Hi Stella
Ewww I didn't really like her explantion of a retro Jupiter (Aries) in the 8th. I don't relate to what she says at all. I'm always told that I'm too honest and I'm too placid to threaten anyone with death

But thanks for posting it - it's always interesting to see what other astrologers have to say.

Well, according to de Bizemont we all behaved very naughty in our past lives...(Maybe not my husband, he has no retro in his chart...). If you read old astrology books they're usually very bombastic. I remember when my son was newborn, he has strong placements in the 8th house - a friend dug out a book that said he'd die at young age..Just what a new mum wants to hear...
This is the first book I read about karmic astrology. Cat, you probably know very well what Jupiter stands for and can see why de Bizemont writes what she does - and draw your own conclusions. Btw, I dreamt about Jupiter last night (see AR), it was soooo nice...

I burned my fingertips making gingerbread house with my kids..and the Neptun chapter is veeeeery long...But a strong Neptun would mean that it's in Pisces or 12th house, a singleton or otherwise stand out in the chart.

stella, I was wondering what de Bizemont has to say about Saturn in Aries, in the 3rd house. I baven't found a lot of info regarding this placement, especially because this Saturn shares the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury in the 3rd house in my chart. It's something that's causing me a wee bit of a problem, especially when it comes to my writing. If you could please give me some insight, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Nice work Stella-Bella! The typing, not the burning (I so warned you to be careful )

I just wanted to add my thoughts. I have to say I do feel strongly about -the died in war- thing. I have the 8 house cusp in Aries. You know that I am afraid of things exploding in my face?! Well, I haven't had this my whole life but it comes back all the time. Just now I was afraid that maybe my mobile phone (which is still in my bag in the hall) was going to give this big bang and explode! Or a monitor of the computer, aaaaah! I can just picture it and it is aweful! But hey maybe this doesn't mean anything (clearly it does, sceptic Virgo Asc. ). I was so afraid of bombs (or war) when I was younger. When an airplane would fly over, my heart would go BOOM BOOM, 100 beats per minute and I still have it occasionally. Horrible!
I also love the 30's and 40's decorating style and the music.

I know I have also lived in the dark/middle ages (many times I believe)in Ireland, Scotland and England. I adore Celtic music (makes me feel at home and centered) and actually almost everything about the UK. This aside now, the war being my last one (in earth-time that is).

I can see Pluto being close to the cusp of your 1st house, someone having been nasty or naughty. I know I have been, for SURE! Pluto is indeed 9 degr. away from the cusp. I was a very naughty girl once or twice ( But never was my intention to hurt anyone. Just curious and impulsive.

My retro's are Jupiter in 2 and Neptune in 3.

How are your fingers Stella?

Healing to them!

Wow, that is some great info you have...if you get a chance I would not mind finding out about Saturn retro in the 9th, Uranus in scorpio in the 11th, and Pluto retro in the 9th....I know it is a lot to ask, but I am sure my GF will appreciate it very much...

Hi

I have Pluto 23 retro in Leo in my first house. The cusp is 20 deg. Leo. Does this mean I was very bad in a past life?

There are also 4 other retro planets all close to house cusps.

What does all this mean?

Stella,

Too bad that you burnt yourself. Try some lavender oil, it is great for healing burns. Best to apply immediately, but helps later too.

Aen, thanks for the lavender oil advice! It reminded me that I have a kitchen cupboard filled with jars with oil made from St.John's Worth - which is fantastic against burns and wounds. Every Greek village woman picks St.John's Worth in the spring, dry it and then let it soak in olive oil for some weeks...and I've been doing the same, than I just forgot to USE it...St.John's Worth is called Swordherb in Greek because it was used to heal the wounds from swords..

Mercy, I was reading another book about Edgar Cayce recently and his readings showed that things we're really afraid of in this life, and can't explain, is caused by something that happened in a former life.

Well, since the way to get popular in Lindaland is to get an exciting book, I continue typing (with very slippery fingertips)...

Retro Neptun 2.house (short version):
In general, Neptun in the 2.house indicates dishonesty in former lives, cheating, abuse of public funds or illegal profits made due to a high public position. If neptun is aspected by Pluto it might indicate illegal activity. As a reaction to his excesses in former lives, the native might in this life be rigourously honest, or at least should try to be. If neptun is in Scorpio it can in addition indicate an experience with the police in former life.

Retro Neptun 3rd house:
"The memory of a cheater" might have been written by this native. because he has no scruples when it comes to cheat on his exams. At school and at home, his brothers and sisters get excited by the stories he tells. Superficial entertainer, he has not been able to establish a real relationship with the people of his generation. His habits of intellectual dishonesty, taken on in his youth, leads to a later personality based on fake - today he doesn't have a real personality. Deceiving his pals, those close to him, he's an oppurtunist that turns his coat at any chance (and not always for the best use, as his judgement is unclear). This position indicates a karma vis-a-vis brothers and sisters, cousins and fellow students, that the native should help caringly.

