i've got a 4th house mercury too, sometimes i get so absorb in my own thoughts that i bore everyone around me, on the other hand, when i start talking they think i'm a bit

do you have other planets in the 4th house? or anyone else out there? i find what they say about 4th house planets in astrology books rather superficial - for example, dealings in real estate, a homebody...yadayada...not the depth i'm looking for

hey rainarcher

my mum also has a saggitarius mercury, she says the most embarassing things at the wrong moments about me...it doesn't happen as often with other members in my family....maybe because they also have saggitarius and an aries mercury

but this cancerian mercury gets to be the butt of her jokes

according to GRant Lewi, capricorn mercurys can hear the grass grow! wow imagine that! i think waht he's trying to say is you may come across as unemotional, and yet you do appreciate appeals to the senses...maybe you just don't express it publicly

linda also said that capricorns can be romantic

My mercury is in scorpio conjunct uranus and sextile venus.
I am airy in thought but think deeply about things and need to explore and research them intensely.
I love to create and write.
and um love thinking about way out things, the occult etc. but like to be going about it in an original way if I can.
I like to feel things because I put the logic to it and won't usually speak unless I mean what I say and have an intention to do so.
But I get very absent-minded.
And should I say it... matters of death and sex on my mind alot.

I keep noticing that people love to share their problems with me though I never give advice or even try to cheer them up somehow. Maybe the answer is Mercury in Cancer (in 11th hs) that trines my Moon in Picses making me seem sympathetic.

It also squares Libra Pluto in the 3d which I believe makes my words sound harsh at times.

Besides, Mercury is a part of a kite formation with MC in Taurus, Moon in Picses (7-8 hs) with Scorpio Uranus (in the 4th hs) being the focal point. But I have no clue how I'm supposed to use this energy. Any guesses?

Mercury in the Fourth House
Mercury in Virgo
Mercury Square Ascendant
Mercury Trine Jupiter

it's my only earth sign! it's makes me very detail oriented. i like to write out my thoughts. i like lists. i like researching things. i prefer thinking about what i'll say before i say it. i usually don't speak to someone 1st. merc in virgo in the 4th gives me an interesting, somewhat cryptic sense of humor.

i'm into astrology, connecting with people mentally/verbally - i simply must share my thoughts & findings with people or i'll explode! people who are here to help & heal others in a spiritual, non-traditional way inspire me.

p.s. Marion -

quote:
and a severe moon-saturn one emotional depression; I have been told that to remedy an afflicted saturn, all venus and neptune related activities (poetry, drawing etc.) should be cultivated

i needed to see this. thank you!! i have a tight moon - saturn opposition (they're both the same degree)! they're part of my t-square with venus as one of the focal points...

Mercury in Taurus in the 6th.

I wonder if this means that I have a slow, methodical way of thinking (especially at work), or if I'm just incredibly set in my opinions once I actually get around to forming them.

Mercury in the 11th - Mercury in the eleventh house

Your mental and communicative abilities will largely be applied to the pursuit of truth and profound knowledge. Mainly through the mental companionship of friends, or within social groups in a teach and learn situation. This position of Mercury strengthens the intellect, gives a good memory and a strong comprehensive mind capable of much hard work. Intuitive insights and original reasoning ability produce the occasional touch of genius - you often comprehend issues that others find quite incomprehensible. Your objective and original thinking can be used for the scientific investigation of advanced metaphysical concepts and humanitarian ideals - or other profound issues that could lead humanity towards a better future.

Sun in the 12th - Sun in the twelfth house

With the Sun in the Twelfth House your energy will mainly be applied to personal and private affairs. This may give you a shy, reserved, introspective disposition. There is a tendency to seek a secluded, peaceful, quiet life-style. The real drive is one of coming to terms with the subconscious mind and achieving mental and emotional well-being. Subjects such as mysticism, psychic research and depth psychology will appeal. A desire for useful service to the community may be fulfilled through work in hospitals, churches or institutions of leaning, professions such as psychology, art and literature are other possibilities. At some stage of your life you may have to overcome some form of physiological, social, or psychological crisis.

Mercury trine Mars
Mercury trine Mars - astrological aspect
Astrology aspects - Mercury trine MarsYour Mercury trine Mars shows that you have a lot of creative energy and the imagination to express it in many ways, although you sometimes lack the enthusiasm to do so. You know your capabilities and limitations and have enormous potential to succeed in almost anything you attempt. However, success never seems urgent enough to instill in you the desire to achieve. You cannot be forced to do anything you don't want to do, and no-one can deter you from what you want.

You have considerable depth of understanding, and the ability to concentrate when it is important. Well-informed on many subjects, you can hold your own in any conversation. You are inoffensive and friendly to everyone you meet. You can be trusted with classified information and would never reveal someone else's secrets.

