Soooooo! I was looking just now at Ayrton Senna's chart and me and him share some placements! Like Aries Sun, Aries on the 3rd house cusp, POF in the 3rd... Okay, okay, maybe it's not such a big deal but I was sorta in love with him when I was little and I think driving a race car is pretty damn cool lol! So obviously when I saw those placements, I had to brag lol.
Erm, I know I will never just as much touch a race car (Aries Mars in the 3rd opp Pluto with a death wish much?!?), but I doooooo like speed and I sometimes hit the highway just to spin my wheels really hard! Also, my father and my grandfather were both driving motorcycles at contests (how bada$$ is thaaaat lol), so it's in my blood lol.
But I also like to cruize with me shades on, hair all loose and some nice music too!

But, ontopic now! Who's your favorite and what in his chart do you think was responsible for this?
I'll post Ayrton's, RIP.

Whatever you give to a woman, she will make it GREATER. Give her SPERM, she will give you a BABY. Give her a HOUSE, she will give you a HOME. Give her GROCERIES, she will give you a MEAL. Give her LOVE, and she will give you her HEART! She multiplies and enlarges what she is given. So, if you give her CR@P, be prepared to receive a ton of SH!T!

Ayrton RIP

I had the pleasure of shaking his hand and getting an autograph at Silverstone when he was alive.

I race cars myself.

It's such a pleasure talking to a pretty girl who enjoys driving.

As requested, here is my chart.

As you can see, I share Sun Square Jupiter with Ayrton. We are prone to going to excessive lengths of overdoing everything. Breaking records and cutting the edge is just natural. If you watch the videos of Ayrton coming out of the sharp right in Monaco onto the tunnel straight, you'll see that his rear tire is barely 1 cm from the barricade in order to carry as much speed as possible into the straightaway. Unfortunately, Imola is a very bumpy track, and still is. Too much journeying over the concrete lips at the grass verges brought too much abuse to the Williams car's suspension. The front suspension shaft snapped and the steering column collapsed. There was zero steering to the car and it went straight full force into the concrete wall. It was certainly not driver error on Ayrton's part. Williams knew Ayrton's driving style but neglected to modify the suspension for fear of losing speed and not winning. The fact of the matter was that Ayrton would have won in any car.

I don't follow race car driving so can't comment on that, however.....
For the Mr. you posted,
Aries on cusp on H3, Mars placed in Aqua H1 opp Uranus, as to what 1st stands out.
Sun in Aries sq Jupiter strikes me next.

I just love Francois Cevert, even though I'm only familiar with him through old film clips and articles, as he was before my time.

Such a gorgeous guy...and FRENCH :-).

Sadly, was killed in a very gruesome accident in 1973.

I'm also really touched by his friendship with Jackie Stewart.

Not sure what it is in his chart that draws me, but there's just "something about him".

He was a Pisces and definitely had those "Pisces eyes" that a lot of Piscean people seem to have.

True! I stopped watching car races after he died because it just wasn't the same. I apreciate Shumy because he's very good, but for me Ayrton was irreplaceable. And something always rubbed me the wrong way about Shumy. I can see now looking at his chart we have a lot of squares. Just never really liked the guy, though he is a legend.

Awww, I'm sorry, I didn't know he was your favorite too! Well, at least you touched him! MY Ayrton! LOL, I was 11 when he died, but boy did I have a severe case of puppy love lol!

Wooohooo! I have Sun trine Jupiter. In my case it's from the 2nd to the 10th (like you, just switch the planets lol), Ayrton has Jup in the 11th. I have a lot in common with Ayrton re: chart, even the house cusps are the same, except for Asc/DC.
Noticed what Lonake said too. Also noticed both Ayrton and Shumy had a planet exactly conjunct their MC! And in both cases it was their 2nd house ruler!! Also, Cap seems to be high demand with race car drivers! You're a Cap, so is Shumy, Ayrton was Cap Moon and Fangio is Cap MC (I'm Cap Asc).

Whoaaaa! We need more charts lol!

I can't believe your enthusiasm about cars. I can feel the whole atmosphere beaming

Both my mother and my wife were/are car nuts too. My mother drove an old school BMW M6, also known as the M 635CSi. My wife drives an upgraded AMG SL55 (the standard car has about 495 hp and it's upgraded to about 525 hp). When she was younger and single, she was stopped by cops doing 175 kmh in a zone with a 55 kmh speed limit in a Ford Mustang (I assume you prefer to operate in metric).

Anyway, I just wanted to make it clear that I have limited open wheel experience. All my experience is a couple of laps in a Formula BMW at Donington Park, and even then it was tough getting used to the clutch and I stalled in the pits twice. After that, I decided that I'm not cut out for open wheel. So, forget about Formula Ford or Formula 3000. Don't even mention Formula Uno, because only immortals touch those cars. I do fantasize of screaming throttle wide open at Monaco, especially in the tunnel, but the cops are all over.

