I'm a gemini with 4th house aquarius. I live in a big appartment (3 familiy home) with lots and lots of windows, lots of light, wooden floors with just a few rugs and few curtains (although I live in the city we have an old landscaped property with lots of trees and only one neighbour). I have a roof terrace that I adore and my front room is about 90 sq. feet (35 sq. meters)...huge eat in kitchen...i love this house!

A mansion, no less, ala Master P's crib. If can't afford by age fourty, settle for a two-storey wooden shack.

Im an Aquarius with Cancer on the cusp of my 4th house. But most of my 4th house is in Leo and then in Virgo. I have Jupiter in Leo in the 4th house as well. What’s the effect of all this? I'm clueless.

When I was at school I tended towards renting out huge or homely spaces. Right now I live with my parents who have a moderate sized home with lots of small rooms. My mother and I have a habit of collecting lots of little things/junk that we have no room for. I always need to have the windows open to let in fresh air, even in the winter.

Ideally, I would buy my parents a new huge home surrounded with lots of huge trees, near the lake. For me, one home base near the parents, plus temporary dwellings in different parts of the world due to the traveling nature of my future career. Preferably in the himalayas, and the south and north poles. Ive always dreamt of living in an igloo.

Nackie that sounds wonderful!

Daydreamer, I know the feeling, I've got to have my space too. The more windows open the better.

Interesting topic.
Yes, I am a Virgo and love the Victorians.
I am in an apartment, and it's not my taste at all.
I love the idea of multi-story houses, radius windows, porches, large yards, barns, berry bushes, grape vines, near ocean would be wonderful, but realistically there isn't land near ocean, so you'd have a postage stamp sized yard. LIke someone else I need my room DARK to sleep. In fact, because my cats go in and out so much and I can't shut the door tight, I hung hooks over the door and then put a cloth shower curtain (in blue of course) over that. So it keeps out the light from the other room.

I wish someone could tell me what type of home I should be looking for. I'm about to have a nervous breakdown because of looking for a home to buy. I'm in the market to find a house, loft, or condo and have been having alot of trouble because I'm too open minded and it's bringing up issues like "I'm not married, I have no kids, what if I lose my job....".If I could at least decide on a which area, what type of home or condo, style, etc. that would make it easier.

I almost bought a house but it had electrical problems so I backed out after the inspection. I've stopped looking for a while and I'm certain my real estate agent is frustrated with me. I really feel this is the time to get a house, but I'm too scattered with the process.Any advice? Visions, psychic preditions, good advice, bad advice? any will do.

Thanks to anyone who replies

Well with 4th house Libra you may be undecided allright. Why do you want a house, if you don't mind me asking? If you are single wouldn't a townhome be more suitable? A single family home easts up a lot of money in expenses and utilities, even by yourself. Condos don't really belong to you, and you have get permission to do anything. I would stay away from those.

I was talking to a real estate agent recently because renovate real estate sometimes. We were talking about duplexes and triplexes, have you any cute duplexes in your area? That could cut your mortgage in half, and duplexes increase in value much faster than single family homes.

Townhomes do not increase in value as much as duplexes or triplexes. if this is your first home, you may want to consider the duplex idea if one is cute. Other than that I would recommend townhome, not condo or single family.

That has to narrow it down a lot. Plus find something well maintained, roof, heating and electrical and make sure to do a walk through before closing because lots of times you get stuck with garbage. Don't be afraid to offer 20K less in this market.

I don't know, but with all those water placements you would prefer to be on the water, and you like to travel right? With a townhome you could do that. With a single family home it's just too expensive to maintain, trust me. You can always sell in a year if you need to move up.

Here is an excellent resource http://homebuying.about.com/index.htm?terms=home+buying

Hi, it could mean you like to travel from home, or that teaching or writing is part of your home base. Your home base can be where you spend most of your time. With Taurus 4th house, you would be happy with lots of space, somewhere natural, and quiet. What is your ideal home?

Hi, ive got Jupiter in my 4th house too. In astro.com this is what it said...

Jupiter in the Fourth House 4th hs

Your childhood environment and home should be very positive, since this placement indicates that you will receive a great deal of emotional support from your parents and family. In general your early life should provide a solid basis for your adult existence, giving you a great deal of self-confidence and assurance. In particular, one of your parents is likely to be a very positive and outgoing individual with liberal tastes and a great deal of generosity, especially toward you.

Probably, even if your family is not well-to-do, your home is comfortable and pleasant, which will give you a lifelong taste for comfortable and elegant surroundings. You may always choose to live in a dwelling that is much larger than you really need, but if so you will share it with others, because this placement usually indicates that you like to extend hospitality to others.