Jupiter 3rd house:
Because this house is for mental activity, one might think that the native has had school problems. On the other hand, his judgement is not sure. Refusing the necessary dicipline for studying, missing tact in his words, inable to behave. He doesn't have a belief, he refuses to take any religious vocation seriously. It can also indicate a selfish relationship with brothers and sisters. The native should now try to come out of his huge ego, forget himself and learn to ask for councelling. He should start by applying the good principles to those close to him - and not show too authoritarian at their consideration.

Jupiter 2. house:
This house, like one knows, concerns the possessions and the money of the native.
With Jupiter retrograde one can imagine that the native has been using his means in a bad way, that he's been using money for his own profit instead of for service for the society. Depending on the sign, the native has behaved as avarice or like a scandalous playboy spending all the fortune of dad. The native, in this life, has to reflect over the fact that money is both a responsibility and a function.

Retro Saturn 3rd house:
In some former lives, the native, sitting very high on his icemountain, refused to communicate with his equals. Probably he also had family responsibility towards brothers, sisters, cousins that he didn't fullfill. This is coming back strongly on him in this life and he has only one thing to do: To bravely help those close to him, not refusing them his affection, his time, his money. He also needs to learn to communicate without beeing agrresiv or hiding himself into silence.

Retro Saturn 9th house:
The native has certainly lived as priest or priestess, initiated or spiritual guide in former civilisations. One can imagine that his job wasn't a complete success - maybe he was intolerant, dogmatic or fanatic? It's a typical position of a inquisitor or farisee.

Retro Pluto 9th house:
The 9th house is the house of spiritual idees, civil or religious law and it's within this frame retrograde Pluto indicates the karma. Well aspected, the planet indicates only the continuation of a job that was interrupted in a former life. Maybe the native was a priest, a judge, a missionary? At his death, he was not satiesfied of his task, something was not finished. he wishes to start again in this life. If Pluto is bad aspected the native certainly has misused his power, either juridically or religiously, or both - in a period where they where mixed. Did he kill in the name of belief? Did his use force to get his religious idees through? The 9th house corresponds to Sagitarius, the sign of spain, and suggests former lives as inquisitor...In this life his must cultivate tolerance and not be surprised if he meets his former victims.

PUH!

Cinni, I also have Venus/Neptun and Mercur in 3rd house with heavy aspects to retrograde Saturn and Moon. I'm a writer and did very well when I was writing impersonal stuff - like newspaper articles. When I turned to fiction it became a real struggle to put Saturn aside and allow what I actually feel to get out - which is necessary in fiction. I think it helps a lot just to be aware of what's holding you back...and use Saturn in what it's good at: Discipline.

Stella, thanks for responding. I read what you typed out with great fascination. I agree with what you said about being able to write about impersonal stuff. I've always found it easy to write things in an objective manner - essays and articles - without breaking into a sweat. But when I started to venture into writing fiction and glean from my own personal and emotional experiences, I would choke. I would be completely paralyzed. It wasn't so much of a problem when I was in my 20s but when I hit my 30s, it just escalated. While my mind is spinning off themes and lines and situations and plots, my hand refuses to comply and put words to paper. I wondered about such immobilization and it came down to that I am scared. Scared of what other eyes would read into when I would give them something that means something so personal and intimate. The discipline part isn't so much of a problem; I sit and still fire off whatever comes to my head just to keep in practice but still...It is so hard to explain what happens. The ironic thing is I don't have this kind of problem when I write poetry. Perhaps because when one writes in prose, it's pretty much straightforward and not as allegorical as poetry can be.

I looked at my chart again, and re-discovered I have retros in Neptune (Scorpio) in the 10th house; Jupiter (Virgo) in the 8th house; Pluto (Virgo) in the 8th house; also both South and North Nodes are in retro motion. I was always told I was an old soul and it was something I would shrug off, but the majority of my life, I felt and still feel I'm in a constant state of deja vu. It's an eerie feeling sometimes, because it's like competing the past with the present and completing them at the same time. It leaves me with a feeling of being completely anachronistic at times and out of synch with my peers and the times. While it's an enriching and grounding experience, believing that one has been reborn, it is at times a lonely experience. Here's a question for those who can relate with what I've written: have you ever had an experience in which you met someone you've known in your past life? How did you deal with the situation?

I must thank you, Stella, you've started a very interesting and fascinating thread of an aspect of astrology that has always enthralled me. I had finished re-reading Tom Robbins' "The Jitterbug Perfume" and the whole concept of immortality and past lives have put my poor noggin in a heady soup, no pun intended. It's certainly food for thought.

Hi Stella,
First of all a Nice thank you for taking time to enlighten us
I know a Greek american second generation very well. He is very very intelligent. ALways questioning. I never had Ginger bread in their home. Will ask him to make it sometime Oh yeah didn't have spanakopita for a long time too. We have this restaurant near our place called 'Its Greek to me' they make the best one i ever tasted.