I've been partial to Porsche and Mercedes throughout my life. I used to own a 911 GT3 and I drove amateur Porsche Cup. My only true race track car was a modified 3.0 litre 911 Turbo. I gave that upw hen I became a family man and decided that I no longer wanted to kill myself. I had only one Ferrari, a Mondial T Cabriolet, but it was too tame to be much of a sports car, let alone a race car.

I have visited many tracks around the world and have driven on a few of them. I like the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife. I visit there whenever I can, and my fastest around that track (and its terribly slow) is about 10 minutes 15 seconds in a BMW M3. I'm sure the car is capable of 8:30 in capable hands and driven by a dare devil. I wanted to go home to my family

My favourite track is the Circuit de la Sarthe at Le Mans. I've seen Porsche 917s and Bentley Speed 8s doing almost 390 kmh down the Mulsanne Straight, and I was lucky enough to be on the sides witnessing such speed.

These days, apart from the SL55, I don't own very fast cars anymore. They are mostly luxury cruisers. I had an Aston DB9 Volante, but it was a headache (all sorts of rubbish issues) and I managed to get rid of it. Its now a Mercedes household because these cars just start up and drive to the supermarket without drama.

Unfortunately, my parents never allowed me close to a motorcycle, so I've never owned one. I just rode pillion on my friends' bikes. I am however crazy on a racing bicycle, having done insane speeds down mountains

Hope you enjoyed my little report

LOVE Ayrton Senna! Handsome man too.
RIP.

Lucky you, YTA for meeting him. I was 5 when he died. It was such a gloomy week: two deaths in one week ...
It was bad fortune for him to be with Williams at the time with the new restrictions, all other teams were 2 years ahead of them. Not sure about the specifics of the accident but I always knew it was mechanical failure and not driver error. It was gruesome to see racing back in the day, how they keep driving even after accidents, those guys got cojones hmm ...

His Aries way of driving always shocked my Libra side: "Let me pass or we both die." :-p

I notice quite a lot of F1 drivers have a lot of Merc or Cap in their charts, careful planning and multi tasking is a must. Jenson Button (Cap) is very gentle with his car and tires.

pandacake,

Are you British?

Silverstone is only about an hour and a half from Woking, McLaren's headquarters. There was a lot of testing on the McLaren Honda MP4/4 car at Silverstone. It was a monster of a V6 Turbo and the engine was small and sat low in the chassis. This was in 1988 and McLaren walked away with everything that season with Senna and Alain Prost (even though they couldn't stand each other). It was in the pits at Silverstone that I casually met both Senna and Prost, as well as Gordon Murray (designer of the McLaren F1 supercar), Ron Dennis and Steve Nichols. The 1.5 litre car made almost 700 horsepower!

Some information about the incident and the breakage of the steering column.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Ayrton_Senna

"The Williams team was entangled for many years in a court case with Italian prosecutors over manslaughter charges, ending in a guilty verdict for Patrick Head. The Italian Court of Appeal, on April 13, 2007, stated the following in the verdict numbered 15050: "It has been determined that the accident was caused by a steering column failure. This failure was caused by badly designed and badly executed modifications. The responsibility of this falls on Patrick Head, culpable of omitted control". The initial trial in 1997 resulted in acquittals after the judge ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove its case, but a retrial was ordered by Italy's highest court.[11] Patrick Head was not arrested as the sentence was backdated to the time of the crash, 1 May 1994. The limitation under Italian law for culpable homicide was 7 years and 6 months, and the verdict was pronounced 13 years after the accident.[12]

The charges focused on the car's steering column, which was found to have sheared off at a point where a modification had been made. The prosecution charged that the column had failed causing the accident, and Williams contended that it had failed on impact. Senna did not like the position of the steering wheel relative to his seating position and had asked for it to be changed. Patrick Head and Adrian Newey agreed to Senna's request to lengthen the FW16's steering column, but there was no time to manufacture a longer steering shaft. The existing shaft was instead cut, extended with a smaller-diameter piece of tubing and welded together with reinforcing plates.

A 600-page technical report was submitted by Bologna University under Professor of Engineering Enrico Lorenzini and his team of specialists. The report concluded that fatigue cracks had developed through most of the steering column at the point where it had broken.[13] Lorenzini stated: "It had been badly welded together about a third of the way down and couldn't stand the strain of the race. We discovered scratches on the crack in the steering rod. It seemed like the job had been done in a hurry but I can't say how long before the race. Someone had tried to smooth over the join following the welding. I have never seen anything like it. I believe the rod was faulty and probably cracked even during the warm-up. Moments before the crash only a tiny piece was left connected and therefore the car didn't respond in the bend."[14]

An analysis of the onboard camera video was submitted by Cineca, which tracked the movement of the steering wheel during the race. Having rotated in a fixed arc during the previous laps, during the final seconds a yellow button on the wheel moved several centimetres away from its normal trajectory, indicating a faulty steering column.[15] Williams introduced its own video to prove the movement was normal in which David Coulthard manhandled an FW16B steering wheel, the effort required to deflect the wheel termed as "quite considerable". Coulthard's testimony stood in contradiction to that of Michele Alboreto, who testified that the steering wheel movement was abnormal.[16]"

My Jupiter is in Aries. My Sun and Mars are in Capricorn.

Senna's Sun is in Aries and his Jupiter is in Capricorn.

Schumacher's Sun is in Capricorn. As with Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton(!).

Just saying.

YTA,
don't have much time right now but just wanted to say after reading your "report" lol I put quite a couple of things on my bucket list! Have to say I am really impressed and a bit jealous too! I actually only started driving 2 years ago (was actually terrified of it and considered myself a lowsy driver) though I had a licence since it was legally possible and I drive a small, not so powerful city car, but boy does it have nerve lol. It's a Suzuki, my first car - right now I can't afford a more sophisticated or powerful one, I had to be practical about it, but even so, her speed limit (it's a SHE, I even named her lol) is 150 kmh but I managed to get her to 180! Ofc, I always drive faster than the speed limit. Didn't get a ticket yet and hope I won't either hehe! Has quite few horses so the pretty little thing was almost like about to take off, but the adrenaaaaaaaaline! OMG! I can only imagine what it would be like to ride a car with 400 kmh!!! I swear I am gonna do it before I die! It's a must! Actually, the biggest thing I regret about breaking up with my ex is that I never got to ride his motorcycle! We broke up at the end of winter and it wasn't motorcycle season and damn I wanna do it so badly lol! hehehe
I think with my chart I should've been a race car driver for sure!
I can still be an amatour though, no? When/how did you start? Teach me, master! Pleaaaaaase!!!

Professor Sidney Watkins, a world-renowned neurosurgeon, Formula One Safety Delegate and Medical Delegate, and the head of the Formula One on-track medical team, performed the on-site tracheotomy on Ayrton Senna.[2]

Watkins later reported:

He looked serene. I raised his eyelids and it was clear from his pupils that he had a massive brain injury. We lifted him from the cockpit and laid him on the ground. As we did, he sighed and, although I am not religious, I felt his spirit depart at that moment.

.............
Speechless. It still gets to me even after all those years.

YTA that must be surreal! Awesome! How I wish I could've been there.

Not British, I'm Belgian, we have Francorchamps and uhm ... that's it really.:-)

Thank you for the quote/link. I remember Williams indeed claimed that the steering column broke off due to impact of the crash, but no one really knew the cause for the colllision, even claimed it must've been driver error ... I can't believe they didn't weld it right, I don't dear to imagine how he must've felt when the car didn't respond. Just very sad.

Yup lots of Cappies in F1 nowadays. At first I never would've thought Hamilton would be a Capricorn, maybe Aries, but there you go.:-)
I wonder what the synastry of Hamilton and Massa is, they always crash haha.

Hahahaha PandaCakes,

Felipe Massa is a Taurus Sun and Capricorn Moon

I have driven Spa Francochamps twice It's only about 100 km from Brussels, but I got there both instances from Germany instead of from France. Only about 60 km or so from Cologne. In my view, Spa Francochamps is one of three most prestigious race tracks in the world! [my other two being Monza and Hockenheim]

The start/finish line at Spa is superceded by this wicked steep uphill left-right-left chicane corner called Eau Rouge that you need to go full throttle in order to carry speed on to the long straightaway. The problem is that the rear end of a tail happy oversteering powerful car and an incline chicane don't mix. The rest of the track is super high speed and downright scary because you are on the accelerator most of the time. A mistake and you end up in a tailspin

I am a cyclist, and cyling in Belgian is everything, like baseball in America. I like the Ardennes. There is a famous bike ride from Liege to Bastogne and back to Liege that I enjoy Eddy Merckx is a Gemini

Oh wow! You sure travel a lot, YTA! What exactly do you do for a living? (Cap favorite q lol)
The police... hmmm... I try not to mess with them either. I am usually a gentle, polite driver (also have Venus in the 3rd - probably why I love driving so much), but when the road is clear I can't help myself.
When I bought my car I was actually glad it's not fast because I knew I wouldn't resist it and to be honest, I was very scared of car accidents. My chart makes me prone to them (it doesn't help that the ruler of the 8th is in the mix as well..)

You can have fun in any car It's not just the accelerator pedal. Anyone can just step on the gas. It doesn't take skill.

A good driver knows how the car is interacting with the road, when to brake and when not to brake, and how to control the car over different terrain.

A good driver knows how to anticipate obstacles coming up, when to slow down and when to mash on the gas pedal.

I'm a banker by profession.
