I have been experiencing this a lot, ever since high school. I could be just talking to someone in a friendly manner and they take it as me flirting with them. Then they get interested. I usually end up rejecting because I had no intentions in the first place. But somehow I guess I give off a certain vibe that guys find attractive even though the conversations were meant to be platonic? And most of the time, they’re the ones starting the conversation. I reply in a friendly way to show my disinterest but if comes off the other way around. Wtf. Gets me in trouble sometimes.

I don’t even have Venus in the 1st.

So what else could indicate something like this in a chart?

------------------
Gemini Rising
Sun in Leo (2nd house)
Moon in Cancer (1st house)
Mercury in Virgo (3rd house conj.)
Venus in Virgo (3rd house)
Mars in Libra (5th house)

Maybe it's the doing of your Mars in Libra in 5th. My Mars in Libra friend is a natural flirt, also has Sun conjunct Mercury conjunct Venus, (in Cancer btw).

I got Venus in 5th and I've been told by some girls that I talk to them like I'm their boyfriend, and I'm like "ehh but I talk to everyone in the same manner ". My Venus also conjuncts Mercury and Sun though, so maybe that's it, also rules 7th, and is in Pisces.

This happens to me almost all the time! In your case, maybe it's because of your Sun in Leo and Mars in Libra 5th house.
In my case, Venus is my dominant planet, I have Ascendant in Taurus and Mars in Leo opposite Venus... 🤔

I'm interested in this.

I am always goofing around and playful with people I meet.

Most times others will assume I am flirting. When I am being friendly.

Libra/Taurus energy can do that. And Libra/Taurus-like placements i.e Venus in 7th/2nd, Sun in 7th/Sun in 2nd etc.

Other times strong 7th/2nd house natives can also have that.Or many natal planets ruled by Venus.

I have Mars conjunct Dsc,Venus/Saturn
and Pluto in 7th

My friend whom has Cap Asc with Sun,Moon ,Mercury and Mars in 2nd has the same issue with women.

Venus is what we love and how we show love. Your Venus is in the third, so you could be inclined to engage in light conversations, make compliments and the like.

If your Asc ruler Mercury is conjunct Venus then this could be the explanation for the reactions you get. The Asccendant and its ruler is who we are and in that case your Mercury (speech, mannerisms, thinking) would be heavily colored by Venusian energy. Maybe you unconsciously do send certain signals just for the fun of it.

Even if Mercury is not conjunct your Venus, you're chart is Gemini heavy:Gemini rising, Asc ruler is in third house, Venus in third. All this points to you being verbally flirtatious. Add a little bit of the attention seeking element of your Leo Sun and there you have it.

It could be the gemini rising. Not to be obnoxious (i'm a gem rising too), but I have seen lots of Gems have a weird polar attraction with others. It's not really sexual attraction but people are attracted to us because they see something odd about us. We are male and female energy at once, unintentional androgynous aura emits from us and people just kind of drift to us out of curiosity and keep coming back to figure us out. It's a weird attraction, I don't think it is sexual but it is not platonic either.

Edie Sedgewick was a Gemini rising. I remember reading somewhere, some of her friends made note of how attractive she was but bc of her androgynous personality, she was dense and naive and never really understood the magnetic power she had over them. Geminis are just naive, they don't get how they pull people in and out because it is never on their mind.

Marilyn Monroe....Gem sun, though I think with her Leo rising she was more aware of her fatal attraction capabilities. Angelina Jolie too, but her Cancer rising makes her more aware

If you watch CosmetiqueAstrology videos, she noted that those in the Gemini nakshatras (Rohini and Mrigashira) are really bad at understanding their attraction skills and often underdress and underperform because they are so naive and don't know how to hone their true potential of beauty and power.

Long post but that's what I immediately thought of.

Short version: "Being polite is so rare these days that it's often confused with flirting."

x

Longer version: people believe what they want, and many fake experts are telling them what they want to hear.

Though not everyone falls for it. I'd heard so much about this dating guru for women that I finally looked him up out of curiosity (and believe that what women really liked was his appearance rather than the fake words of wisdom coming out of his mouth), and it essentially boiled down to what so many others say to men and women both: if you acknowledge someone's existence of the opposite (or even same) gender, then you're attracted to them. (This guy went so far as to say guys never read scifi, so if one is next to you in the scifi section at a bookstore or library then he's there for you, not the books, and I know from experience that's not the case, but I don't feel like sharing that experience...and no one should believe it anyway.) Like many others, he said the slightest acknowledgement of your existence was proof that he was into you, so I posted a snarky comment about my male cousin being into me (as he did stuff anyone who knows you would do, which this false guru said were signs of attraction). I was then surprised by getting scores of likes and laughing replies in a single day, which implies to me that many were taking what he said with a grain (or pound) of salt. Still, many fall for such bad advice.

