I just finished eating some AMAZING artichoke-garlic herb bread that I picked up on the way back from a short road trip. It's so yummy! There was a little bakery in a tiny town along the coast and it had all this fresh bread, it was beautiful and just out of the oven.
I finished almost the whole loaf by the time we got home

I just had a nectarine for lunch.
It was good.
Dinner would be a tomato salad. And watermelon.
Maybe just watermelon. Hmmm.

I had two big thick pieces of white toast with just butter, and a packet of salt and vinegar Kettle chips that were so greasy but fantastic, washed down with a shot of filter coffee and milk. AWESOME. I love food.

GypseeWind~ That cracked me the eff up!
As usual.

I am a weird eater, I graze.

I have just had a full avocado, with ground black pepper and salt, apple cider vinegar instead of fresh lemons and a little of sweet-chilli sauce to balance the tartness of the vinegar.

Party in my mouth!!

Yum.

By the way, Cpn, cheesecake is the only cake I can eat! It is delicious! I can't stand chocolate or any of those sponges except maybe carrot cake, but cheesecake is my cake of choice. I have it like once every 3 months because I really go by what I feel like eating at the moment and I seldom feel like cake. but when I do... CHEESECAKE!

DT~ I wish I could eat oatmeal, but it's so slimy, so I eat oats via muesli.

I envy coffee drinkers. They look like they are having so much fun. I have trouble sleeping so I don't drink coffee, and I don't see the point of decaf.

During the week, I can't seem to get interested in cooking anything so I pick and graze..

Tonight...toasted raisin nut cinnamon bread with butter and applesauce.

MVM...where was the bakery on the coast? I'm originally from the Bay Area, on the Peninsula...Woodside.

Today I had a spicy fish wrap. It doesn't sound appealing but it was like a spicy fish taco, just wrapped up with the lettuce and tomatoes and sauce instead of being taco-ed or open, you know what I mean...

See now, with all you smart peeps, maybe you can answer a strange question/dilemna I've been having... This probably belongs in another forum, but what the heck we are discussing food.

For the last 3-4 years I have been having THE strangest food issues. I mean it is just bizarre.
First of all, I don't have an appetite most times, eating is a complete chore for me. Maybe I've been doing it so long at the demands of others, I am just burned on it.

Anyway, I will get a craving. For something specific. Last month is was pepper jack cheese. Now see, in theory that sounds fine. But for me, not so much, I ate pepper jack cheese for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or whichever ones I do eat.
I ate it everyway humanly possible. Melted on toast, grated in salad, etc... until one day I was watching t.v. and saw a commercial for tomato soup. I knew that was gonna be it! I went the grocery and bought a basket full of tomato soups, and same scenario. Now that is strange isn't it? During these phases I literally can't/won't eat anything other than my current obsession. what to do with myself, I have no clue....

I think just go with your craving, your body is telling you something.

You know I read or watched something once about a guy who was lost on a life raft in the mid-Atlantic. He'd drift close to the Caribbean and then the Gulf stream would sweep him right back out again, he kept going round in circles. This ordeal went on for months.

He was ok for water, he'd managed to make something to evaporate sea water and condense it.

The thing I remember about it is that he was catching fish, and eventually what he did was not eat the whole fish but just its eyes. He didn't know why this was but he went with it.

Anyway, he survived this ordeal and got picked up by a tanker, and was in a severe state physically but survived against all the odds.

This puzzled the doctors who were helping him rehabilitate, but a nutritionist pointed out that fish eys have all the protein, water, fat and mineral content you need to survive. If he'd eaten the fish flesh it would have been too much protein for the water content he was able to take in.

His body knew when his mind didn't.

I had similar once when I was driven to eating bones (I know this sounds really odd, it was after an illness where my hair fell out, some sort of teen virus and complete physical breakdown due to stress). Turns out I had a calcium and iron deficiency. It was pretty disturbing for me as I was a vegetarian at the time!

Eat away! And don't worry.

GypseeWind.

You've just described my appetite. That's how I eat. I eat whenever, but I eat the same thing for a while until I move on to my next "obsession". I also find eating to be tedious most of the time, so I have to crave something strongly to bother to eat it.

So, it is nice to know that I am not alone.

Oh, man what a relief! You don't know how much guff I get for this in my life. Glad to know your there with me unmoved.

Wheels, I kind of figured it was something like that. And you know, I never crave sweets so I guess I'm lucky that way. My body is so messed up, I have to get my vitamins injected every month cause I can't take enough orally. So I guess I won't worry about it, as long as the cravings aren't something really odd, or gross.
