Oh and as for my favorite aspects? It's so hard to choose!! There are soooo many potentially awesome aspects to be had.
Although a few of my personal favorites are...
Mars trine Venus (Effortless, heart-melting attraction. Very sweet. Stuff like flirting, physical activity, cooperative endeavors, and artistic enthusiasms are in-sync and harmonious. The chemistry just flows. These two would make excellent dance partners!.)
Mars conjunct Venus (Extremely intense attraction. Lots of tenderness and passion. Also good for mutual creative expression.)
Mars opposite Venus (Strong, magnetic attraction. There’s a playful, flirty, turn-taking thing going on here. This is a good balancing aspect, where each partner confronts and provides the other with what they need, and possibly lack. It‘s give and take.)
Moon trine Moon (being emotionally in tune with each other. Feeling safe and secure together, and free to be your authentic vulnerable self with the other person. Trusting and confiding in each other.)
Moon trine/sextile Mars (Very hot! Raw and primal, but also comforting.)
Mercury trine Mercury, or Mercury conjunct Mercury (Communication is key in long lasting relationships. It keeps friendship alive and keeps you interested in each other.)
Sun conjunct Venus (Adoration and affection. This is a very loving, heartfelt connection. These people like each other just because.)
Jupiter trine/sextile Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, or Venus (These are very positive and happy connections. You put a smile on each others faces, and enjoy just being together and kidding around. Lots of laughter.)
Pluto trine/sextile Sun, Moon, Venus or Mars (Steamy chemistry, and intense devotion. Your want to know the other person inside and out. Intimately.)
Uranus trine/sextile Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars or Jupiter (Makes life interesting, and makes people appreciate each others ‘freaky’ or bizarre sides. You find each other fascinating, and are intellectually stimulated by each other.)
Jupiter trine/sextile Jupiter. Jupiter sextile/trine Saturn. And Saturn sextile/trine Saturn (With these aspects you agree about the ‘big’ things in life. Like what culture to live in, what belief system to have, what life direction you want, and what is reasonable/practical and ethical/morel for the two of you as a couple).
Asc/Dsc conjunct/sextile/trine Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter. (Easy, natural ability to interact and get along on a day to day basis. Liking each others demeanor.)
Any important personal planet or point conjunct or oppose the VERTEX (Makes the relationship feel fated and meaningful… Something you’ve always longed for is coming into reality, and nothing will be the same again.)
Neptune making soft aspects to Venus or Mars (Very sweet and romantic. You have compassion for each other and can feel like your wondering around in a idyllic dream world together.)
Having someone’s Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, or Jupiter aspect my 1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th, 8th and 11th house rulers (especially my 5th, 7th and 8th in romantic relationships).
ON ANOTHER NOTE: In theory Sun/Sun and Sun/ Moon sextile/trine aspects are also awesome.
However, in my case I’ve got Sun in Capricorn and Moon in Cancer (both feminine signs), and I’ve noticed that I always fall hardest for guys with masculine Sun signs. I especially fall for Aries and Sagittarius guys, and had a thing for this one Gemini.
Because of this tendency I’ve never actually had any Sun/Sun or Sun/Moon trines or sextiles in romance. I’ve had squares though. They’re potent but can be difficult. Oh well, due to my taste in men I’ll probably never have Sun/Sun or Sun/Moon sextiles or trines in my love synastry.
That’s why I listed Moon/Moon, and Sun/Venus as some of my top favorites…. I may love masculine Suns, but I do love a good water Moon with that to go with my Cancer Moon… And a guy with a Sagittarius or Aries Sun could have their Sun conjunct or trine my Sagittarius Venus. In the case of Aries it’d be trine my Venus but square my Moon. But squares do generate lots of chemistry, and can be managed as long as they are balanced by other things in the synastry.
Catharine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas, for example, have their Libra Suns conjunct but both are square his Capricorn Moon, which is conjunct her Capricorn Mars. Despite a big age difference they have been together for quite a while now. They have a Sun/Moon square but it’s balanced out by their Libra Sun/Sun and Capricorn Mars/Moon conjunctions. Squares don't doom a relationship, especially if other synastry compensates for them.
I can handle a few squares if it means I can have the type of guy I’m most attracted to. And if the squares are balanced out but other soft aspects in the synastry.
Sun/Sun and Sun/Moon could be good in friendships for me, though not really for romance. Considering my track record, I’m just not likely to fall in love with another feminine Sun sign. I’m not ruling it out, just saying that it’s unlikely given my taste.
DIFFERENT SYNASTRY WORKS FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE…
Sorry, I couldn’t narrow it down to just a few aspects. It’s honestly hard to pick favorites when I like so many aspects.