One possible drawback to this position, but not a serious one, is that you may become very fond of collecting things, and as a result you may live in a clutter that is almost impossible to organize. Unless you adopt some kind of organizational scheme, your possessions will own you, rather than you owning them.

When you are older, you may want to own a great deal of land. Real estate transactions may be very successful for you, although you are unlikely to speculate in land, because you take its value too seriously to play with it.

also...
Jupiter was found in the fourth house at the time of your birth. This position tends to bring to successful completion all projects concerning family affairs. It favors the reception of wealth from your ancestors and brings peace and comfort to the final epochs of your existence. Nevertheless, the position is indicative that substantial success in the world won't be achieved until past middle age. Your character, disposition, and even private affairs will be considerably furthered in life by certain indefinite genetic psychological traits. Psychologically, you play the family role with a warm, generous, kind, and protective nature with little dogmatism or severity. You have received from parental sources a sense of benevolence and humor that prove very helpful in avoiding psychological "hangups" during life.

(Personally, I found half of this to be true cuz i've got oppositions with Jupiter)

On bobmarksastrologer.com, it sounds to good to be true...

Jupiter in the Fourth House: will either be the parents favorite or a spoiled only child. This placement is the most likely of all to retire in their 20’s or 30’s and lie on the beach in some tropical paradise. If you have this one, I hate you. You really need a larger than normal home (or one with a great view) or you’ll feel claustrophobic. Later in life, you will tend to travel, study, or both. Aside from the fact that he thought he understood everything, Daddy was a jovial type.

And for Jupiter in Taurus:

thinks that every problem can be solved with more money (thanks to Frank Signorella for this one). The philosophy of life tends to be materialistic. Unless something else interferes, the general philosophy of life will be materialistic

Due to 1st/7th house interceptions, I have both the 3rd and 4th house cusps in Gemini, with Mercury and Mars in the 4th (Mars at beginning of Cancer)...so my home reflects both signs.

Moved around a lot when I was younger; loved growing up in the city. The only dwelling that bothered me was one apartment I lived in for a year - - on the second floor with people above and below - - it made me claustrophobic. Finally I put down roots where I am now, a moderate sized ranch in a rural area, with lots of windows, lots of books, lots of activity, kids, pets, family, backyard birds and other critters. I'm always changing something in the decor, yet consistently keep it "cozy". The house itself has had an addition built onto it and I've really enjoyed incorporating the "new" part into the "old". From the outside it appears like any other ranch home, yet inside the layout is one of a kind...a dichotomy that appeals to my dual nature.

Now if I could AFFORD it, I'd also have a cabin in the mountains with a lake nearby, a cottage by the sea, and a house in Vermont like the one in the movie Baby Boom (with housekeepers, lol).

thanks sthenri,
I have been thinking about the same issues you've mentioned. I do like the water and will travel. A townhouse or loft would be ideal, though townhouses are pretty much like condos (with the rules) out here except for the style. The prices are pretty much the same as a house if not more. I can see myself in a house -- without the responsiblity of snow removal or cutting the lawn. A duplex is practical, however, I am not the type of person to be a landlord. I've thought it through over and over-- I guess time will tell.

Kat, Call me Natasha!

Twin Lady, the funny thing is if you had all those other places you would get tired of them too. I have found no matter where I live, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. A lot of people have summer homes, or trade homes for a few months just to see what it's like. I have done this a few times and then lost interest in that place. It's a good thing I didn't buy then.

Now I would only buy for investment, but I am cautious about being reponsible for another home that is full time.
It's nice to visit Vermont, the mountains, the ocean, but living there is so different. It sounds like you have the ideal home right now.

Traveling is helpful to relieve the stress of living in one place.

I still want to live near the ocean part of year but I don't care how, houseboat, boat, cottage, I'm not picky anymore.

Has anyone lived in a houseboat? or on a boat part of the year?

Natasha

Natasha, you're probably right, lol. I've certainly put enough time and effort into my home as it is and honestly, if I never live anywhere else I wouldn't mind at all. But I definitely want to experience Vermont in some capacity sometime; especially in the Fall. I guess a good B&B for a week every so often would do the trick.

Twin Lady, Vermont is beautiful, especially late September/early October. The foliage is pretty much gone by the second week of October though. B&B's get booked up, try renting a cottage, or house for a week, the price is the same and the locations are better.

Looking forward to fall and the cooler weather,

Natasha

Natasha: I have a friend that lives on a house boat It's cool!

He has lights streamed all across it. Can spot it from quite a distance on the lake. The flaming boat!

I always enjoyed going to visit and having early morning coffee with him. The early morning fog with the sun dancing across the water. Very relaxing.

He likes it