There are many fields in which you can apply your skill in communication. Some of these are law, politics, public relations, education, writing, acting, and military service. Another endeavor that would prove rewarding is working with young people or children. You have the patience to cope with their boundless energy and the enthusiasm to stimulate them to achieve on their own. Whatever occupation gives you the most satisfaction is yours to choose. You are not intimidated by the excellence of your contemporaries, and you don't threaten those who are less skilled than you. You are equally at ease working alone or with people in large groups. But you can achieve the most worthwhile effects by working with groups, since your temperament lends itself to this.

You may also enjoy many avocational interests, especially crafts. You could become so competent in a craft that eventually you might make it your primary occupation. You have the talent for this kind of work and the imagination to succeed.

You enjoy the company of people who are not troubled with psychological hangups. Not one to interfere in the lives of others, you demand that others give you the same consideration. You will probably respond emotionally to a person who is creative and inspired, someone who would co-operate with you in a mutual endeavor suggested by either of you.

Mercury in 26Scorpio in the 2nd
conjunct venus in the 1st
trine MC in Leo
3rd house in Sagittarius/ Singleton Neptune in the 3rd
trine Moon
sextile Mars

I tend to think about things a lot. That's really the only thing I get jealous over is if people have more or better *things* than me. Or if someone "out thought" me. I also believe that knowledge = money and money = power, i strongly and firmly believe that. And always have, I guess my thinking is very "life and death" in apporaches to getting what i want. I used to have a eating disorder, sometimes I associate diets with Mercury because of the stereotypical health conscious Virgo thing...I think this placement gave me the ability and willpower to hate the actual consumption of food so much that I didn't do it anymore. I guess also with that venus conjunction in the 1st the desire to be envied and beautiful is there too but i think that played out more subconsciously than not.

im very interested in the occult, however, I love owning things about it. anything from...say urns, to astrology books, to anything wiccan..even tho i'm not. i love it. it fascinates me.

i also tend to have..extremely LARGE ideas/thoughts, unrealistic, out there ideas at that that I BELIEVE can work but they just wouldnt realistically fit into society..(neptune in my 3rd house). I've read about Merc in Sag and it fits me perfectly too..and maybe even better than Merc in Scorpio i wonder if that has anything to do with my Mercury pretty much being very close to the Sagittarius...and with Sag on my 3rd house cusp

its so funny you say that because right now transiting saturn is forming an EXACT conjunction with my leo moon... and a TIGHT opposition to my natal mars...

i have an 3 hour art class twice a week, something i've never even touched in about 8-9 years, let alone worked with. I love it, i keep saying its making me happy and it really is. i get to take the colors i paint on a page and transmit then inwardly to keep me from depressing myself too much...esp with Venus/Pluto progressed in the 12 and jupiter there

its kinda like...beating up saturn with the "sun" (gold paint)

I love talking about my Mercury:

Mercury at 17 Gem in 10th

-Conjunct Sun and MC
- part of air grand trine (rined Uranus in Libra and Mars, NN and Vertex in Aqua)
- pairt of a mutable t-sqaure (squared Asc and Pluto in Virgo and moon in Pisces)
-Sextiled Chiron in Aries

It also is prime dispositor by sign (lords over all!), and by house it also rules Jupiter and Neptune in the 3rd and Mars in the 6th.

I'm a writer, poet, musician, artist (painting and drawing), philosopher, theologian, astrologer, and teacher. I'm very cerebral, I like words a lot, I like working with my hands as a form of self-expression, and I'm ambidextrous. I have Asperger's Syndrome and am synesthetic. As a child I was hyperlexic and had savant-like abilities for playing music. I also have had several psychic and/or mystical experience throughout my life. I can speed read up to 100 pages a minutes in English, and I can read in seven different languages (although I can only speak in three). I have a IQ in the top 2%, a photographic memory, and very high level of mental activity and creativity. If I do not focus on my mental and creative needs, I can relapse into severe, even suicidal depression. I also had a mental breakdown in my early 20's right after completing my Bachlor's in music, but I'm much better now. I also have chronic problems with sensory hypersensivity and nervous fatigue(both issues are typical with Apserger's syndrome).

In short, I'm an neurolgoical freak of nature, although I don't think that's a bad thing.

Hi

Here's a Mercury in Aries in the 3rd house of communication!!!

I have a taurus sun/venus ... (venus is also in the 3rd house)

So ... I talk a lot and I talk fast.. this is unusual for a taurus sun!! When in love you can't shut me up Once you get to know me I will talk the ear off you and I make lots of (usually lame) jokes lol .. (also may be due to my chiron being in gemini which I read can lead to interminable discussions on my part .. which is true) ... I think and I analyse.. and I think some more.. I delve into problems looking for a solution, and I am only interested in the bottom line - no floofing around (from other people)... although sometimes when I get started talking I go off on tangents...
When in a relationship I am focused on my partner.. not sure why this is ... so my thoughts are predominantly about my partner and considering them all the time...'oh i can't do this, they might think this..' can be a bit of a burden I guess... and usually when I DONT think like this, I get myself in trouble with them lol .. so its a double edged sword really...

I think about astrology without even consciously knowing I am thinking about it ... with everyone I meet.. I remember EVERYONE's sun signs (and moon if I get to know them), even if I met them at a party 5 years ago and I can't remember their name ..

