I've been adding new, different things to my wardrobe lately, and I started wondering how much of my personal style is inspired by my sun/moon/ascendant combo. I'm a Gemini and I have lots of those multicolored striped tops; I LOVE stripes and bright, busy novelty prints. But my wardrobe also consists of tons of of solid black (to pair the busy stuff with). Last night I found a bright yellow/white striped sweater for $5, I was so happy because I've been looking for something in that shade since it's my favorite color, but it's hard to wear. I have a Capricorn moon, maybe that's where all the black comes in. I don't know about my Libra rising, but I lean towards clean-cut, classic stuff, not the ruffly see-through things that are popular now.

So how does your sign influence the way you dress?

Interesting topic.
My main priority when choosing clothes is whethor they're figure-flattering or not.
I do like simplicity, though, and I avoid high maintenance fabrics, and fussy layers.
Not one for prints really either. Mostly solid colors, but I do have some stripes.

For me, it's top, pants - Done. Usually pullover tops with v-necks and/or small collers. A little cleavage never hurt anyone. Slim fitting pants that hug the bum nicely are appreciated too

Colors...
I like reds, and corals and all dark colors, and I were alot of blue too.

I avoid "flashy" colors, with the exception of red.

And I HATE to iron.

And I LOVE jeans, especially low waisted cuts that are looser at the waist so they don't squeeze in an unflattering way, and I can were crop tops that show a little navel action. My b/f loves that.

*I'd live in jeans if I didn't have to doll it up a bit for work.

Having said that, I have to say I ALSO love the elegant special occasion attire. Just can't get enough of that... but I don't have enough opportunities to really get gussied up, unfortunately.
But when I do, I go for the "all heads turn when I walk into a room" look...simply dazzling is what I'm trying to achieve. (VERY Leo of me, I know)

Man, this sure is a girly thread! I love it!

BTW, Leo Sun, Venus, Mars, Mercury
Aqua moon,
Ascendant...Sagittarius (maybe Libra)

wonderful!

pisces sun/scorp moon/cancer asc

I have all solids in my closet. Mostly of the pastel variety lol. I love wearing light pink tops, also light blues and greens the colors of the sea I'm mostly classic with a few trendy things. The thing I look for the most though are the subtle feminine touches, like a bit of lace trim. I love being feminine, but I'm definitely not high maintenance

Tuesday, the gem I know wears yellow... (I'm not saying how well it looks on him as I promised I would shut-up about that). He does orange as well.

Also, he wears quite a bit of black, gray and white. Pants, shorts... jeans or khakis. Looks good in fatigues. Also, baseball caps.

Me? hmmmm.... no pink. I don't do stripes. I have quite a bit of black. Yet, I like for it to have a certain look as opposed to the goth look that we scorps get hooked with

I do have a few leather items (typical). Not the goth type of look.

All shades of purple (funny as I don't like pink) creams, whites... no particular color really. However, I do tend to gravitate towards black and wine.

Sun dresses... love those things... just throw on a pair of sandels and go.

I love boots.

Also, if it's accessories, I stick with silver tones. Just love platinum

There's really nothing specific that attracts me to a certain item. It either grabs my attention or it doesn't

I am a Sagittarius with Virgo Moon and Rising and I like mostly colours which are natural but I like most colours, it depends on the shade and the season. I like blue-green and lilac and pink and blue and I like certain shades of yellow but only in the summertime. And I like some red but I don't like prints very much, prefer solid colours. I mean, I don't mind small prints, but not big, flashy ones especially if they aren't natural ones. I like small flowers on a predominantly solid background. I don't wear stripes very often.

Hey, as a Virgo sun, Aries rising, Leo moon:
*I love cute skirts that show a little leg
*I'm a die-hard sale rack shopper, and feel five times better about finding a trendy top if it is at least 30% off (all that Virgo...LOL)
*I adore fitted clothes that show off my figure and give me maximum range of movement
*I HATE stripes, and think they look bad on everyone...except those pencil thin no-figure women (no offense intended, but I like enhance my curves, not make my body look wide and grotesque)
*I love peaceful colors, like blue, lavendar, and pastel green, but found myself drawn to the more feminine shades of pink lately (must by the progressed Libra kicking in)
*I HATE shirts that show too much cleveage, tight-enough to leave nothing to the imagination, or ones that are literally see-through.
*On a daily basis, I don't like wearing clothing thats fragile cause I'm too active and move too fast to keep it in one piece. I go for the sporty, yet distinctly female look.
*OK, and also find clunky high heels so fun to walk in...people tell me I walk like a lady....helps the posture and gives me a model feeling, which can't hurt

Chameleon, c'est moi all over... except I can't do pastels, I can't carry them off...

