I used to do that, too.

Even when waiting for a concert to begin, I would be sitting in the crowd having my nose in a book (which sometimes backfired. lol)

I am a little confused about myself though.

I just don´t know if I am a REAL introvert anymore, or if i can be an introvert by expression, but have a bit of a more extrovert internal side.

I can`t even put it into words.
Well, Iam still introvert, but also feel more connected to other people and also interested in them. It`s confusing, as I have always been majorly introvert.
But the fact alone that I am so thirsty for communication - is that even fitting for a true introvert?

But on the other hand I can TOTALLY identify with that list.

And yes I NEED alone-time to recharge BADLY.

Hi Ceri!

I'm going to have to get back to this one tomorrow. I know I have some you two would like, but it will take me a minute to find them.

I've a feeling we are in good company and are surrounded by more 'introverts' than we realize.

be back tomorrow to share some more...

People who liked that list would very likely relate to the show Daria...and speaking of which I thought I'd share a recent fan made movie trailer College Humor made that I thought did a really good job at capturing the characters (as adults 10 years later going to a high school reunion) and show:

If this movie came out I might catch the midnight showing for the first time.

That was great!

Most of those I completely understand all too well, especially the cat GIF where it said ”How was your weekend”? ”Great I didnt see anyone for two days” lol!

#7 is true too...having visitors stay with you is a nightmare, because its means you have to be on AT ALL TIMES.

My hubby and I argue about how he is not an introvert, I say he is not one and he claims he is. But when he wants to head to 42nd st to be around LOTS of people till 12 midnight, that doesnt make for an introvert, but I love him anyway

As far as being an introvert, i have always been a loner and an only child. I enjoy solitude and being around people gets on my nerves. i found a post about this on another forum and the poster summed it up for me.

"To be honest I find too much close contact with other people annoying - as soon you get too close to them at some level there trying impose themselves on you, use you, intrude on you, manipulate you, control you - get information on you, find a weakness or just generally annoy you and take out their frustrations on you. They will start of friendly and then push and push to see what they can get away with."

T.... Yes! I relate and IDENTIFY WITH your 'introvert' post! (What a great topic!)

I genuinely LOVE people with GREAT affection and warmth and care. I love to help others feel included, and seek to help them inter-relate with others. If they stay around me, I naturally begin to engage them on deeper inner-levels. So much magic!

I can usually take a complete stranger and find SOMETHING we have deeply in common within a short period of time. I really like it when people feel "home" with me, and "comfortable & safe" in whatever environment we would find ourselves in.

In a crowd, or small groups, I'm good at getting strangers to feel comfortable and begin to inter-relate with each other and find common grounds.... BUT!! then I can feel myself 'withdraw' inside myself somehow?? (I wish it wouldn't be that way?) ....Introverting?

Seems that I can only stay 'surfacey' for SHORT amounts of time... then after that, the 'shallowness' causes me to dive for depths of Calmness & Peace, inwardly... yeah, sometimes that means either daydreaming, or my mind will go back to pondering some puzzle or thought or mystery it's been trying to solve for the long-term.... or, I'll feel backed away and present-inwardly just 'watching'....

I used to regularly go to little cafes, breakfast places, or greasy-spoon type places, to sit in the booth and just be 'by myself' with people surrounding me. I'd journal, write, ponder, study.... LOVED those days!!

Every once in a while, someone else would strike up a conversation with me (or I would with them)... and we would TALK OUR HEADS OFF! LOL... I would have complete strangers tell me their life stories, their private inner struggles. We would entertain Life, together, for a while. I really liked that! Very special to me.

I like going to places like airport lobbies (for example), to 'observe' the people making "transitions".... Drinking coffee at a little table, I'd watch how they come out of the Gates, and how/if they're greeted by an awaiting party. I'd watch them 're-introduce' themselves into plain regular life. Even people who were 'solo' would have an experience of a transition. Then there'd be the ones with Families or a Loved One there. Total raw insights into instant 'family dynamics'! WOW.... there's something about those first moments that don't repeat afterwards! 'Reception' is a very interesting private inner & outer Social process. (I just LOVE IT!!~~ I Love People!!)

Every great once in a while, my eyes will meet up with someone else who is having that same type of 'awake parallel-experience' as me! Two watchers watching! But I'll feel a sudden-shock in it! Suddenly, I feel VERY shy to be 'caught' in someone else's attention!

