Self-driving cars? How about self-flying cars!?! In four years, Uber will offer to pick you up in a flying car. It starts in Dallas. Would you ride in one?

already saw a dude hovering 50 feet in the air on a hammock, (on youtube) thanks to the lift of his drone. flying above slow car line up.

Must have been a powerful drone. Small, pellers like a helicopter, but only 2-3 feet wide.

So I wouldnt be surprised if we were flying cars. If you use pellers, it's not like a jet. It's contrlled, slow, safe.

Fall asleep? You have a lot of faith in technology...or magic.

Nah, I have faith in the weather, that I won't be caught up in a storm and/or lightning won't strike the carpet.
What you've said is also true though, I hadn't thought of the possibility of the carpet suddenly dropping from the sky while I was , it did not come up in my mind at all, lol.

But then I feel more accidents with planes would occur. Imagine a big a*ss Boeing Commercial Jet colliding with a small ass Tesla or Prius. Instant death >.<

I think hoverboards are unsafe too since you're not strapped in. I can't imagine flying like 100 feet in the air on a board only with a helmet on.

This got me to wondering what it would be like to say nap in space. I tried looking up answers, but the 3 I clicked on either didn't deliver what they promised, or were videos that just were not loading. But I did find this one about what an astronaut dreams on Earth:

In my scifi, they use the same gravitic features that allow them to work to essentially anchor the person on the board (similar to how you stay on Earth even though it travels over a thousand miles/1.6 kilometers per hour through space) and also create a field that prevents things like dust, and sometimes even shrapnel, from touching the rider (essentially, the gravity around the rider causes such things to "fall away" and thus around the rider), and most include a nano-robotic feature that automatically prevents collisions (under normal circumstances anyway, lots can void the warranty). There are different types of g-boards (gravity boards), most with thick safety features and some that can be controlled by biofeedback, though one made to be used in a blood sport is dangerous...though even then, they're unlikely to fall off, but gravitic features don't protect them from blows (or collisions), so in this case they're expected to wear what is essentially body armor (made of light but tough material, and includes a helmet).

The same gravitic tech is found all over society, and even "surfing gas giants" is a sport, in addition to being used in vehicles. They're even used in weapons (and a knowledgeable person can turn some g-boards into deadly weapons, which causes many places to ban them by law) which fires a gravitic beam that essentially creates opposing and deadly gravitic forces within a beam (which an do very nasty things to a body, and depending on the strength can torture and subdue like a taser--though tasers are much kinder and less painful/damaging--to essentially be instant death). Of course they get used in war (body tanks even become "sky turtles" if they want such to be able to jump down to a planet from orbit), but of course people have found ways to hinder and even neutralize such technology (in addition to just targeting it to destroy it, when possible).