Okay, this AriesSun/CancerMoon/AriesAsc. wears lots of bright colours, tons of green, and lots of RED -- if the clothes are neutral, beige or taupe, that lipstick is red!! Scarves, often! I do patterns, but nothing large or splashy, although I will do bold. The style varies from business casual to formal to frothy to good ol' schlumpy shorts and the eponymous black pants, but there's one rule -- I hate dressing like everyone else. A lot of my stuff is either unique, or uniquely put-together -- thrift-shop retro or designer -- but my CancerMoon shows especially in the retro pieces I've collected, and wear... last year I went to a wedding, and we all changed later for the giant backyard cookout/reception, where I wore a black tank and shorts, with a 1960s yellow moiré pattern Jackie Kennedy-style jacket over it...

...I don't quite glow in the dark, but lately I've been shopping with my Libra buddy, trying to figure out how she manages to choose such _elegant_ clothing... mind you she's built like a clothesrack and I've got the hips of my Ukrainian peasant ancestors, so go figya we can't dress alike!

Fun girly topic

I like to wear sporty casual stuff, jeans and simple tops or ultra feminine dresses (think 1805) and skirts.

Fabric is all important. Things have to feel nice on skin.

I've noticed that I gravitate towards some colour for a season and then don't wear it again for years. No patterns usually. Small floral for skirts perhaps.

Things I keep coming back to are all different kinds bluish tones - from powder blue to navy. And purple as well. I also like to wear only black or only white. Quite a few people have commented that somehow white makes me appear more slender and more 'present'. Go figure. I just feel very comfortable and put together in white. In darker gray tones I can go anywhere totally unnoticed. If I were a spy, it would probably be an advantage.

I go very light with accessories. No scarfs, hats and stuff. A great belt perhaps. Shoes and boots are my real weakness. <sigh>

Heidi...yeah, gotta love the black leather boots with big clunky heels...I have a pair of ones that are knee high I love wearing with this certain slightly stretch knee length jean skirt that has a 6 inch slit up the front and back. Wearing them together makes me feel very feminine and flirty.

I'm an Aries. Almost everything I OWN is black but if I do wear a colour it's usually red

I guess my clothing is a bit eccentric. Everything from hard core punk to frilly new romantic to boring housewife! I do love shoes, though... anything that makes me taller.

WhychOfAvalon! Yeah baby yeah! Eccentric!

Me: Cancer- Virgo Rising Moon in Aquarius.

Funny, I wanted to add that yellow is a typicall Gem colour, mine wears it too and I adore him in a yellow t' shirt with (light)brown pants and Vans sneakers. It is not a trendy colour now and that's what I love! I like original stuff!
I wear absolutely anything (huh?? can I take that back?)! I too have a lot of black and it suits me but I don't like it so much anymore.
I love skirts and tight fitting cloths/tops. I also wear baggy skate pants with for instance a red, blue, yellow belt but I also own pantalons which I like the best!
*Light grey
*White
*Light blue and black are my favourites!

I never wear pink, doesn't suit me!

Sag Sun / Aries Moon / Virgo Rising:

I love clothes, but I always try to get things on sale and that are classic styles, at least for work. I am not much into total trendy, but I am always fashionable.

I love dark suits, with a skirt that comes up above the knee. Sometimes I will wear a much shorter skirt with a long tailored blazer..it tends to be flirty, but not skanky.

Most skirts tend to be short on me anyway since I have those characteristic Saggie long legs, which was a pain on college since most of my friends were between 5'2 and 5'6" and I come in at 5' 9" / 6 foot with heels.

I also have an ample top, small waist, but shapely hips, which can be a real pain when buying jeans or certain skirts. I also like to wear business slacks with cute button down blouses and during the winter, tailored blazers.

For my off time: I love jeans, khakis, summer skirts and shorts.

Colors: Solid - black, earth tones, dark blues, reds and some pastel, I do like dark pink.

