What affects you most strongly?

What opens your heart, and where is your moon?

----

My guesses:

Aries moons are moved by people demonstrating greatness: courage in the face of adversity, especially in genuine warfare or physical emergencies. They want to see people setting higher standards in any area, working as hard as it takes to get there and reaping their just rewards. They love to see a peak performance and take pleasure in seeing things done in the best way. Any action that reflects long training and determination could make them happy.

Taurus moons are moved by beauty, touched by people who bring beauty closer to them and make them feel like they are within a kind of beautiful "aura." Their senses are highly attuned to emotion and memory and when they can tap into their storehouse of pleasurable times, bring it forward so it's somehow still present and relevant in the current time, they feel whole, filled, and aligned within themselves.

Gemini moons are profoundly affected by words and all manner of expression. The right word (exactly) for the mood and situation, a gesture that is perfectly on point with how they are thinking...that will elicit their emotions. They love having a "twin," someone they can say jinx with, be psychic with, understand on other levels. And also, allowing silence when the time calls for silence. Moving in tandem with someone else makes them happy.

Cancer moons want to nurture others and feel that others are nurturing them, even by anticipating their needs and supplying them in a subtle way. They don't need giant hugs and teddy bears all the time (but it might not hurt!) They can be smothering and get tired of people disliking that. Can you thank them for caring so damn much for you? If so, that will make them happy and heal them.

Leo moons want to shine, and feel moved by any display of greatness that resonates with them and reminds them of their own inner glory. They often do things behind-the-scenes as they may have gotten burned by being too attention-grabbing in their youth. Sometimes they just put something amazing out there and let the work speak for itself, and for them. Notice that, fully take notice, and their heart may swell.

Virgo moon just wants the dishes perfectly clean, is that really too much to ask for?
Kidding! =) Virgo moon loves order, they also love to help others. And they will find your weak spots and work to strengthen you in those areas. Demonstrate the healing they supplied you with and they are happy for you and for them. And it doesn't hurt if you are impeccably clean and smell good all the time. That never hurts.

Libra moon is moved by beauty. Art, music, theater. They value excellence and precision in movement and speech, even a common gesture can be elevated when it reflects perfect attentiveness. As Venusians they revel in whatever exalts the senses and may be moved to tears seeing something of value being threatened. For instance, I know one who cannot handle seeing animals in any pain whatsoever. The sight of gory roadkill may just ruin the day for this person.

Scorpio moon is affected by depth, the truth, the opening of vaults and reclaiming of that which has been hidden or deemed untouchable. They know death and pain inside out. People who can meet them on that level and don't flinch or run away will have resonance with them.

Sag moon is affected by inspiration, that is their currency, they take it in and give it out, like breathing. Whatever is mundane, they lift, change, or carefully step over. Transactions with them are meant to give each person a greater sense of the grandeur of life. They are asking you what you see that is so grand? And telling you what they know about grandeur.

Capricorn moon is about solidity and longevity. What is lasting, what is eternal? Their attention spans from ancient times far into the future. They want to align themselves with timeless values. Once they do, whatever they see that reinforces their values and suggests the triumph of those values will elicit an emotional response.

Aquarius moon wants everything to be sensible and intelligent. Logic moves them. Things clicking into place make them happy. If their mental systems of organization enable them to predict outcomes, and prepare for things in advance, they are gratified when things play out as they foresaw, and emotionally affected by the feeling that their minds have participated in all levels of an experience, including its preparation and outfalling. They permeated the whole thing and then it "sings" to them.

Pisces moon is cued into the energetic wholeness of existence and is affected by overt acknowledgements of this wholeness. This wholeness shows itself in many ways like: strangers sacrificing for each other; miracles and synchronicity happening; someone exhibiting signs of extra sensory perception; even common gestures of sensitivity, forgiveness, and respect can elicit a strong emotional response from a Pisces moon.

Thank you...well I was thinking of you. You taught me about it...and then I saw that same thing in others with the same moon sign.

As a Gemini Moon, words don't really turn me on. In fact, dirty talk is something I despise of all things. To me, emotional conviction and the emotional truth behind the words one speaks is what triggers my emotions.

The Scorpio Moon one felt similar to me. Then again, my Moon is a Hades Moon (Opposite Pluto exact, strongest aspect in whole chart), and it sits in the 8th. It is also Trine Mercury, Neptune, Sun, and Uranus in Aquarius.

Yes to what you said about aries moon.

My moon square cap venus, so often their wants and needs clash. But there's a few things that get both going, like a *fighter* reaping his/her rewards or standing up again after getting beaten down. Bloody, but unbowed, and still can laugh a loud, winning laugh. Nothing smells sweeter than courage and determination.

I remember one of my mentors once said this: "Life is a long battle, and victory comes to those who manage to stay alive". How morbid, after all the person did have a long hard life. But yeah, I love the spirit in those words.

Oh I didn't mean dirty talk.

I meant someone speaking WELL, intelligently.

Thanks for your feedback.

