Hello,

I have a very morbid query, but its fundamental. I have reason to believe that a man I am quite close to may have been sexually abused by his mother when he was younger. I dont know to what extent and Im not a 110% sure. Can you tell me is there anything in particular to look for in a chart that may signify a man that has problems with women or anything that may determine sexual abuse and worst of all from the mother.

Apologies for the depressing topic, but its important.

Snappy -

It's not a problem for me when you bring that up. I've read about dysfunctions like that, and I have to look back at some aspects I have on file which points to this. For the most part, I find Capricorn, Pisces, Cancer, Virgo and/or Scorpio influences tend to be involved when looking at Signs alone.

Will write more.

I don't have the definite answer and doubt there is one, but I'd start looking at his Moon.

Moon is usually considered representing mother. Usually stressful aspects to Uranus, Pluto & Chiron could give some hints of not so good mother-child relationship.

Best wishes & strength to you.

I would look at the sun and moon aspects, with the opposites there is friction between the parents, such as Aqua Sun and Leo Moon.

That's just parental friction,
The squares and semi-squares are telling.

I look at the 10th house too which signifies parents or important figures in your life. Uranus conjunct Pluto in the 10th could signify a changeable and hysterical woman figure who dominated the scene. It doesn't specify abuse.

Pluto aspects, usually say strong willed, but it's impossible to say if the parents reacted badly. Scorpio ascendants seem to have terrible childhoods in my experience.

To do a search try looking for childhoods and astrology rather than abuse. Astrologers will not talk about abuse specifically but they will detail childhood traumas under psychological astrology.

Yes there are they're venus aspects, but I'm drawing a blank, I'll have to get back to you on that.
Capricorn Asc. shows a difficult start, one where you wern't allowed to be a kid. Physical abuse, heavy responsibilities. These people are born old souls.

Badly aspected Sun-Mars between charts sometimes is a red flag of potential physical abuse in any relationship, in particular when the potential abuser's Mars is squared the abused's Sun. The Mars is prone to see the Sun person a threat to ego and persoanl pursuits/gratification of aggresive desires, sexual or otherwise. In a parent-child situation, the type of physical abuse brought on by this aspect is often int he vien of a mother's frustration of being "burdened" by child-rearing or, if she has an extremely weak self image and strong ego drives, out of jealousy of the child, their youth, beauty or talents. This aspect is known to occur in sexually abusive relationships too.

This isn't always a given, but seems to be a potential that is brought out in combination to difficult house positions and other difficult. It's hard ot summarize these kind of things, but you get a feel for them after seeing them. I have been fairly consistant in being able to identify potential abuse in synastry with what experience I've had, but I've seen no major, single aspect of position that definitely points to it.

In regards to child abuse, given that many parents who abuse their children usually do so serially (that is, to all their children, or to all children of the same gender, and not just one), it's best to look for difficult aspects within the abuser's chart that might obstruct heathly expression of sexual drive, ego desires, anger, and feelings of powerlessness, like badly aspected Saturn-Mars or Mars in a difficult position or house.

I've never heard of Uranus playing a role in violent and abusive conduct, but Neptune can. Neptune can be benevolent or malefic, depending on the context and how it is aspected/positioned, and a malefic Neptune can enable a person to rationalize immoral, exploitive, criminal and abusive behavior. Pluto too is known to be a "power driven" planet, and when badly aspected/positioned, the individual may abuse the power Pluto grants.

As for signs, I see little that stands out. When I've reviewed the charts of sexual abusers, murders and seial killers in the past, I haven't seen any strong trends in signs. Some are more obvious - Scorpio, Aries, Capricorn - but all the same John Wayne Gacy was a Pisces, Jeffrey Dahmer a Gemini, and Ted Bundy a Sagittarius (actually I've known several Sags that were very sexually abusive - so much for that famous Sag convivality). All signs have a dark/malefic side, which can be brought out by aspects within their charts and how those aspects cope with their own life experiences.

Snappy -

If this man needs to heal more and nothing in life satisfies him completely, consider he may be a really good spiritual minister.

As for anything that pops out at me regarding abuse my mother, one could say his Mutable Sun, Moon, Saturn & Neptune wants to expand his horizons, yet feels the restriction of a Jupiter in Capricorn. A Merc in Aries may have had him speaking harshly towards the mother as well, even though feeling highly regretful & guilty afterwards. His Merc & Pluto Squared Jupiter, and a Merc Sextile Saturn may aggravate this even more.

Then I see:::

Sun Square Moon
Moon Sextile Uranus
Mercury Opp Pluto
Mars Square Asc
Saturn Opp Neptune
Saturn Trine Pluto
Uranus Sextile Asc
Neptune Sextile Pluto

which may indicate really bad verbal abuse, harsh arguments which may lead to violence. A volatile potential.

His 4th, 8th & 12th Houses are ruled by Water signs.

Ask him if he and his mother had really bad arguments where things become out of control and escalated to violence.

Also, knowing the Houses those planets are in would help to see more, if you have it offhand.