My aspects with Neptune are:
Sun trine Neptune
Neptune trine Pluto
Neptune trine MC

Is my Neptune badly aspected?

I am so glad I have Neptune in second house, this means i am not materialistic.
Its hard for me to believe what you interpreted from my charts.
I honestly was never after money.

My 8th house is cusp with gemini and
taurus. I really don't understand cusp of stars an house. but 90% of 8th house is in GEmini and the other in taurus.
Does this mean I died young in last life?

Cinni, I really recognize what you are saying about writing. I don't think it's fear that's holding me back, it's more a feeling of exposing something very private. I know people find me very open untill they get to know me - then they discover the big wall...And that wall has to be removed in writing (or any kind of art). In "Garden of Eden" Hemingway's main character (which is based on himself) struggles with writing and tells himself: "It's easy, just write it exactly the way it was". I think that can help sometimes. I know some writers pretend they tell something to a close friend, that doesn't work for me...I don't have any friends that are that close. Some Greek music really make it say click inside me and make all my emotions stream out in my fingertips...Once I had reiki healing and then I wrote good stuff non-stop for a week...

Ami, trines are considered harmonious aspects. The cusp of a house is where the house starts. Look at that line that separates the 7th and the 8th house - in which sign is it? That's the sign of your eight house. And the planet that rules that sign (Venus rules Taurus, Mercur rules Gemini) is the ruler of your 8th house.
I don't think anyone can say for sure that people with the 8th house cusp in Gemini died young. This de Bizemont writes as a possibility because Gemini is considered the sign of youth. It's the same with Neptun in 2nd house - no one can say that for sure you were a thief and a cheater in a former life, this again the writer states because the worse traits of Neptun are lies, while the second house is considered the money house. This doesn't necessarily means that you are a honest person in this life. You have the free will to steal and cheat and the free will NOT to do it.

All of this talk about Saturn and predictions about death...can I chime in too? I have Saturn retrograde in Virgo in my 4th house (though the ruler of my 4th house is Leo). I read somewhere that Saturn in the 4th means the last epoch of my life will be filled with difficulties.
Of course, it also said the younger years would be too, and they weren't exactly...

Also, the 8th house interpretations are very interesting! It always seemed like the 8th house was a bit darker than the rest...the ruler of mine is Capricorn. I have Venus at the very end of my 7th house (also Cappy), and a lot of sites interpret it as being in the 8th.

The other retrograde planets I have are Jupiter retro in Leo in the 3rd house (ruler of the 3rd is Cancer though), and Pluto retrograde in Libra in the 5th house (5th house ruler is Virgo).

Does your book shed any light on Capricorn as the 8th house ruler or saturn in the 4th? (just trying for a less gloomy interpretation... )

Thanks!!!

Thanks!!

Hi Oxychick! I don't have the time now to type out anything, I'll see tomorrow. But I wouldn't look upon Saturn 4th house so gloomy, if I were you...I don't know about your childhood: Did you have to take on responsibility early or was/is there anything in your home that is/was a burden? One person I know with this placement was raised to take over a farm which had been in the family for hundreds of years and she really feels this as a burden, an obligation. Saturn can represent grandparents - maybe they have/had a special influence in your life? As for getting old - remember Saturn is the planet of wisdom and old age. I've read somewhere that people with this placement often get very old.

Stella yes!
I have a very high opinion about Edgar and I do 'know' fears are from the past.
I wanted to comment on what was written about Neptune retro in 3. Interesting! I do not feel I am a cheater or a liar at present at all! I think I am the exact opposite! Though it is a focal point in my life BIG TIME (most of all in love relationships but that's not 3rd house)!!! I am 'suffering' my biggest tests in TRUSTING people and myself. I do feel I was a cheater in the past like I said before and this is why I was always so scared of people cheating me in this life (it is very deeply rooted). I was almost obsessed and convinced others were cheating while there was absolutely no reason for it. Plus situations come into my life which will test my honesty; Am I going to cheat or am I going to be ?
So see, there's interpretations for it widely. But Retro's are a focal point in life and major ones.
Plus I always fall for guys with strong Neptune placements. See what I am getting at? It is too interesting

Cinni asked if someone has met people from a past or past lifes. Well I am sure we all do all the time, only one has more impact than the other concerning the lessons involved, the agreements we made before entering this life etc...
To say this in short, I am currently very much in love (like a magnet) with someone I believe to have known in the past. It was like we picked up where we left, love at first sight, magic etc.. An enormous attraction, very dramatic. Before him I met a soulmate whom I love unconditionally, always have and always will. The time we were 'together' (not really because he is married but he was a colleague) really opened my eyes and I am forever grateful. So this was very, very spiritual!

Oh and one last thing. My view on Retro's or no Retro's. I think that us who have retro's have gotten a tool, like a hammer if we need to do carpentry or sissors if we need to cut but people without retro's have to find out themselves without the handed tools us Retro's do have. Doesn't make their life any easier.

Bless ya!
