I have heard of superstition from my childhood that left twitching eyelid is good omen and right is bad omen for females and vice versa for males.
I am following it from so many years.

As I am facing it now-a-days, my both the eyelids are twitching which is worrying me.

Is there any other reason beside fatigue which can cause eyelid twitching.

Overuse of antihistamines and anti-depressants.
If it persists or becomes bothersone see a Chiropractor in case you have a pinched disk.
And a Neurologist, because certain neurological syndromes are often heralded by minor tics and twitches.
If you are having charleyhorses or leg craps too, it could be a Magnesium deficiency.
If you are dieting or not eating right you could have an electrolyte imbalance.
Hope that helped.

Thank you fayte.m!!
Yes, that helps because I am overusing my brain in work and studies.
I will take Magnesium from today. I am not taking any anti-depressant but I am taking CLA Tonalin for my weight program.

If you are "overusing" your brain.....
Remember, our brain matter is composed of
Cholesterol. When over dieting, one can deplete the "lubricant" of the brain(to put it in laymen's terms) and the synaptic pathways can become restricted.
We need fats in our diets even if dieting for weight loss. Shrimp is a high cholesterol/low calorie food.
Avocadoes too, only not low calorie.
Hope that made sense.

My son is teasing his Mom( being so careful about her diet) with a slogan "If I have to die I will die thin."

Omega 3s and a good multivitamin mineral suppliment can help.
Also be sure to keep hydrated, but not so much as to cause water toxicity, which can cause seizures and death. Alot of folks think more is better when it comes to water. But even water can harm or kill.
Oh yeah, one needs some fat to help the body absorb fat soluable vitamins.
It is good you are body aware! !
But be sure you are not trying to become too thin! Have your fat to lean ratios checked!

Oh yeah....make sure no foods you eat are clashing with your weight loss meds. Some of the earlier ones could cause serious blood pressure spikes when taken with beer, bananas, aged cheeses and so forth.

Like Fayte said, you may want to see a chiropractor. Not only could it be a pinched disc, but pinched nerves can cause it as well, esp in the neck, upper back and shoulder areas. Do you have any aches or pain in any of those locations?

I recently went thru this. It started with my left and moved to my right. It wasnt a constant twitch, it only seemed to happen when i looked to the direction of the eye it was affecting, (left eye twitch, only when i looked left vice versa) It was annoying more than anything. I have a reverse curvature of the neck and see my chiropractor regularly ... so while im there, i mention this to him. He takes a look and adjusts me accordingly and explains thats its those areas I listed above causeing the twitches ... after the adjustment - they were gone.

... could be a number of diffrent possibilities, as well as a combination. Especially with other things Fatye has lined out for you here. Or its as simple as too much stress...

I am not one to dismiss such things as just stress or whatever.
I have neurological damage etcetera.
I have 2 close realatives with MS. A friend with MS. And a young cousin died of ALS. One of their first symptoms was a "minor" tic. A stroke I had in 2004 was heralded by such "minor" tics several weeks before. I have experienced black blindness after such "minor" twitches and tics due to damaged vertebra affecting nerves and blood vessels.

It might indeed be something simple.
But it might not be.
SEE A DOCTOR ASAP!
PLEASE!
Your life and health may depend on it.

Thank you very much for all responses!!

But I think I used to see Chiroprac.... for my neck pain and recently I stopped visiting as I am having too much of stress at my work.
So may be I need to visit my Chiro.. ASAP.
