I know this guy with Libra Rising and he has not yet "blossomed".

I read stories about people and I notice the most common is Libra/Capricorn/Venus/Neptune.

'syndrome'

Saturn to Venus/Moon.
Saturn in H5 (it appears to others that you are late bloomer, since your teenage yourself doesn't run around from one date to other)
Asc ruler on MC.
Asc ruler in H12. (it takes some time to tune in with expressive energy)
Venus Rx (edited to add)

I'm wondering if it doesn't have more to do with progressions or transits than natal placements.

I would say saturn-venus or saturn-asc, libra can either be very beautiful or very ugly, taurus can either be very beautiful or morbidly obese and kinda "gross" sometimes.
Im never attracted to people that have venus square saturn there is something about them that instictively turnes me off, I just get a nasty, icky vibe from them both emotionally and physically.

Tommy Lee Jones has Venus sq Saturn I am ALL OVER HIM

"Some Famous People with Venus in Hard Aspect to Saturn: Squares - Milton Berle, Julia Child, Mia Farrow, Michael J. Fox, Frank Gifford, Merv Griffin, Adolf Hitler, Dustin Hoffman, Anthony Hopkins, Michael Landon, k.d. lang, Janet Leigh, Charles Manson, Steve McQueen, Joni Mitchell, Dudley Moore, Christina Onassis, Joe Pesci, Michelle Pfeiffer, Lisa Marie Presley, Alicia Silverstone, Oprah Winfrey."

This pretty much sums it up,

quote:
They learned from their parents that they can’t be loved if they aren’t Saturnian, and that they can’t be loved if they are Saturnian either, so their logical conclusion would be that they can’t be loved at all. They can feel deprived of love; as protection against that painful feeling, they may build walls against the world. The wall winds up reinforcing their feeling of being unlovable, because sooner or later other people stop trying to get through it.

I have a libra ascendent and a taurus sun. From my perspective I have gotten more attractive with age (even though I am only 22). When I look at older pictures of myself I feel like I just haven't "developed" much yet. In a lot of ways I feel unattractive at a younger age. I feel like I still have a few years to go as well.

Tauto, Im the opposite of you, libra sun/taurus rising and I was just like that when I was younger. It took me a while to really come into my beauty and come out of my box so to speak, about 23/24 years old. It'll happen ;-)

I have Venus square Saturn and Saturn opposite my ASC (along with Venus square ASC) and I am neither very beautiful or ugly.

I was a pretty kid, and then went through an awkward adolescent phase, and now I'm relatively attractive, I guess. Definitely better looking than I was 10 years ago.

^ I have it too (Venus sq Saturn). What happened to me is that somewhere along the way I said I'm gonna have my own definition for acceptance/beauty, my standards, and others will have to measure up to them now haha. But I have Cap Venus sq Libra Saturn, which is Venus/Saturn to the 3rd degree. I think it works, too, cos other people often think they're being sized up when they're around me, feeling that they have to measure up (and they are, ha). But I have Cap Moon sq Saturn too. I can be SO aloof, are you the same? Do you think when you're around people feel that they have to be on good behavior in order for you to accept them? I've found w.Venus aspects or signs, that the people who wish to interact with you, sense your Venusian energy, and try to adopt it to fit in with you/get closer? What do you think?? (But for you it will be Venus/Saturn mixed in with whatever else your Venus is about.)

Very true!!
I don't know about sign placements, but with stressed Venus, this happens as a rule.

Oohhh... My Venus is a sad, sad little one... Lots of ugly squares all over it. The poor little thing squares Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto. Yeah, I wasn't spared, except for a sextile to Mars.

No, I'm afraid that I put people off in a serious way. I try not to be aloof, but it seems like that's so ingrained, I have a hard time trying to not be cool and detached. It seems to be a huge block in my life, this poor Venus. I tend to attract creepy men, and when I mean creepy, I mean men with criminal records, weird sexual attitudes, drug addicts etc... Ick... The "good" ones seem to not be interested in me at all, and for the life of me, I can't figure it out.

Actually, something happened to me in Nov. which makes me wonder if my off-putting Venus isn't somehow balanced out by my somewhat strong ASC. With my ASC, I have Uranus and Pluto both trine my ASC, particularly Uranus. Plus the Mercury, Sun, Jupiter conjunct.

I met someone who is kind of influential in his field. I was amazed when I picked up that he was nervous talking to *me!* WTF??!! I'm a total "nobody" in comparison to his accomplishments, yet he seemed somehow awe-struck by me in some way. Right now, t.Pluto is in a trine with my n.Uranus and ASC. I've started to really feel a big energy surge, and wonder if t.Pluto is up to some trick. Maybe the Uranus and Pluto trine to the ASC gives an energy boost that overrides the Venus? I don't know for sure. Only a guess. Maybe I give off too much of a *vibe*, and so only the strong dare to come close? Then again, maybe that's the Jupiter getting the better of my ego. Sorry!

