Simon J, the ending was probably happy for him but it was horrible for me But that was over a year ago and Saturn was sitting right on top of my sun (and mercury was rx to complicate matters). I never thought the day would come, but I actually don't miss him anymore, although I still wonder what he's up to nowadays. I'm much better now

However if I saw him again, all the healing would come undone and I'd probably fall again.

Wow everyone is dead-on with these Pluto/Venus aspect descriptions! The weird thing is that with this guy, he made me feel really beautiful and I felt great about myself physically because of him. Lately though I've been feeling really unattractive again. I can't wait till fall so I can go back to hiding safely under my long leather jacket. Anyone else with me?

I LOVE SCRAPPY DOOOOOOOO. He is my total favorite. Well, and I also love Speedy Gonzales and Pinky, from Pinky and the Brain.

I'll bet Pinky has Pluto in the first house. LOL

Simon's question had me put my thinking cap on. Because I have VenusGem too, square Pluto in Virgo. I think of the Venus-Pluto square as the shotgun wedding of astrological aspects!

I've learned to love square aspects -- I consider them learning aspects, as your own conflicting energies attract corresponding conflicts until you wise up! So I'd say that a Venus square Pluto learns a lot about passion, control, obsession, manipulation, digging deep, and a certain kind of charm or sexiness (Antonio Banderas has a Venus-Pluto square). As instant karma proves, any negative behaviour will create its own blow-ups, and so we learn to handle the sometimes incompatible blend of energies. Never a dull donut, anyway.

And like everyone is saying, handled well, it's a dynamite couple aspect -- at least there would be passion!

But the generational component is interesting; it never really occurred to me that there might be a Plutonic overtone to early or current interactions with my peers. That makes sense to me -- I certainly am a political person -- and among my true friends, few were born in the same year as me. Hmmm. With this question I have to wonder now, if the overall incompatibility I experienced with peers (I could not wait to get out of primary and highschool, and did best in school when I went back as a mature student -- away from my peer group) might have been a Venus (personal tastes) vs. Pluto (transpersonal power drives) scenario.

But the orb of influence would be important -- meaning, how close or exact the degree of the other person's Pluto squares one's natal Venus. Let's say, for example, that Simon's Venus appears at the end of a house, say at about 25:00 degrees, and the other person's Pluto in Virgo is at 12:00 degrees. While it's a square by sign, it's only a very "loose" square and so the effects are no way as overpowering. Pluto spends 12 years transiting a house (transiting 3 degrees per year), so yes there would be a large group of people born with Pluto at 25:00 Virgo with whom he potentially could have Venus-Pluto conflicts, but except for this group at this degree or nearby, I wouldn't worry too much about being in Plutonic generational conflict with everyone born with Pluto in Virgo!

I say, if you like someone, no matter what sign, it's because you have something to learn from them. I went through some astrological Mr. Wrongs, and I think I'd do it all over again, for all I learned from each relationship. You'll never know until you try!

Don't mean to cut in, but on the subject of Pluto, I have a Venus/Pluto conjunction in my natal chart. They are both in the 2nd house along with my Moon. Moon and Venus being in Libra (Venus 29 degrees) and Pluto in Scorp. I have heard all of these in 2nd house mean fluctuating finances. Can anybody comment on this?

I think so, dorkus, but the absolute talent and saving grace in your heavily tenanted 2nd/finance house, is that the Venus-Pluto conjunct means you have incredible will power to succeed in the area of material resources/self-esteem. If you want something and go for it, you can really go for for it! You can make things happen, and people will might be happy to help you out -- nice Libra Venus icing on the intense Scorp cake, so to speak. The planet to watch is your Moon there -- that's the big fluctuator. Don't let your shifting emotions destabilize your longer-term plans, or worse, sabotage them. However, it could also help you to recognize opportunities and jump on them -- with your Pluto, mwahaha. They'll never know what hit 'em...

Waving 1scorp & Cat & Pidua

Speking of strenght..

I have 12/1 hs cusp Pluto aspecting Asc, Sun, Moon, Marcury, Mars, Jupiter & (naturally) Neptune. It is sort of giving "finishing touch" to almost anything I do.

Whenever I have to go to through the hell, I just *know* I'll make it to the other side. I just have this sense of survival and necessary resolve. Faith that is quite different from Jupiterian 'it must work out eventually' optimism.

Hi Aen Hi 1Scorp
Waving bacatcha

I read somewhere (can't remember where - that's my Sag Moon chucking away my Virgo lists ) that Pluto in the 12th is the best at rising from the ashes like a Pheonix and eventually soaring like an Eagle I do believe that to be very true and know that I do have that capability within me. How about you two, do you relate to that?
Sue

PS: I'm currently still hovering just above the ashes but am on my way up again

Hi Simon J,

This square aspect entirely depends on what size orbs you are using (distance between the exact points of aspects). Descriptions of whole signs are usually in very general terms in relationship with other signs of the Zodiac.

Most astrologers will ask you at what degree and sign your Venus is in and compare this with another specific individual, event, etc. to get the angles, degrees, and houses down correctly.

If you are following the format of Relationship Signs of using whole signs, then I can safely say aspects are only rough estimates.

Your Venus does not make a square with everyone with Pluto in Virgo. It can even make sextiles. For example, my Mercury at 1 degree Aries makes a sextile aspect with my Moon in Capricorn at 28 degrees. Sextile angles are approximately 60 degrees.

Think:

28 degrees Capricorn is at the very end of the 30 degrees of Capricorn. Almost into Aquarius. This represents 2 degrees.

Aquarius is next. This represents an additional 30 degrees, as each sign has 30 degrees.

Next, Pisces. Another 30 degrees tacked on.

Mercury in Aries at 1 degree is very close to Pisces.

The exact Sextile is 60 degrees. The orb (distance between the two points before they make an exact angle) is 3 degrees.

Simon J,

An opposition aspect is a 180 degree angle between two planets. Two planets that are opposite of each other. Learning the signs is a good way to determine oppositions. Then knowing the degrees of each planet will help determine if they make this aspect.

For example:

Cancer and Capricorn are opposite signs.

I have Jupiter in Cancer at 29 degrees, and Moon in Capricorn at 28 degrees. These make an opposition aspect as they are at 179 degrees apart---the planet that moves faster is quoted as the one that determines the orbs, in this case it's the Moon. The orb here is 1 degree.

Hi Cat,

Hear you!

I'd guess this Pheonix imagry suits best for Pluto in Leo and Pluto in Scorpio.
Mine is in 29 deg Virgo and it also sits on my 29 deg Virgo Asc. Technically nPluto is in the 1st hs but it is retrograde and has now progressed to the safety of 12th.

My best friend (True Leo Queen) has a way with words. And we both like to describe people (or situations) by using imaginative symbols. I once asked her on how she sees me.
She gave the following picture:
"A cat and the abyss. The cat is really only one who can actually see the depths and find the way. She likes it there. Particularly when the frequent underground earthquakes change the shape of the abyss drastically and she has all the new routes to find."

I think this "underground earthquake" describes earthy Pluto very well.
