HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF
from LOUISE L. HAY
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE

1. STOP ALL CRITICISM. Criticism never changes a thing. Refuse to criticize yourself. Accept yourself exactly as you are. Everybody changes. When you criticize yourself, your changes are negative. When you approve of yourself, your changes are positive.

2. DON'T SCARE YOURELF. Stop terrorizing yourself with your thoughts. It's a dreadful way to live. Find a mental image that gives you pleasure (mine is yellow roses), and immediately switch your scary thought to a pleasure thought.

3. BE GENTLE AND KIND AND PATIENT. Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Be patient with yourself as you learn the new ways of thinking. Treat yourself as you would someone you really loved.

4. BE KIND TO YOUR MIND. Self hatred is only hating your own thoughts. Don't hate yourself for having the thoguhts. Gently change your thoughts.

5. PRAISE YOURSELF. Criticism breaks down the inner spirit. Praise builds it up. Praise yourself as much as you can. Tell yourself how well you are doing with every little thing.

6. SUPPORT YOURSELF. Find ways to support yourself. Reach out to friends and allow them to help you. It is being strong to ask for help when you need it.

7. BE LOVING TO YOUR NEGATIVES. Acknowledge that you created them to fulfill a need. Now you are finding new, positive ways to fulfill those needs. So lovingly release the old negative patterns.

8. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY. Learn about nutrition. What kind of fuel does you body need to have optimum energy and vitality? Learn about exercise. What kind of exercise can you enjoy? Cherish and revere the temple you live in.

9. MIRROW WORK. Look into your eyes often. Express this growing sense of love you have for yourself. Forgive yourself while looking into the mirror. Talk to your parents looking into the mirror. Forgive them too. At least once a day say: "I love you. I really love you!"

10. LOVE YOURSELF...DO IT NOW. Don't wait until you get well, or lose the weight, or get the new job, or the new relationship.
Begin now- and do the
best you can.

How strange, i was thinking the same today morning.
How easy it is for me to love others than loving myself.

Read it now, went
YAY
tomorrow I will forget.
It's my problem.
I can't hold onto positives when I insert the negatives in the empty spaces.
But luckily, if I keep the spaces full, the bad crap stays away for the most part.
Is it that I understand? Or excuse?

Hah pix, I walked out the door today thinking I never take my own advice.
Negatives fill my head because I justify them to fill the void.

I really think you understand pix.

I can do them all except for #1 damn my Virgo Moon, couple more hours it would have been Libra *sigh* but then it would oppose my Venus & Mars

Fine couple days earlier and it would have been Leo *sigh*

I have a love-hate relationship with myself. /

Youre right about the Virgo Moon, WaterNymph. It can be a tough one. I was almost a Libra Mooner too. *sigh* Maybe next time. lol

Thanks for that reminder SunChild.

I wouldn't know if this is a realistic goal for me. I've spent most of my life being trained by my toxic piece of sh!t family to hate myself, and to know deep down that I would never be or amount to sh!t.

Thanks for posting this SunChild. It's apparent to me that you are way more emotionally evolved than I am

I still criticise myself, but I am no longer offended.

I think a little healthy criticism is good.

a timely bump!
I have a customer who is really struggling, and I think she comes to me for my positivity.. but it is beyond what I can do with a simple contact. (Although it all helps)
It's simple enough (one page) that she would derive benefit without feeling overwhelmed. I will print it off for her.

I love that I posted in this originally!
My sentiments are probably exactly the same, although I am more accepting these days and less self defeating. (and more successful as a result)