Well I know that, but even speaking intelligently doesn't really appeal to me much. Intellectual stimulation is important but I can attribute that to my Aqua Stellium.

Pluto doesn't want to agree lol.

Thanks 12muddy.

Aries moons are cool and my Aries Jupiter understands them a bit, on a fundamental level!

I based what I said on my friend's Aries moon boyfriend, he is my prototype. He's a war veteran who never left the battlefield, so to speak. Still brings flowers to the graves of the friends he lost in battle. Seems like NOTHING moves him like great courage and paying the ultimate price for it.

K, so you consider yourself more like a Plutonic moon person. Perhaps it's because you are in a Plutonian situation?

Anything else you want to add, about emotional triggers?

Aw, you really got my husband and my son with wonderful accuracy.

Cap and Libra Moons, respectively.

My husband's Aquarius Mars and Sag Asc are a bit conflicted on all of that, but his Cap Moon is a good one, and mixes well with his H8 Sun. If it holds no spiritual validity, he can be quick to dismiss it. The same goes for the things he collects (primarily guns and knives, which are always unloaded and locked in a safe). He waited A YEAR for a handmade knife to be ordered, made, and delivered once. He also prefers to make as much of our furniture as he's able, because it's sturdier than what you would buy in the store for our budget.

Anyway...yes, my Libra Moon son.
He loves everything of softness and beauty (he also has a Taurus Sun and Mars), but when it comes to animals he is so very protective, and he puts colors together so beautifully when he paints, without even thinking about it. He's fascinated by my scarves, and any Eastern fabrics I have laying around the house. He also LOVES music, and makes up songs, sings the ones we listen to a lot, and seems to have a lovely voice...again, without much effort.

My Virgo Moon...Hm. I do have Uranus conjunct my IC, so my home does not tend to reflect my Moon, in spite of the fact that it's in my H2.
Yes, if I can help people heal in some way, I'm happy to do that. My poor Moon is so afflicted though, it's difficult to say who's in charge with that. Pisces Sun/Jupiter, or Virgo Moon?

The things that touch my emotions strongly are people who cannot defend themselves, or the "underdogs", the downtrodden...really, the typical Pisces vibe, I think? But Pisces and Virgo can be so similar.

Thank you for the feedback Violets! Your husband and son sound like great company!

I understand, your moon is a bit tricky with all those aspects to it.

My question is, what moves you, if you're comfortable talking about it?

Are there just "ordinary" things that happen, that trigger a deeper emotional response? Like, things you might see on TV?

EDIT: Oh, you were writing when I was.

Thanks for answering!

Gemini moon here.. that resonates pretty much with me. sometimes people think it is all about chatting, but it is about "understanding" in a deep way of the word. sometimes even through silence. nothing upset me more than someone who dont "listen" or "semi-listen" or someone giving advice without trying to understand first what is going on.

What affects you most strongly?
As much as I like to pretend I'm a tough cookie that needs no man, I tend to be most strongly affected by the presence of one in my life. Yes, I've done plenty of research. I noticed that during every period of being single I am less happy and motivated. Even though I'm not the type to complain about being single, it's just a trend I've noticed whenever I don't have a special someone. It's like the power of love gives me strength to do things I wouldn't otherwise be doing.

What opens your heart, and where is your moon?
What opens my heart? I haven't been paying attention to the specifics really, but I've noticed that being persistent can pay off every now and then. If someone shows me that I'm worth the effort to them, my heart opens up. Basically, I feel more comfortable around you if you don't disappear after five minutes of talking to me.

My Gemini Moon is technically in 7th house, but it's also like five minutes away from entering 8th house and I relate more to Moon in 8th house descriptions. Of course, I have the 2nd-8th houses intercepted.

I didn't know you were a Leo moon. But I'm remembering the picture you posted of yourself here, where you look absolutely perfect. And yes....that's what I mean about Leo moon. Just shining like crazy, leaving no room for doubt about their capabilities.

moon in gemini here.. yes, people speaking well articulated touch me. I love these 18th century films when the use of words is so beautiful and elaborated. I love to see the beauty of sentence constructions and the music behind certain pronunciations. and.. if i dont like the voice of someone almost 100% i wont like the person.

Being a Leo Moon (also having other planets in Leo and a strongly fire dominant natal chart) I find this to be very very true!

Very accurate description! My Moon is in the 1st house (my Ascendant is in Leo as well) which is the house of Aries and my Moon forms sharp sextile with my Mars, so I often feel like an Aries Moon as well.

MOON in GEMINI

I want to add that in spite of having square of moon-uranus moon-pluto, i resonate pretty much with the description.

my moon conjunct mercury in gemini and mercury is the sole dispositor in my chart. my moon is dispositor of my sun-mars-venus stellium, which conjunct 3rd house cusp... so the mercurial theme is sort of strong in my chart. that my explain why some other gemini mooners do not identify so closely with their gemini moons.

I can relate to this I think because I have a tight trine between my moon and my Mars.
