whenever i read texts and interpretations to the 6th house i always get this feeling that there has to be more than what i keep reading over and over again, considering my sun, mars, and mercury conjunction fall right in it. i found some interesting articles talking about the transformational influence the 6th house has which makes complete sense when i think about the sign of virgo-perfection. and attaining perfection in the perfectionists eyes requires change and transformation.

"Coming as it does between the 5th and 7th houses, the Leonine roar and the Libran charm, the 6th house often seems a bit lost in some astrological texts. Employment, daily routine, health, diet, and pets are among the most common rulerships assigned to the 6th house. Dane Rudhyar, though, writes that the 6th house “shows, more than any other factor in the whole of the astrological field, how an individual can grow and become transformed.”1 This is quite a powerful statement, considering that many have traditionally associated the 6th house with more earthbound, less transformational Virgoan pursuits. However, transformation means, literally, a change of form."

i thought this was interesting and was on the same page of what i was wondering!
the rest of the article is on this link http://www.astrofuturetrends.com/id20.html

i also found another article from astro.com talking of the same topic. even going into some interpretations of calling the 6th house, the house of alchemy. http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_dgsixthhouse_e.htm

anyone with a louded 6th house relate?

also having a virgo moon, im constantly changing parts of myself that i feel need improvement, whether its my attitude, my actions, my thought processes, even down to my hobbies. im always trying to do something better, each time i try it to pretty much attain the perfection in my creations that i really try to seek. i always had a hard time relating my sun, mars, merc in the 6th to my work, but i am very health conscious and analytical. but im sure my moon influences that too

I am a big fan of Dane Rudhyar and his view of astrology. Having Virgo Moon, Libra Vx, and Libra NN conj Pluto in the 6th house, I can identify with not seeing the general understanding of 6th house in my own persona. I do see a huge theme for refinement and service to others though. I have a genuine desire to see other people thrive and triumph. When I have the means to help others accomplish that, I rarely ignore the desire to offer help.

I like 6th house, and though it is considered a "weak" house, I like to think of it as subtle, gentle, and mutable. =)

i agree on many levels. i really enjoy my 6th house placements, i have 7 planets in mutable houses. i wouldnt consider them weakly placed, i love working with people and helping them. ive read that the mutable houses are considered the mental houses which makes sense since 2 are mercury ruled and the other 2 are jupiter/neptune.

with pluto in your 6th house, do you find yourself having bowel issues? or repressed stresses working into your health?

its funny we all have virgo moons and a theme of the 6th house as well.

how would you say your jupiter plays out in your 6th health wise? do you love to indulge in yummy foods and would you say your health is typically very good and robust?

I can always tell how I am emotionally by my health. It automatically manifests in my body (perhaps a result of Pluto being opposed ASC) When I am in a good emotional state, I look healthy, fresh, young, and well put together. When I am in low spirits I look sick, old, and unkempt. My stomach is one of the first indicators that my emotions are off and I usually experience high acidity. I'm pretty in tuned with my diet however and am lucky that I often crave foods which make me feel good as opposed to rich foods.

For example, a few days ago my stomach started bothering me. Over the past three days I began craving tangerines, but I discovered it wasn't the tangerine I was craving as much as the peels (I know, eww right?). I have been snacking on tangerine peels for the past couple of days and my stomach issues are gone. Now had you offered me a tangerine peel to eat last week, I would have looked at you like you were insane.

I have just learned to go with these things and chuckle at my body when stuff like this happens.

Someone on another board described SN as "evil". Mine is in my 6th and while I love to analyze dietary and other 6th House matters (ruler of 6th being in my 3rd, conj Mercury), it's been a source of harm for me, in the psychiatric sense. So I'm pursuing the breatharian track that Linda Goodman describes in "Star Signs"...hopefully someday I won't have to bother with food or cooking at all.

I have Sun,Moon,Mercury and Mars in H6 all in Leo.

I feel like Im here to serve a purpose to people.. Not like a teacher (even though my MC in Sag) but to do things for people,
Its like if Im meant to put fire under peoples azz to get them to do things for themselves..
I lite peoples fire house in a major way, I just get people off their ass to do things.
In the process I learn some things along the line.

Also Im alway always doing favors for people...

Ruler of my 6th is the Moon. I always get a stomach upset when my emotions are off. I always thought that's the same for everybody. A few years ago, I remember arguing with my bf at dinner time. Guess what? No appetite. He sat there eating even though I know he wasn't feeling that great either. My stomach was too messed up to add food to it. I remember he asked me to come to the table, and I was surprised; I simply explained that I cannot eat when I'm upset. Geez. Isn't that easy to figure out?
Anyway. I love this thread.
My 6th house is empty but its ruler is significant to me and it forms this T-sq to my Mars and Venus. In addition it trines my Pluto in the 8th in Virgo. Because my Moon is in Taurus, it's exalted and I believe it also highlights the Virgoan in me (my SN is in Virgo too, 7th house, conj my Pluto).

do u feel like you can relate to the transformational properties of the 6th house as well? do you find yourself mastering talents or skills and improving yourself in any way?

thats funny you wanted tangerine peels. how did you eat them? with something or in a shake or just raw and plain ol peel? haha

whenever im stressed my stomach gets all jacked up. ive realized how correlated the mind and body is in relation to the bodies health.

HEhe if you really want to know, I eat the pericarp (white stuff) first by pealing it off, that leaves the bumpy zest (composed of tiny cells filled with liquid), It feels a bit like a cat's tongue. I'll suck on that for a while or nibble the connective tissue between the cells and munch them like tiny caviar. I also nibble the zest into exciting shapes until it's gone. I have a history of oral fixation haha.

I always attributed that to my Virgo Moon. (Which I should clarify from above is not in the 6th, but the 9th.) But yes, I have trouble seeing the forest from the trees at times.

I've got my moon in the 6th. I am actually coming into a period of my life when I am simply compelled, I mean very strongly pushed by some force, to help people who are in seemingly hopeless situations. I was always compassionate and always willing to lend a helping hand in run of the mill situations, but recently, I'm getting into the big time projects. I don't tell too many people about my projects, bc the few people I have told have already looked at me like I have three heads, i.e., 'why are you helping HIM? You don't even KNOW him."

The 6th House also encompasses "the ability to be inventive," according to Debbi Kempton-Smith. Perhaps that's one of the spots from which personal (since the 6th is ruled by Virgo, which is not a transpersonal sign) transformation stems from. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results so if present-minded/clear-thinking Virgo (whose House lies in opposition to the 12th which rules asylums) is continually striving for perfection, inventiveness would be in order to achieve different results from the unsatisfactory status quo.

e.g. Reinventing your eating patterns can transform your personal health.

Makes sense. The 6th also includes community needs.

Age of Pisces is still on its last leg, I guess. Hopefully the lesson will carry over to the next age, but expressed through social change (Aquarius).

transformation is not what comes to mind when i think of the 6th house, and i too have a 6th house stellium

but of course my 6th house is in scorpio sextiling my 8th house planets so i will have transformation no matter what in my life...i just dont associate it with the 6th house

I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate?

when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history
