they don't remember me. IP: Logged |