Men get the same garbage told to them, and it's such that I had to become more cold and distant to many men because it would get taken the wrong way if I was so much as polite to them. Not all, but it happened with distressing frequency, and it's not just men being that way for I've had to deal with women assuming I was flirting with men as well, sometimes becoming obnoxiously jealous. Older men and women are usually much better about it so I'm still typically polite and courteous with them without fear (and the pervs among them strike me as people who will be pervs no matter what anyway).

It's funny that many think I'm too cynical and yet I'm not the one who believes that people must want something from you (money, favors, dates, etc)--that is, have ulterior motives--before they'll be nice.

And for this reason, I don't think astrology is particularly relevant here.

Do you smile a lot or naturally? If so I say a Libra/7H/Venus/Gemini/3H/Leo/5H placements would. Jupiter to asc or some open-ness demeanor would lead someone to think so.

I had Jupiter in 1H and Uranus on MC by transits -- that lure in opposite sex (I was feeling happy and alive -- playful and smiling a lot)

Also you must be a looker too or attractive for them to jump to this conclusion hehe

This thread is hilarious, because even when someone is flirting with me, I'll just be thinking in my head, "This person flirts with all their friends. Clearly, our friendship is official now." A man has to be very, very blunt and obvious for me to seriously believe he's into me that way. This is because, as this thread reflects, being polite does not generally equate to romantic interest no matter how rare it may be to encounter someone being polite.

All I will say is this is a common theme I find with a lot of Leo Women.

There friendliness or the way they project themselves leads to problems and to the wrong people.

Thats all I'm going to say because I'm not in the mood to deal with a Lion's roar right now if I say the wrong thing.

Of course I know that it’s not necessarily all the time that being polite (even from a man) does not always equal romantic interest. I am talking about in the case of having romantic interest.

When men come up to me, it’s usually friendly so I assume they’re just trying to be friendly. I respond accordingly. But the minute the conversation breaks off, I know for sure they are interested because they usually ask to hang out some more. Sometimes they even want to hang out alone if we initially met around a group of people. When they don’t do this, I know they’re just trying to be friendly.

I hope that clears things up for you.

It could be your body or something sexy about you. Could be your innocent look. Might be your aura. I would guess you could be sexy. A nice body would do it. I could prolly look at your chart and tell you.

That’s a very interesting take on the matter. I never thought the energy of Gemini would have an attractive feel to it. It’s androgynous after all.

For example, an average looking lady with a nice bottom can get attention. Might be something like that. Then once they get your attention...is your North Node is on Pallas' South Node and vice-versa. The obvious thing in your chart is your Pluto being square to Venus (can be major turn on). That was the hint to look at Pallas.

Reverse Pallas vibe might can be dangerous: http://zot.net/criminalastrology.htm

^ That is new..never heard of that Lol..*googles*..food for thought

There are these weird lines, more like dots.. running between Uranus/Neptune and Venus, got any idea what it is ?

Just read the description of Venus septile Pluto and yeah I can resonate with that very much, the "all-consuming" love, that is, always thought I got it from habing moon in 8th though.

And thanks btw lol.

I think its all about the signals being sent by Leos and how there intercepted by the other side.

Here's an example.

I actually found this interesting it happen several years ago.

A friend of my mind who is a Libra who is also a store manager had a Leo working under him.

It was a long time me and my Libra buddy saw each other so he told me to meet him after work and then will go drinking afterwards so that's what I did.

I went to his office to see him and his Leo employee comes out to greet me, she went straight to me and gives me a hug.

I'm baffled...first time I've meet this person and she's giving me a hug???.

I'm thinking she's just being friendly,
How often does a girl that just meet a random guy give a hug like that. She doesn't even know who I am just a friend of her boss.

She might trust her Libra boss but how does she know his Gemini friend is like him?

I think Leo's give off the wrong message if its the wrong person and that leads to problems.

..
Yes, I've encountered several leos. The July borns are like house cats that will climb on your lap and purr.

The August borns are like lions and tigers they have all the traits of a house cat can but also eat you alive.

Which one are you Solar_Leo_Queen?

Now that’s just bad social etiquette, whatever your friend’s employee just did. I would have freaked out on the inside if thay was me in your situation. I don’t feel comfortable giving physical touch of any kind to someone I just met. I usually keep my distance too while talking, unlike when I talk with someone I already know. I think that’s the Virgo in me. There’s a certain standard I like to keep with social interactions. I don’t like immediately scaring people off. I think if I was your friend’s employee, a nice firm handshake would have sufficed. Smiling is key too though.

I am an August Leo. I’m not sure about your observation, but I guess the July one kinda fits with my bf’s personality. He was born July 29. He’s more affectionate than I am despite havinf Cap moon. Could it be because July Leos are closer to Cancer season that they somehow exhibit some Cancerian traits too?

As for August, I would say I can have a temper, yes. I get annoyed or irritated very easily. Although I usually don’t fly off the handle, there’s been quite a few times people have pushed the forbidden button. People used to get intimidated by me back in middle school. They said I had a certain look.
