My vote for the victor in this fight would also be Mars in Scorp.
They are a powerful sign in many ways.
And they always use this power wisely and to the best of their advantage.

All of the Scorpion friends I have could knock someone out with just their words.
Their words can be quite cutting if they choose to use them that way.

This is a sign that could shut you right the hell up in a couple of sentences. They see right through people and their motives.

Mars in Cancer strikes me as a crybaby type for some reason.

And yes, also Mars is Scorpio's co-ruler. It is well placed in this sign. It is in detriment in Cancer I believe. Not well placed.

She always wore a hat when outside and dark glasses. She was very particular about her movies, coffee, and men. She only liked latin or dark and handsome men who took her out a lot. She loved cream coloured furniture. She was a very picky person who could get you to do what she wanted with a word. She was always trusting the wrong people with money. Mars in Cancer likes control too, but they chill out more.

Mars in Scorpio has more energy, but that energy is not meant to be negative, it's very positive healing, mothering energy, the kind that creates babies, arranges flowers, paints, gets married, and teaches others. It's only negative when dormant. Mars in Scorpio needs love from the world and reassurance, self esteem comes from getting in touch with the Goddess within, rather than individual people.

Mars in Cancer nutures and protects, writes poetry and dreams. Mars in Cancer is a little more kooky and out there than Mars in Scorpio which needs things to make sense. Mars in Cancer gets love from the world and people on a daily basis, Mars in Cancer can produce plays and dramas, it's similar to Mars in Pisces that way only more introspective. Mars in Cancer is very good with children.

Emotionally they may tire each other out, but both need to be alone to re-charge. I could see both working in a medical setting, competing with each other over the top prize for research, both judging, but respecting the other's work. I can't imagine any other kind of fighting. They may fight if married over who takes care of the kids, the Mars in Cancer will probably want to take over, even if the Mars in Scorpio is the Mom.

The Scorpion would rather be left alone, and doesn't appreciate having to go to such efforts to educate Mars in Cancer. In fact, he's so put out about it all, that he's going to make that crab PAY for everything that's wrong in the world. And while we're at it, the whole universe!!

And the crab will never forget this, and it was all your fault. Nor will the Scorpion, now that he's been made to do our bidding for us. Oh oh...they're consorting amongst themselves now. Cancer Mars is wiping tears away and blowing his nose. They're nodding in agreement with each other. They're walking side by side, and looking rather ticked off. Oh oh.... They're not going to fight each other, their going to attack someone together!! Who?! I hope it's not me, that's all I can say.

And that's the story of what happened when Mars in Cancer and Mars in Scorpio tried to have a fight. The formed a team instead.

I have that Mercury Conjunct Mars aspect. Please expand on "hyper-active" - I've never really been that way in the Mercurial sense, although I do that thing sometimes when you talk fast, jumping from one supposition to another, in a fleeting way. (??)

Those pulls to the dark side are normal to me. I'm a monster magnet. But have been pretty good at repelling the really bad ones for some years now. Still, I'm always repelling!! I once told Mr. Taurus a long time ago that I was a psychic warrior, and he took it as some kind of challenge. He lost. Ya gotta make use of that patient Jupiter & Saturn in Capricorn when you can.

But I must say, my problem wasn't talking too much, being more quiet and shy. It was more like daydreaming and completely tuning out. The stuff I read about my Neptune aspects points to that exactly, and you guessed it. I have Mars Conj Neptune, and Neptune Sextile Pluto. (also have Venus Sextile Neptune)...

So I've always been kind of dreamy when left to my own devices. So I've always been bored easily, but I'll drift off into my own world. They used to called me "skinny bones" when I was younger (very traumatic for a young girl), and though I've filled in just a little, I'll never be obese.

It's true I get impatient sometimes about certain things, but that's also due to my Mars Sextile Uranus, which also helps explain those flashes of insights, and why I'm impatient with the actual steps, and why I sometimes get impatient with people.

Sometimes when I get to talking about a subject, I'll talk super fast, and only a few can keep up with me jumping from this to that. It's like a nervous energy, whenever I DO talk, that is.