P.J.--- I think Daria is super!... She came up with a quote something like 'Their shallowness is SOOO shallow that it's almost like DEPTH!'.... (BTW, in a general way, I overall resemble her in my looks.... but an older version. That was a fun youtube, thanks!)

#26. And when you need to be completely alone so you can recharge and get back to being awesome!

As people-oriented as I am.... I have a 'contradiction': "Being Alone" is also like "Nutrition" to me! I need it to survive.....! At least give me 2 hours a day to be alone (preferable away from other bodies... distant background noise of people is okay) and do not require me to interact with anyone.

I can be in the same room (or car) with someone, and NOT "have to" 'exchange' social energies!..... ah, soooo nice.

BUT & HOWEVER!!---, "If" you are into a 'mood' for deep intimate, COMPLETELY merging, impacting, root-shaking Plutonic-type conversation-experience?--- Then that's ME!

AND, if you want to Go Eccentric and Wild, and have some Adventure? Do an Uproar and PLAY out of Crazy-SAFE-Insane Fun?--- then OMGosh, 'that's gemmy-Sun, Sag-rising "ME"---- The flip-side #2! LOL... Galloping Out of the Box Adventure-TWINS!!

Just make sure I get some QUALITY alone-time.... Then, Let's HAVE FUN!!!!

Lonely extrovert over here. Don't you introverts need someone to orbit around...?

You can be an outgoing introvert! Not to mention it's a spectrum and while you are an introvert, it's normal to have an extrovert side. If you're 80% introvert then there must be 20% extrovert, yeah?

Don't be lonely.

Go look in a mirror some more...

I used to think Extroverts could never be lonely, but I guess it's the opposite way around. Introverts don't mind, even sometimes may need to be alone. Extroverts can't stand long periods of being alone.

I am definitely not an Extrovert...

I think my post count + join date is more than enough clue as to whether I'm an introvert or not...

I actually love being with people who talk. People who talk without constantly trying to get me to talk. I'm happy, to sit, and listen, and make comments if wanted, or engage verbally occasionally.
I can hold a conversation by myself... but I vehemently prefer not to.

I am actually a Leo Ascendant, go figure.

INTJ here, The Scientist.

"You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (33%)"

Some of the things in the article apply to me. Others affect people that try harder than me to be charming and engaging.

I do have a desire to be able to talk with people in ever increasing capacity, but there is no particular draw to charming people outside of improv or around the house.

I do actually enjoy going out. I like getting dressed up. I like the prospect of meeting strangers...and seeing how they respond to how I look (I'm capable of looking as if I inhabit a lot of different stations of life, so it's fun to move between those looks). I like experiencing new things, and new places without any particular regard for any social convention that might seem appropriate. I'm going in order to see and to experience; not necessarily with the goal of socializing.

I'm illiterate. You won't generally find me with a book. I have taken to subscribing to some interesting magazines, though, which I do bring out...once again, not to ward people off, but rather to read for my own edification. It hasn't become a conversation starter thus far.

I'm incapable of feeling weird for wanting to do things by myself, and people don't generally try to make me feel weird for doing those things. I think I would feel stifled if I always needed company in order to do things.

I love the energy of airports, too. There's an excitement in the air.

I miss that. That used to happen when I was young a lot.

You sound like my bff she's a Libra but she's got lots of water (most of which is Scorpio) and is a fire void and a Virgo Moon so like, super introvert lol! I'm a Leo AC myself too actually and I usually do most of the talking, occasionally ask her for opinion/thoughts or something simple like, "so how is this going" etc. etc. which she doesn't need to go on at length, just fill me in lmfao!

Sometimes though I can get her all riled up and hyper and it's hilarious because it's like the 5% of her that's extrovert comes out.

Hi SwiftFreeze!...

so sorry.... I had asked some questions then 'suddenly' realized that I needed to go to bed. I didn't want to ask questions then not be able to hang out for a while!

That was SO SWEET of you for "caring" about my elipses........ HUUUUUGGGGG!!!!

I had left a question for AG, and a remark for you.... You had pointed out that you have a "low" posting-number to join-date 'ratio' (you mentioned somewhere above)--- well, I suggested that you have some thoughtful deep things to say!....

Oh!, also, I thought your joke was funny... You said:
