Aha, makes sense. Mercury is square Pluto in the 8th H. Although I must say that my attention span isn't the best, so multi-tasking can only last for so long, Sagittarius Ascendant here with Jupiter in Gemini.

Hmmm... what do you all think of how a Mercury Sextile Pluto would play into this?

I've never been good at multi-tasking, maybe for the same reasons I see others with Virgo/Scorpio influences are saying, sort of feels like bad pressure. Or when there's a small mistake we're hard on ourselves, so we narrow our focus.

Perhaps a Scorpio Stellium in the 6th House tends to wear on the nerves.

Also, sometimes I think my Cancer Moon wants to slow down to digest my feelings, but in a weird way, my mind is still recording mental impressions, and is able to recall them and respond to them later. So that's a form of multi-tasking which may not be as obvious.

Another example is whenever I play a trivia game, I know so many answers without the slightest idea of HOW I know them. As if I've learned or retained information even if I'm not consciously focused on learning or retaining.

And that too is a form of multi-tasking. Interesting, isn't it?

She also reads multiple books at the same time and can't seem to finish one book all the way through often. She has a tendency to be scattered with her physical energy - she's willing to work out non-stop some weeks, and then sit and do nothing others. She has the worst time organizing for parties and BBQs too... she's always running around non-stop and complaining about frazzled nerves as she's trying to do EVERYthing, yet she seems to genuinely love throwing them anyway. She's a trip, I love her.

I usually have a very easy time doing multiple things at once. Pluto in trine with my Mars gives it a boost of feral energy. I usually am extremely strong in forcing myself to go through with difficult physical activity throughout the days if I have too (like not resting much/working out a lot).

I second that even as I'm typing this I have two internet browsers open.

One browser has lindaland the other one I'm viewing my email.

I seldom use my desktop anymore, but when I do I use all 3 monitors and I have multiple applications open.

On my 17 inch laptop, its big enough to have enough space for two things running at a time.

Yeah, that's what I mean. On the one hand it's good to multi-task, on the other hand, being able to focus on a singularity thru to the end is just as important.

Does anyone find that it's difficult for those two types of people, say a Gemini sort and a Scorpio sort, are not usually seen hanging around much together because they have such different ways to going about it?

Any other experiences out there with planetary energies best or worse at multi-tasking?

I have tons of mutable energy- 6 planets, but I am fairly balanced in the multi-tasking/focusing on one thing at a time arena. Honestly, I used to have an incredibly laser like focus when I was younger, but it seems that since my sun has progressed into Libra I feel much more scattered (though it has become easier for me to talk to air signs in general, since they tend to jump from one topic to the next, like I now seem to do).

I also tend to read multiple books at the same time, but I do usually finish them. I don't think that's necessarily a symptom of being 'scattered.' The only reason I read several at a time is because I will get tired of the tone of one (the tone may be dark and I'm really in more of a lighter mood at the moment) and so I'll switch to a different one, but I almost always finish the books if I'm really interested in them. Of course, I also read fairly large books and non-fiction at that, so it's easy to get bogged down in details and want something a bit lighter and a quicker read.

I will say that it can be hard for me sometimes to 'get' the fixed sign mentality of going about things JUST THIS WAY MUST NOT DEVIATE FROM THE PLAN MUST FOCUS ON THIS ONE THING! If something unexpected changes the plans or the way things are, I change my plan accordingly. It is difficult for me to understand why fixed signs sometimes just keep going on exactly the same when it is now apparent that it is not going to end well because XYZ changed. However, I have always had many fixed sign friends (Leos, Aquas, and Scorpios usually) and maybe it is because we balance each other out? I don't really know.
