A friend of mine, 60-years-old, mostly vegan (rare fish, eggs, goat cheese), gets plenty of exercise (including commuting by bike 60 miles a week) got test results for cholesterol. To her surprise, the bad cholesterol was 168, and the good stuff was 51. ie, the bad was high and the good was low.Anyone else with comparable circumstances test this badly? And how often do these tests get messed up (mislabled to the wrong patient, inaccurate, etc)? Do you think it's worth her looking into getting the test redone? And if so, by a different doctor and/or lab? Ty IP: Logged |

That sounds good to me. It is suppose to be under 200 and 168 is pretty well below that. Mine is 290!! I have been working on trying to get it down. Maybe you should post this in Health and healing.\IP: Logged |

From what I've read genetics/family history has as much to do with this as diet. And as Bluemoon said the results were not that bad. re: foul-ups? if her insurance covers a second opinion/re-testing, or she can afford it..get it.IP: Logged | |
