What I mean is, is it your Sun sign, your moon sign, your rising sign, or something else, that seems to carry the most weight in your day to day dealings?I once read that you progress to identifying more with your moon sign over time. So the reason I'm wondering about y'all is because I'm honestly coming to believe that my Aquarian moon is the "heavy hitter" in my daily life. How about you? What "light" shines brightest in your personality right now? Sun, Moon, or Rising? IP: Logged |

Lioneye, something I`ve pondered too. If I was to divide my life into thirds, it would be the first 1/3 was my Aqua. sun ruling. The second third would have been Cappy rising and he ruled strongly. And this third Virgo moon is taking charge.. I just wonder what the next 100 years will be as they can`t blend happily; can they juniperb IP: Logged |

I'd say my sun, . Next would be my Mars and jupiter, . Then perhaps my two sags, uranus and neptune. My moon is aries, and I'm not.. Okay, so I'm dominant in -some- ways. But I'm extremely passive over that. IP: Logged |

I think that the element having the most control changes as we grow. Our ascendant has the most control when we are growing and developing, keeping us safe from an environment that we are not mature enough to handle. Next I think that the Sun becomes the most important, as we become strong enough withgin ourselves to start to display those charactyeristics. As far as the Moon and transiting Outter planets, I think that they have a control over our lives throughout. Just my 2 cents Lanny IP: Logged |

I agree with Lanny My asc & Sun are in the same sign - so with me "what you see is what you get".Just to add to that though ... I find that sometimes I'm more my Venus, other days my Saturn etc, etc...and some days just I bounce around between my different planetary placements. Sue IP: Logged |

Lioneye-great topic. I think I'm a good equal mix-reactions tend to feel kind of moon and on the surface I think I can exhibit some traits of rising, but inner drive feels very sun/mars/mercury. Cat, I think I feel my Venus too sometimes. Like today. IP: Logged |

Thanks, Oxy It's something that I've been mulling over for the last few months. This groovy hangout has made me ponder many a-new things and I love it for that.Oxy, if I could meet a man with your astro make-up, I'd be set. I'm Leo sun,Aqua moon, Sag ascendant, Gem descendant. Juniper, I don't see why those three couldn't blend. Aqua, Cappy, Virgo that is. They don't necessarily offend one another, so they're distinct without being markedly agitated by each other. You have 1 of each quality (Fixed, Mutable, Cardinal), so you're lucky to be a nice balance IMHO Oxy, opposing Sun/Moon is a rather challanging aspect to have, don't ya think? I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I think it makes me very indecisive about important things, which can be stressful. Honest to Pete. IP: Logged |

Oh, and I also wanted to say, that when all three lights blend very naturally, it can be hard to tell where one stops and the other starts, like in the case of trines. Obviously, those with conjunctions, even if just by sign, not aspect, are less conflicted about who they are in general. That's not to say you're not conflicted about your relationships with other people, but I would think you'd have a pretty good sense of self. Is that fair to say Cat? Lunargirl? Whomever else?IP: Logged |

Hahha, and I'll bet that if I could meet a man with your astro make-up, I'D be set! Yes, opposing Sun/Moon influences seems kind of like a struggle sometimes. I feel it the most with my emotional reactions to things, which are sometimes very Leo-like, but in my head, I feel differently. I think it can sometimes create problems with setting priorities and balancing what you value. Does that make sense? I think I can definitely be indecisive about important things. Then I just shrug it off. lol I think I've mentioned to you before that a couple of my closest friends have been Leo Sun/Aqua Moon. Right now, I'm becoming close with another Leo Sun/Aqua Moon. Oddly, at first I was a bit taken aback and felt I couldn't read her, but I genuinely like her and we're finding that we say a lot of the same things and have very similar views. Hmm..my Aqua Sun/Leo Moon/Sag rising buddy just broke up with her boyfriend who happened to be born less than an hour before me. Maybe I could hook it up? Eh, she'd kill me. LOL Leo/Aquarius/Sag sounds like a very charismatic mix! IP: Logged |

I'd say that my leo sun, saggitarius moon, and saggitarius rising all show up a lot during the day. for example, i don't usually think before i speak (i'm working on it!), i love cats (leo sun), i'm vain sometimes, and i find funny things in not so funny situations (sag moon). IP: Logged |

Interesting question. When I was very small my Scorp Moon definitely dominated; I was very serious and felt everything so intensely, it seemed like I was angry a lot. Through my teens and early 20's I was very much my Gemini Sun; friendly, outgoing, talkative and fickle! Always on the go, always changing directions. As I've gotten a little older, I seem to come across more like my Pisces Ascendant which has at times been unfortunate because some have seen me as this harmless, gentle soul that can easily be taken advantage of. I'll take the mistreatment for a long time...then the Scorp Moon takes over and strikes back, always shocking the perpetrator. I'd have to say that inwardly, I feel the Lunar Scorpio influence most, though it seldom shows. Hope that makes sense, because it doesn't always to me, lol. IP: Logged |

Hi, I felt that my Sun and Mars were very strong as a child, and my Mercury. I was very active and wild, almost uncontrollable for my poor parents, the exact opposite of my siblings. My mars is Sag conjunct my Ascendant in Sag so that affects me the most. Then mercury in Gemini makes me talkative. As a teen I became more of my Cancer moon brooding, drawing and writing. For the past 7 years I have been very much the Cancer Moon, and Taurus Sun, but this year I am more the Mars in Sag again, I am becoming rebellious and doing more creative work outside the home. I am traveling all over the place again and looking at a vacation cottage. I feel the buried child has come alive again. The fire signs are very strong in my chart, plus a lot of virgo, including virgo on the midheaven, are asserting themselves very strongly. Thinking about marital arts again. Saw the new Jackie Chan movie today, The Medallion, very funny, and I love the action scenes. If I had been a man, I would have gone for martial arts more. Did some karate but would like to get back to that. Natasha IP: Logged |