I think about what I should be doing, but have a proscratinating nature ... then I feel guilty for not doing anything.. then when I am doing something I feel guilty about not doing something else which could be more important ...

I overload myself and then get overwhelmed and can't do anything ...

I am learning to compartmentalise and focus but its hard ... I flit between subjects, interests.. and I will delve into something intensely, move onto something else (usually leaving the first thing unfinished) and I cycle through my hobbies like this ... its about a 2 year cycle between all my hobbies lol

phew.. I hope this is enough info!! just my aries thoughts rambling again ... oh sometimes I can be very direct and sometimes blunt (I tell it how it is, note: this is mainly in relationships.. I am more tactful with friendships/aquaintances)

I can also daydream about how I would ideally like things to be .. but not as good at actioning it out ... (as I said above I take on too much trying to achieve my objectives, then get overwhelmed and can't do anything..)

Hope I'm not giving TMI! (I am also very open)

Aspects:

Merc Opp. Moon (loose 9.5 deg applying orb)
Merc Trine Neptune (2.5 deg applying orb)
Merc Opp. Pluto (1.5 deg applying orb)
Merc Sex. ASC (loose 5 deg applying orb)

Hey guys! Being new to this site gives me a wonderful feeling of being free and apart of a group bigger than just a couple of spotlighted people. We all contribute and I like that
I have recently started putting an emphasis on Mercury in the Birth Charts so I find it amazing that the same has been done here!

I have my Mercury at 3 degrees in Gemini in the 12th house. It is in the Dwadachamsha degree of Gemini/Cancer and it makes a Trine to Saturn,a Square to the Moon, and a Quintile to Uranus.
With my Mercury in such a Position we can take this at it's most broken down aspect, the Quadruplicity and the Triplicity.
With the Mutable influence of the Gemini energy and the Cardinal influence of the Cancer energy the need to start as well as switch ideas constantly are a given. With Mercury in it's own sign it can be seen that we don't have to look elsewhere to determine what Mercury does but, with the Moon as the Sub-Ruler we may have to look to see. So I have my Moon in Pisces in the 9th house which would lend it's hand in not only my very sensitive nature and mentality but, to a sort of escapist mentality in which I wish I could just escape by going to sleep and staying in my dream at an amazing location. You see that these things are on and in my Conscious Mind and so it further helps to show the importance of Mercury,in my opinion it is not just our mentality and the way we communicate but it is also our Conscience.
With Mercury in the 12th house one would probably automatically assume I am quiet and that I keep things inside and while that may be true to some extent Having Leo on the 3rd house cusp allows me to shine at least in my given "Stage Set"(The 12th house, and the Sun in the 12th house). Mercury does not only make for me Communicating in a rather eloquent manner but, it helps me as a Medium and as a Psychic to be able to receive and act as a receptor to the information I get psychically and to actually put the information forth to the public(universally,12th house theme).

The Trine between Mercury and Saturn in Capricorn in the 8th house help to keep me grounded in these metaphysical matters as well as my Psychic and Astrological work and it helps me not to venture off into believing just anything such as faeries for example! lol. I just tell what's real and what I see and hear and know when it comes to psychic situations and it also lends to me working for free I guess and doing a lot of charity work in my life.

The quintile to Uranus in the 7th conjoined to Neptune is actually loads of fun. It helps me out with Telepathy and it helps my ideas seem fun and crazy to the people I deal with! It helps me stay intrigued by the "Crazy people",the ones who's minds are fun and out there, and it helps me to interact with them in a fun and creative way.For instance the manner in which my psychic work(mercury in the 12th) has brought me many wonderful friends randomly(Uranus in the 7th) in which I never would have known other than through that area.

The last is the square to the Moon in Pisces which can really be a great annoyance! Finding ways to use words for the way I feel sometimes is a task. I feel that my ability to feel energy in it's purest form and understand it that way which is non verbal exacts a challenge because words in this world are needed and without them one can not find themselves fully understood. So yea I have a bit of a challenge with this one.
Oh and with Mercury in the 3rd degree with the Sabian Symbol meaning:"Holly And Mistletoe Reawaken Old Memories Of Christmas"

That to me represents the thoughts(mercury) of wonderful and happy moments in life from the past that may have very well surrounded Christmas but, further more the representation of a good time and the "thought"(mercury) of that.

For me I can say that I do think about good times and state it often. I even discuss Old memories in which I saw Santa Claus and couldn't differentiate between the difference of a dream and real life at the age of 4. I clearly remember going to the window and opening it and seeing Santa Claus on his Sleigh with his reindeer and being soo excited to tell everyone what I had saw. Of course no on believed me but, I was 4!!

Til this day I honestly can't say whether I had such a Vivid dream of seeing Santa Claus or dreaming it.

My mercury is in Gemini in the 5th house which is conjunct my sun and saturn which is tightly conjunct my sun.

My mercury trines pluto and opposes neptune. I get into deep metaphysical subjects. Anything out there, hidden and deeply thought provoking gets me going.
