Let's imagine someone was born on Mars and that his/her natal chart was calculated from a Martian perspective, so let's exclude Mars from the chart and include Earth. Now, my question is - what kind of energy would Earth bring to the table? What would it stand for? Would it be a malefic or a benefic? Which sun sign would it rule? IP: Logged |

Earth would represent the moon as earth is our mother planet.Martian satellites Phobos and Deimos would represent mars IP: Logged |

Mars would probably have its own set of zodiac signs different from ours. Earth would rule on of them. I just don't know what.IP: Logged |

Makes sense. But, would it also be possible for Earth to represent something completely different? And I was wondering about Phobos and Deimos, too. Wouldn't their meaning be more "moon-like" to our hypothetical Martian? IP: Logged |

Exactly! If we considered Earth to be one of the planets of zodiac, what would it be like? How would Earth's position affect lives of "creatures" on other planets? Let's say that one day people form colonies on other planets. What would their natal charts look like? IP: Logged |

That's a good question. I suppose the entire zodiac would have to be redone, not only for Mars but for every other planet people are born on. I'm not sure that will be necessary until we colonize Mars but it would certainly be interesting to know how it would play out. People born on Mars would probably be very different, although not as different as people born in another solar system would be. It messes with my mind to think about it honestly. IP: Logged |

Earth would probably take Venus's place with a strong rulership over Taurus. Venus will then stand in for what Mars used to represent.IP: Logged |

I agree with the above post in that the Earth would take over rulership of Taurus, but I think that Venus would remain ruler of only Libra at that point. One of the Martian moons would probably take rulership of Cancer and act similarly to our Moon, and the other would probably take rulership of Aries and act in the same way as Mars.IP: Logged |

I believe that for people who were living on mars, the Earth's energy would have been experienced as an energy of duality. I believe that where Earth exists in the astrology of others in the solar system, the energy of duality is represented. For us also, Earth represents duality and this is our main experience being here. [addition] This energy of duality cannot be escaped as it is innate to our planet. It cannot be escaped but it can be embraced by deciding which side you choose to battle. IP: Logged |

^ what kind of duality ? light and dark ? isnt it present in everything ?Earth would have a nurturing vibe IMO. Benefic, malefic, it depends. It would rule Taurus. IP: Logged |

Hm...an interesting point of view. Still, other planets also possess dual energies, depending on how we use them. IP: Logged |

You might have a point there. The Earth feels rather Taurus-like, with all that materialism, self-indulgence and love of beauty. IP: Logged |

I think Earth would represent plenty & comforts (possibly motherhood) and would be similar to Taurus. But I think the Martian moons would represent our fears and anxieties. Earth's moon wouldn't count. I'm also not sure astrology would have an affect on their first colonists. To me astrology works based on our own psychic energy reflected at us through the heavens and it takes a lot of people to have that effect. It's possible that such a psychic ocean is restricted to the the planet its on (in our case, the Gaiasphere). But once enough people showed up then subconsciously reflecting on the moons as the gods of fear and Earth as Gaia then it would begin to effect colonists. Where it will get really fun is when people are being born on asteroids or in space stations. I'd think professional astrologers would require what we'd consider supercomputers to cater to everyone in the solar system...and that's before people start being born in interstellar space and other star systems.
