1. The ascendant of both the chart should be 4/10, 1/7, 5/9 or 3/11. If the Ascendant is in 6/8 or 2/12 the nature of the bride and groom will not match.
2. The Ascendant Lord should be checked similarly. The ascendant Lord should not be posited in 2/12 or 6/8 condition
3. The moon should placed favorable in 4/10, 1/7, 5/9 or 3/11. If the Moon sign of one is the Lagna of another Horoscope, it is very good for marital bliss.
4. Horoscope matching by date of birth requires the complete analysis of the both the charts.
5. Sun should not be placed in 7th house
6. If Rahu and Venus coincides in both the chart, it indicates very good love and romance among the couple. This is perfect for Kundali matching.
7. Jupiter should not be weak in a females chart.
8. Venus is the significator of the 7th house and its strength or weakness affects the success or failure of a married life to a great extent. If venus is ill placed in a chart then it may lead to possiblity of infertility.
9. The Placement of Navamsa Lagna of Boy in Girls Navamsa chart should be checked. It should not be in 6,8, 12 and Afflicted by Malefic Planet. Similarly the placement of Navamsa Lagna of Girl should be checked in Boys Navamsa Chart.
10. The Mentality of both Boy and Girl should Match. If both the Boy and Girl is too much Rigid and inflexible, Problem can Occur in Marriage.
11. The Affliction or Malefic Planets placed in 2nd house, 4th house, 7th house and 8th house should be of equal amount. So the Malefic influence can balance each other.

Thanks vansio for clarification. I'm new to Vedic, and simply copied this from a blog found online. In response to another thread in Interpersonal Astrology which addressed only Stree Deergha. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum35/HTML/009233.html

I recognized that was too simplistic by itself to be definitive.

I'm also new to Vedic astrology. Got some basics from this video on compatibility: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MaTBSK4Ndw

These are more important than the overall score.

1) Ascendants should not be in same signs.

2) Ascendant rulers should be "friendly" to each other, e.g. Sag Asc ruler Jupiter are friends with Mars, Moon and Sun.

3) Manglik should marry another Manglik (i.e. Mars in 1,2,4,7,8,12 houses) as they will have the same energy levels.

4) Distance from man's Moon to woman's Moon. The further her Moon is from the man, the harder it is for him to relate to her emotions. He mentioned houses but I believe he's referring to signs?

5) This goes the same for Venus signs. When the man's Venus is close to the woman's Venus, it's easier for him to show love & romance to her. (However, I checked a lot of couples' charts and the men's Venuses are all far from their women's 🤷‍♀️ .

Thanks Hikaru. Helpful. Questions:

He says not the same sign ASC. Presumably, fire sign ASC with another fire sign ASC is OK.

Where can I find a list of Vedic "friendly" planet ASC rulers? edit: I found this: http://www.shrivinayakaastrology.com/Planets/beneficandmaleficplanets.html

Her Moon in same sign as his OK? In Western, if her Moon is in the next sign, their Moons will be in unfavorable semisextile aspect by sign. Same for her Moon square his Moon. Same question and observation for Venus.

Thanks for the link.
Ya, I mean Ascendants not in SAME sign. I've edited my post above.

I also have questions about Moons in semi-sextile/square/quincunx. They're not considered compatible in western astrology. How?
