I know this might be the wrong forum but its the only one i know anyone in and i feel more comfortable posting here (so im sorry if its spam)I'm trying to think of good softrock-style love songs to learn anyone got any good ideas? Don't mention Richard Marx - i know all his stuff already (well..the stuff my meagre guitar&singing skills will let me play anyway!) As Mercy knows i recently ran into someone amazing and that explains my new-found terrible taste in music! hehe. ------------------ if electricity comes from electrons...does that mean morality comes from morons? Hmmm...if you wanna go really sappy, you could try John Mayer's "Your Body is a Wonderland"; I could e-mail you an MP3 if you can take a 3.93 MB attachment.IP: Logged |

Oh, oh - or Elton John's "Your Song" or Van Morrison's "Moondance", "Crazy Love", "Someone Like You", or, hell, half of his songs.IP: Logged |

Do you want the other ones, too? I mean, that is...if I had downloaded them, breaking copyright laws (cough), would you like them, if you, too, were a despicable law breaker?IP: Logged |

Oh, that's cool - to be honest I didn't pay enough attn. to the Diana thing. I mean, she seemed nice enough, but we on this side of the Atlantic already fought a war to get rid of the monarchy IP: Logged |

This'll take a while... My internet connection is painfully slow. If it frustrates me too much, I'll just wait til I can hook-up on campus to their network.IP: Logged |

Hee N_...when are you getting a new name? I never remember yours because it is so complicated .Power of love by Frankie goes to Hollywood! Definitely! Gosh there are too many! Never tear us apart by INXS, Angie by the Rolling Stones or..Stereophonics. Though that one is quite corny it is still excellent. One I really adore (at the moment) is how does it make you feel by Air. It is a realy easy one to play. If I understand the lyrics correctly it is a song about someone singing from somewhere in space. How does it make you feel This song makes me have goosebumps because it feels he is singing it directly to me. Romantically as I am, I am flying off with my alien . Yet it is a male voice so you won't have that same feeling I guess . The end of the song though is kind of a turn off. Aargh, maybe I just didn't really listen to the lyrics well enough (as always). The chords are very sensitive and that's what's important to me in love songs or any kind of song. They need to hit you right in the core of your being. May luck be on your side! IP: Logged |

Oh yes, and i'd better put up the fruits of my own reseach Celine Dion - Falling Into You Paul Young - Every Time You Go away The Verve- Sonnet The Verve - The Drugs Don't Work Richard Marx - Angelia Richard Marx - Take This Heart Manic St. Preachers - Tsunami Bryan Adams - Heaven Third Eye Blind - Good For You Lionel Richie - Hello Mint Royale - Dont' Falter And thats about it... well, my odd aquarian taste might leave you wondering what the hell most of these songs have to do with love...but just maybe listen to them again...alone, over a drink or two...and really feel them, then you may understand. ------------------ if electricity comes from electrons...does that mean morality comes from morons? If you prefer more non-commercial, not so well-known, I used to like this very much especially for its lyrics: "the Sage" by Emerson Lake & Palmer (great male voice; u can find this on "pictures at an exhibition", track: the old castle... am testing this right now - am melting...:I carry the dust of a journey That cannot be shaken away It lives deep within me For I breathed it every day You and I are yesterday's answers The earth of the past turned to flesh Eroded by time's rivers To the shapes we now possess Come share of my breath and my substance And mingle our streams and our times In that infinite moment Our reasons are lost in our eyes (If u play the guitar download the TABs!) If u feel sorry: "Regret" by Anathema
If u love awaking beside HER/HIM: "Do you dream of me?" by Tiamat If HE/SHE is so far away: "How does this make u feel" by Air If u are not so sure about HER/HIS fire: "when the sun hits" by the Gathering (Anneke van Giersbergen has one of the most beatiful voices!!!) and if u prefer to speak in metaphors: "Analog Park" (...u r the sign of my unbelief...) Oh dear the greatest testimony u can give: "Rescue me" by the Gathering (join me and see them live in Paris in December!!!) A facetous JiM says it openly: "Touch Me" by the Doors; the same more fragile: "The Crystal Ship" by the Doors So, how does it make u feel...

How could I forget this??? by Vast "Touched":touched you say that i am too so much of what you say is true i'll never find someone quite like you again i'll never find someone quite like you like you the razors and the dying roses plead i don't leave you alone the demigods and hungry ghosts god god knows i'm not at home i'll never find someone quite like you again i'll never find someone quite like you again i looked into your eyes and saw a world that does not exist i looked into your eyes and saw a world i wish i was in i'll never find someone quite as touched as you i'll never love someone quite the way that i loved you And this one for all Knowflakes who became crazy little dreamers by the force of....
Mistral Wind No wind when I took the watch My ship was still and waitin' I lay on that mirrored sky A restless sailor waitin' I closed my eyes said the Words of will for the gentle Breathin' that moves the seas Make my sails fill
Whisper waves cloud the glass Awake at last like a lover It rushed around the talkin' sweet Roll over, roll over, roll over And in my ear he blew his name It sound so strange but I heard it plain Mistral Mistral wind I have always held the wheel but I let the wind steal my power Spin me 'round lose my course Nights run be like hours Well, it would show me the way To the deepest mountains Too high and beautiful to be Mistral, mistral wind All the hours on the watch I wait for that breeze to move me And blow me back to that place Magic space all through me And I sigh your name Across the empty water You made a crazy dreamer out of me Mistral, mistral, mistral, mistral, Mistral, mistral By Heart (also: "Nada One", if u are sure about HIM/HER try "Straight On").
Oh I am sorry, but I have to add this (promise the last one) by Heart: Lighter Touch
Look at me, the answer is so clear Lying close by the fire place I wish that you could see yourself this way My love, with the firelight upon your face.
Ain't it strange how love put things together? One like you, someone like me. But no one ever moved me like the way you do And held against you, love I am weak, oh yeah Before us now, the dream of love is playin' A butterfly risin' from the flame You and me don't need no chain Since this feeling came to us A touch of love, a lighter touch This touch of love, this lighter touch, Than hands of love through time Reaching up to have and to hold you But you know I'll always stay If I Am free to go. You know I'll take Your love into my soul. Be lighter Touch of love this lighter, lighter Lighter touch IP: Logged |
