I'd love to hear from anyone who has this placement themselves, or knows someone well who has it. - to discuss the effects.

Thank you.

Who can do the job at least (and hopefully better) as well as I can. Hard to find when your born perfect.....not ha haha

So is it like a part of you thinks you're out of control, and you need that someone who can sort of ground you? If you DO find that someone you can look up to, will you resent them eventually?

A.J.

Its all in strength. I know I'm strong. I've had to be, no choices there, but what I meant was I need for someone to pull thier weight, give me a break sometimes I can't be all things at once (though I sometimes try) Classically mars in the 7th shows that an aries (mars) type person works for you. Independant, competitive, someone who can lead. If this is in a mans chart those are traits he is drawn to especially the independence. As far as out of control goes, NOBODY has ever been able to control me starting with my mother, that has always been up to me, and believe me I've been there where I've had to make those hard choices, but coming from a supportive family where love and tolerence are the norm, I've gotten the sence of Wanting to do right, not want to hurt or dissappoint my loved ones. but that part has nothing to do with mars in the 7th. Oh yeah theres the sex issue, Tarzan and Jane can be fun (not exactly that) but you get where I'm going with that.

Sorry I just reread mine, what I meant by if I rule was if I dominate. If i tell him to go wash dishes and he runs to do it. In the end his word has got to veto mine even if he is a bit calm.

Gloria, Mars in the 7th is harder to express. Mars is about the ego and you first so you feel more comfortable expressing other people's needs and desires. You would work well as a promoter for someone like Janet Jackson, playing politics or even counseling others.

It can make you incredibly talented verbally,
My ex had this placement and he could sell snow to Eskimos and everyone trusts him. He is good at promoting others, and has a big support system. It has paid off in the end, as he is comfortable and well off through his connections and friends. He taught me how to verbalize my needs.

WOW...

This is all so very interesting, about Mars in the 7th.

I did some reading on it too, and it's consistent with what is being said. But learning too from your experiences.

I have Mars in the 7th too (Scorpio). In relationships I like having someone I can look up to AND I tend to want to be the more dominate partner at the same time. I always want to find someone who has a stronger personality than mine, who is more competitive and has a leadership style in their work but NOT with me. I totally understand the post in here about needing someone who can sort of ground you, as that is what I look for in a mate, but when I do find that I do end up resenting them. I definitely do not want someone to control me, just someone who is strong, can stand their ground.

And I relate to the promoting stuff, I did that 2 years ago with the music stuff and did very well (for free!).

"Mars in Aries -

This is a very impulsive position of Mars. The first instinct for Mars in Aries natives is to take action. Quick flare-ups characterize the Mars in Aries character, but their anger usually doesn't last for too long. In fact, these people generally don't live in the past, and are not given to holding grudges or feeling resentful. Generally, their temper comes quickly, and they deal with anger on issues right away--with this kind of character, there is little room for festering.

When Mars in Aries people listen to their instincts, they generally get things done, and they make fast and (usually) decent decisions. They don't naturally stop to smell the roses--or consider others' point of view--when they are deliberating over what to do next. In fact, "deliberation" works at lightning speed for these natives, so they could hardly be called deliberate. Spontaneity is one of their assets; as are simplicity, purity of action, and innovation.

Mars in Aries natives are often a step ahead of the rest of us. A life that is too predictable makes them antsy. Mars in Aries people enjoy starting fresh--new ideas, pioneering action, and fresh projects make them happiest. They generally enjoy challenges. Relationships with these natives can be exciting, but keeping up with them can be difficult. They are given to impulsive action, and they are not known for sticking things through. Although their physical energy is great, they can lose their initial enthusiasm quickly.

Mars in Aries natives are easily irritated by indirectness from others. They expect others to say things straight--no beating around the bush. They easily become impatient with convoluted plans, or with people they consider to be slow to action. Most people with this position of Mars have a childlike quality to them. Sometimes they're downright rude and impatient, but with Mars in Aries natives, you generally know what they're after. Unless Mars is afflicted in the chart, you can also pretty much trust that they don't have hidden agendas."

"Mars in 7th House -

The Mars seventh house placement often shows problems in marital relations and in dealings with business partners. You may get married at a young age, or too quickly without due forethought. The marital partner, close friends and business partners are likely to possess aggressive natures, and impulsive behavior stemming from these relationships is predictable. This is a good position for work in sales, because you are very competitive. In this field, necessary tact in dealing with associates must be learned."