Oh, about ugly ducklings though... Yeah, I'm one of those. TOTALLY ugly as a kid. We're talking here glasses AND braces.. Gawky.. the works. However, by the end of high school, I was asked to do some modeling, and be in a beauty pageant. By age 25 though, all that stopped! LOL!!

Taurus ASC. Don't know, but maybe the Veuns square Saturn had something to do with it, too? Perhaps?

Hehe Cosmic...sorta similar here...glasses and braces growing up, to make it worse I used to tuck my shirt into my pants. Total nerd status -_- I have Uranus and Saturn square asc, asc ruler widely conjunct MC and venus tightly opposite Neptune. My poor venus takes a beating, and my moon *sigh*

BTW that guy you met, and you felt that he was mesmerized by you? Soulmate. I had a similar experience when I met mine. He didn't seem nervous with me, more mesmerized/amazed and he's not the type to be like that with anyone. My advice is keep in touch with him, and appreciate it for what it is. Don't rush, enjoy it and if for some reason you lose touch, I'm sure you'll find each other again. Soulmates aren't easy. Once you meet them you wonder how you could've survived without them and when they're not around it's like a part of your soul is missing. Sorry for going off-topic, but I'm dealing with my own sh!t....

As for the topic...I can't say I was physically a late bloomer. I think I hit puberty a bit early but I was never really perceived as beautiful or attractive until I was about 15 and even then it was sporadic. I still would not say that I am particularly attractive, intense yes, attractive...I guess that depends on who's looking at me. A co-worker said something interesting to me a while back which I had heard from another person as well, I think it can be related somehow to Saturn. He said that I was a classic beauty, in that I am beautiful in a way that stays over time and even becomes more pronounced with time. He then compared me to Sophia Loren as an example (I wish I had an ounce of her looks) and said "I bet a lot of older men hit on you". Which is absolutely true. I get eyed more often by men old enough to be my father than a peer and according to my co-worker that's because men want women, it's a sign of class.

It's a double edged sword. On the one hand it's a wonderful compliment, on the other it's sad that I'm not perceived as 'attractive' by own dateable age group. (age gaps of 5+ years never seem to work for me) Not to mention it's a little creepy to watch a guy 30 years older than you gawk as you walk by. It's rather lonely. Anyone else get this? I also am often found rather unapproachable and cold.

plus it may be just me but i think everyone looks good older. maybe they get more expensive haircuts and dress better or have more knowledge of what works? i dunno lol! maybe it's my own venus-saturn speaking..

i have saturn in scorpio h1 opps venus in taurus h7.

i think you can age yourself here LOL.

Whoa! Wow! Well, thanks for that! Actually, it was a very quick, fleeting moment. Doubt if I'll see him again any time soon, and if I were to see him, it would take a bit of doing. What was strange is that I had put something away in my purse. At that point, I thought our conversation was over, and I looked up. He was standing there, and suddenly, I felt this big jolt, and he suddenly became very shy, and awkward. My first thought was, "wow, I don't remember a guy acting like that around me since high school." For the record, he's in his early 50's.

Don't know though... Soulmate sounds a little *too* strong. Also, we didn't exactly speak after that. It was a real quick good-bye.

I get it! At least the whole hitting on by older guys. Back when I was in my early 20's, I got hit on a lot by older guys. (then again, who doesn't at that age?) Like you, that doesn't work for me at all. One of the best things for me about getting older was getting ignored by older men. Now though, I *am* that age, and they don't want me, because I'm too old!! LOL!! So it goes...

Like you, I feel much more intense than attractive. I don't know if that makes someone unapproachable, or not. Intensity can certainly scare people off, that's for sure. Like you though, I don't know what the disconnect is with my own age group when it comes to dating. I *like* dating around my own age group, but have a heck of a hard time finding guys my own age.

It's not just getting hit on by older men, it's that they are the only ones hitting one me most of the time! It's in a very different way, it's not about them trying to sleep with me, they almost always want a relationship with me, which never works. For example, I was on my way to work wearing all black, long loose black skirt and peasant-ish type kind of shirt and had my hair braided. I walked by a man that was about 50 years old and I saw him stop walking and just stare after me out of the corner of my eye, and continued to feel his stare... With guys my age it seems to be just about them getting laid 99% of the time.

Maybe it's the age of maturity of men or maybe it's that Saturn thing... I've always been assumed to be older than I am as well, maybe that's another aspect of it?

I still think that guy is a soulmate...