I like clothes that fit, but I hate anything tight. Then I feel all constrained and all I can think about is stripping and being freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...LOL

And when I sleep....well if it's hot, then not much at all. LOL

Hey Pid, welcome back!

Fashion... hmmm... well being a man I shouldn't have much to say... but I wrote a previous post that got Internal Server Error because it was too long... Guess that says something...and I don't like the sound of it

Let's just say, I HAVE to be in style, when I shop for clothes... yes, I "shop" for clothes... I learned that an article of clothing has to "jump out at me" and say "I'm Tha Bomb, I'm Str8 Pimp Attire" and only then, will I purchase it...

I must shop alone, other people's opinions suck, whether it be a man or woman (yeah, I tend to make occasional mistakes because of the "solo" mission, but more often then not I do alright)

Although my stamina ends up fading. I HAVE to know the point of "Go Home Now!" My fashion sense starts to blur, I start to consider "okay" stuff, and catch myself asking opinions... Worst thing to do!!!

If the article of clothing doesn't say "I'm THA BOMB" to me, then it will be worn maybe once... and then sit in the back of my closet for years... and DAMMIT! I'm tired of wasting money.

I didn't really care about clothing until I started getting compliments on it, I've even had two women I dated say their interest started in me because of how I dress... then I kinda felt like, hey maybe I have style..?

I dunno, now I STRIVE for compliments, I don't "look" for them, but when someone randomly says, "That's a great..." at a party or club, in front of everyone, you just have to love it... once those comments start drying up I realize my clothes have passed their time, and it's time to have a completely new wardrobe... usually about every 2-3 yrs I donate everything to Salvation Army and start fresh.

And I get a perverse joy at each of these new opportunities to "reinvent" myself...worries me sometimes

Well, thank you Lost Leo. It's good to be back.

So you are a bit perverse about reinventing yourself? LOL... Actually, I think it's a good idea for people to do that in order to discover what they are really comfortable wearing and what looks good on them.

I change my style every so often, but I usually buy things that are classics and can change depending on the accessories. I am big on jewelry and just added some turquoise peices that I bought from an Apache lady that made them and also had the best fry bread on the planet!!!

Leo's, especially men, have a pretty wild sense of style. I sometimes chuckle at my Leo, because he will wear his comfortable shorts and cowboy boots to walk down to the pool (He could care less what people think). But then again he has very particular tastes about clothing: Wrangler jeans, horse hair belt, big ol' Rodeo buckle and button down cotton shirts. He will wear golf shirts during the summer with his jeans or jean shorts, but I have yet to see him in a t-shirt.

ah well, first off i don't own any dress clothes, except this summer-y dress one of my mom's friends gave me to wear to a wedding. but that's a differnt story. i'm strictly a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal. i'd describe my look as kind of "dyke-y emo" i guess. i don't care what people think as long as i'm comfortable. i wear a lot of earthy tones, not too many different fabrics coz most of them are itchy, or attract lint. i got one of those lint brushes tho, man those are neat.

hehe this is a fun thread.

buying pants is a NIGHTMARE!!! I'm 5'10" 1/2 and I hate buying pants. Almost always have to buy them through the mail for really tall women. I didn't own a pair of jeans in the past 10 years until last month

I did have a pair of black PVC pants, though!! Those were awesome. Oh wait.. I had some purple pvc ones, too.

Anyone been to "Hot Topic"? That's my favorite place to get clothes. Unfortunately they're becoming all too fasionable now. When I saw Lisa Marie Presley wearing my favorite safety pinned punk sweater on the MTV Icon - Metallica, I never wanted to wear it again.

I like Hot Topic but I think they're a little overpriced for my budget. I saw a shirt there last summer that I really loved, it was black and white striped, had punk details, and a black tie.

I hate buying pants too! Jeans especially because those are the hardest to take in. My waist is 25" but I have no hips and I'm 5'2" tall. I usually have to take in almost everything I buy.

Right arm, Lost Leo, for telling it about you and fashion! It's so refreshing to hear from a male who deals positively with looking good (the dreaded-by-most-males shopping thang), and gets into celebrating himself with how he puts himself together!

I find most Leos to be extra particular about clothes in their attitudes-- look, and total effect.

Does anyone know if there's any sign that's the Peacock of the Zodiac?