Mars in the 7th initially means:
I am not....male, masculine, agressive, assertive, etc.

It is projected on others, so you look for those qualities in others, pretending they are not yours. You may find the other challenging you to find them in yourself.

Astrojunkie i liked your take on mars in the 7th. I have that placement and i definetly have trouble with relationships. Once i feel secure the aggresiveness comes out. I can be very bossy and sometimes selfish, wanting what i want when i want it.I also like to have the upper hand in the relationship. The only time i attracted someone who had those qualities was a scorpio sun, all i can say is he pushed all my buttons!

Transiting Mars is conjunct the descendant in my chart. I went to a trade show conference yesterday and rationalized that it was perfectly okay to walk up to strangers and strike up conversations, all in the name of business. I was passing out business cards left and right and learning how to "pursue" in a constructive, non-confrontational way.

It was fun.

anyone have any comment- please- on my post above? how would libra in the 7th in mars behave? (since libra is in detriment here? and the 7th house ALSO depecits libra. So does this imply "double detriment" and a major hurdle?) thanks

Hmm...I know this quick flare-up thing..but don't do that anymore..I've realised how immature this action is.

In fact, these people generally don't live in the past, and are not given to holding grudges or feeling resentful.

Naah..I can live in the past with certain things..and about the grudges..I CAN hold a grudge if revenge is possible...I'm not one of those people that forgive and forget very easily, which is very odd, when I've got Mars in Aries:S

Generally, their temper comes quickly, and they deal with anger on issues right away--with this kind of character, there is little room for festering.

Partly true

When Mars in Aries people listen to their instincts, they generally get things done, and they make fast and (usually) decent decisions. They don't naturally stop to smell the roses--or consider others' point of view--when they are deliberating over what to do next.

Nope, that's not me

Dunno

Mars in Aries natives are often a step ahead of the rest of us. A life that is too predictable makes them antsy. Mars in Aries people enjoy starting fresh--new ideas, pioneering action, and fresh projects make them happiest. They generally enjoy challenges. Relationships with these natives can be exciting, but keeping up with them can be difficult. They are given to impulsive action, and they are not known for sticking things through. Partly true

Mars in Aries natives are easily irritated by indirectness from others. They expect others to say things straight--no beating around the bush.

Yes, I don't like indirectness

They easily become impatient with convoluted plans, or with people they consider to be slow to action.

Hmm...yeah, when somebody is thinking too much and not really showing any sign of action I usually think "Is he even CONSIDERING to take action?!"...but I don't complain, I just start breathing very "heavily" in an annoying way

Most people with this position of Mars have a childlike quality to them. Sometimes they're downright rude and impatient, but with Mars in Aries natives, you generally know what they're after. Unless Mars is afflicted in the chart, you can also pretty much trust that they don't have hidden agendas."

Naah...that's not me

BTW: Mars in Aries ppl LOVE adventure and adrenaline rushes! I know myself that I love to get andrenaline rushes...skiing, doing wild things on my bike etc, give me a great andrenaline rush!

I have to agree with Rev. Alice. My Husband has Mars in his 7th and, it is also, given an 8th house interp. He is, forever, putting the issues that he has, with regard to the 7th and, 8th houses, on me..... and, we work together as well... it is, always, His way or, No way!

I think, maybe, my Mars in Leo is good for him, because I am a pro at head butting and, being stubborn! Drives him CrAZy.... hehehe

Hi AJ,

According to astro.com's 'default' house setting, I have mars in the 7th (virgo), and jupiter, saturn and pluto in the 8th (late libra/scorp). However, with equal houses IHave Mars in the 8th and saturn in the 8th, the others in the 9th. I find mars in the 8th much more fitting with my personality. I read somewhere that Mars in the 7th gives a kind of urgency in relationships, or having a lot of relationships or something. I don't find that to be true of me- I'm 23 and have only had one semi-serious boyfriend. While I'm relationship oriented, I think I have more of a scorpio tint to the way I pursue them. Any sign of falsity in a man- I'm done. And when I'm done- I'm done, and that's it. My cancer moon does make me a bit of a sentimental sap once and a while, but I carry a piercing Scorpio energy in relationships that outweighs it. I also tend to attract water signs, and I often think I will end up with a Scorpio one day. Male scorpio energy fits perfectly with me.

That's good that you've narrowed it down to one Sign! I guess that's half the battle.