I wanted to say that until 6 or 7 years ago, during my Saturn Return I didn't think like a Taurus at all, and I'm not very Sag like. Most people think that I'm an Aries, or a Gemini.Natasha IP: Logged |

Twinlady we have pretty similar planetary trends. When I was young my Piscean moon held reign, even into my teenage years. Not until my late teens did my Gemini ascendant become more prominent. I’ve definitely had the Aqua there throughout (sun, mars, mercury) but not expressed outwardly as much until ascendant came out Had (and still have) a thing for a Leo man (Libra moon/Virgo mercury/Cancer venus/Sag Mars). He seems like the perfect package, he's absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately, someone got to him before I did...urrghh...he’s married. Yeah Natasha, i wouldn’t have guessed ure a Taurus sun if u never said so. You seem more like a Gemini to me.

question, Lioneye! Whoakay... you said: quote: ...when all three lights blend very naturally, it can be hard to tell where one stops and the other starts, like in the case of trines. Obviously, those with conjunctions, even if just by sign, not aspect, are less conflicted about who they are in general. I agree that when there are easier aspects between the three that this creates a flow between compatible or complementary character traits & drives, and creates less conflicts -- because we don't contradict ourselves as much in words and deeds, or freeze, or get agitated, etc. But the conjunction, IMHO, doesn't exactly confer a sense of self -- it's more like it defines self in a big way. Conjunctions create such a powerful, mainly integrated driven quality, that most people don't have much conscious control/awareness over them -- it's the area where they come on strong. I have AriesSun conjunct TaurusJupiter, and believe me, I am a born optimist -- almost a compulsive optimist. Conjunctions are so automatic that it's actually hard to think about your own, and how they function, even if you can say 'yep, that's me'. I have a pal with a stellium (SagMoon/Merc/Venus/Mars), and she has more of a sense of what she wants (drives), than a sense of self. In fact her sense of self is often quite hidden to her. She's fully herself, but not consciously in control. Am I splitting hairs or do you see what I mean? I think right now I'm still doing a balancing act between my Asc/Moon square, and my Sun/Moon sextile. So -- I'm actually more okay than the way I come across! LOL But I'm a poor example for this discussion, as my Moon is so prominent and very aspected -- hence my nick! -- plus I'm AriesSun/Asc, and like Cat I'm WYSIWYG. In general in natal charts I've found aspects to tell a bigger story than Asc/Desc or the lights, but I also agree with Lanny and Cat. I wish I knew more about progressions, however. cheers, Lunar IP: Logged |

Hmm. Yeah, I see the distinction you're making, Lunargirl. Not so much a reinforced sense of self, but definatly a more decisive person in terms of goals, preferrences, life choices. Is that right? In my case, that Sun/Moon opposition is probably what has prevented me from settling down with someone yet, as I can seem to find someone who addresses both parts of me sufficiantly. One or the other has to be supressed in order for the other one to shine, or be nurished. If anyone knows any tricks to help successfully integrate a sun/moon opposition I'd simply LOVE to hear them! Oxy, Re: sun/moon opp. quote: I think it can sometimes create problems with setting priorities and balancing what you value.
You nailed it, girlfriend! Difficulties in figureing out what your priorities are is one of the biggest drawbacks to it. And that alone is the root of all the other symptoms. IP: Logged |

'Zackly, Ms. lioneye -- a person might have a shaky sense of self but their conjunctions would make them seem as if it was strong, when what they're doing is just coming on strong. In the end maybe the result is the same from the outside -- pretty solid -- it's just the internal experience that's different. I find that light and inner planet conjunctions are quite visible in a personality, even when conjunct an outer planet, but the outer/outer planet conjunctions aren't -- except as vague generational markers. As for the Sun/Moon opposition conundrum, I once read that the "remedy" is to find people who have planets in the squared signs, who help "fill in the gap" when an opposition does its flip-flop thang. In other words, we need other people to help us integrate our oppositions (I'd love to have Cat and Lanny's take on this, BTW!). So somebody with stuff in Taurus and Scorp would be helpful in your and Oxy's cases. I have a Merc-Neptune opposition in Taurus/Scorp, and all my partner's Leo-Aqua stuff is verrrry helpful when I'm flipping around like a Comedy/Tragedy mask. His comments and different approach are grounding when I lack perspective. I don't think it has to be the other person's Sun or Moon that helps this out, as he's a Gem (in more ways than one ) -- other planets would do, although an opposing Pluto might be too intense! FiReY leo 1, that's a lotta fire! Be proud, man, be prrroud! SagMoons are great - so funny, I appreciate them, although that Moon and mine (Cancer) couldn't be more different! Like, from different planets, different! LOL! purplezen -- is denial very Virgo? Just jokin'. (<-- my denial) Lunargirl IP: Logged |

Actually I've heard that when we're really under pressure and we almost snap, we tend to mutate to our opposite sign in the way we deal with things. Like me, being a Leo, I may act detached and humanitarian and philisophical when under extreme pressure, more like an Aquarius would act. It's like the energy is sort of elastic like, and when outside facters put us in a "fight or flight" mode, it pulls at the energy, which is our astro makeup. So the energy is being pulled at, and it reaches back into the other side of our axis, which is your opposite sign. You're on the same axis as your opposite sign, so you really are "cut from the same cloth" with your opposite sign. It's a unique dynamic.IP: Logged |

Lioneye I have read that too, when actors act they almost always portray the opposite of their sun sign, as if they are acting out their polar opposite. It's true when I am acting up, I will be a Scorpio all the way. Natasha IP: Logged | |