Aen, St.H, LLL, GN thanks again for your insight, its good to get different perpectives.
AJ thanks so much for looking through his chart, you are very right in your interpretation as he can be quite vicious verbally and very aggressive when he looses it. Its an uncharicteristic attribute of him to be like that only when he really looses it theres no stopping him. No getting through, just alot of anger and frustration that I dont think he yet knows how to deal with, so its very deeply repressed.
I do know that there was alot of verbal clashes with him and the mother, that is true.
Your question about what houses the planets are in, could you tell me which?? Im a bit stupid sometimes...heheeehehehehehee.

Well, he's got at least one thing good going for him. He has no planets in the 12th to make things even worse.

Overview of this is with his Moon & Jupiter in the 5th, he has a HUGE HUGE need to feel free, especially to expand his educational and cultural horizon - HUGE even moreso because Pisces w/Sag Moon is a wanderer of the world. Not into having children, or being really serious. A bit of a clown.

His 9th placements again, makes him want to expand, lots of verbal honesty from this man, especially with his Sag Moon. Desires lots of passion in relationships.

He has passions, but feels unable to enjoy them.

His 10th is the serious, hard-working, resourceful House, and he has Mars & Saturn there which means if he has the discipline, he can focus his energy well on career matters. The Saturn there makes for more potential for depression and repression, even using his work to HIDE.

And very important, I was really curious about what would be in his 4th, which rules family and home. The most mysterious planet of them all is there, Neptune, which rules his Sun. This means he may never find closure. He really needs to use his IMMENSELY creative mind to reframe and heal from his 4th House issues.

BY THE WAY::::

He needs to befriend as many Aquarius' as possible. They will be very helpful to him.

OH! Almost forgot. It is possible he also has what's called a Mystic Rectangle, if the degrees are exact, between his Saturn, Mercury, Pluto & Neptune. If so it makes the whole picture even more intense because it's consistent with the rest of my findings. Here's info on that:::

"...Mystic Rectangle :
A pattern of 4 or more planets in the shape of a rectangle where planets are connected by sextiles, trines and opposition aspects. Considered helpful, although the oppositions add some "grit" to toughen up the experience..."

AND

"A Mystic Rectangle is formed when two pairs of oppositions are sextile each other. The result is an aspect pattern that includes two sextiles, two trines and two oppositions. A Mystic Rectangle will always be in the same polarity, either masculine (Air and Fire) or feminine (Earth and Water). This is another "soft" aspect pattern in that it does not generate friction, discomfort or a need to take action. What a Mystic Rectangle does offer, however, is an extremely strong sense of balance and structure, of harmony between the four planets involved. Finding this balance is not a given it will still take conscious effort and awareness. However, working with the Trines and the Sextiles will help to make more sense of and find the point of integration for the two oppositions.

Working with a Mystic Rectangle takes some practice because in order for it to hold up, all four planets must be working together and supporting each other. It is common for individuals with Mystic Rectangles to struggle with the two Oppositions, see-sawing back and forth between the opposing planets. Once the point of balance has been found, however, it becomes increasingly easy to maintain, and a well integrated Mystic Rectangle can be the most unflappable of aspect patterns. Once an individual has integrated a Mystic Rectangle, it represents a core of strength for them, and a solid foundation that can be a great gift in handling whatever else life throws at them."

AND

"This consists of four planets connected in a rectangle of two squares and two trines, together with two oppositions connecting the opposite planets. Despite the name there is nothing mystical about this pattern. The combination of tense and harmonious aspects produces the best possible potential for the constructive use of natural talents."

I have one of these rectangles, but it's made up of some aspect I've never seen before. Looks like a check mark, with the point going to the left. What is this?

Also- I have found that retrograds are a major sign of abuse. Partuiclarly Saturn and Pluto.

Those two signs in retrograde often show up in the charts of serial killers, and are the indicator of a tourtured child.

OH! Who couldn't understand that, such suppression of the two most (potentially) suppressed planets!!

Thankful I have no Retro's! My challenge is grueling enough, and I'm not an alchoholic yet!!

Sorry if I seemed flippant.

I was sexually abused by my father and emotionally abused by my mother's boyfriend when I was a kid. So I find it interesting to see something in my chart that indicates that.

I was never sexually abused, but emotionally by my grandmother, and one of my mother's boyfriends ~ another one almost killed me via strangulation when I was five (when I woke up screaming, terrified, in the middle of the night ~ better to strangle a kid than to wake up a neighbour.. that was one violent Sadge). I have mars in pisces in the fourth house, squaring moon/venus and nodes, and retro pluto ruling my Scorp ascendant. I remember a mostly great childhood with some nasty moments to it. The older I get, the less able I seem to be at handling conflict ~ I get sick to my stomach and need to cut myself off from whoever is being aggressive, and do the same when I'm feeling combative, because I always end up feeling the same way.

I know what you mean. I used to get really flustered when people got me angry, and it would affect my health for days, sometimes weeks, months, years. It's not like I can't be friendly and speak to total strangers, and laugh. It's like you said, when someone is rude.

AJ,

Your fab, thanks again for your invalubale time and help!!!! If I could return the favour I'd love to, but I think that will be a very long time away before my astro knowlegde is up to speed.
Do you do chart interpretations??? If not you should be. If you dont can you put in the the direction of someone really good.....

St Henri, I just wanted to add your correct in what you say regards Scorpio Asc childhoods, I would consider my childhood emotionally very difficult and had alot of ironing out to do within myself even up to now. But feel relatively sorted now, with a litte bit more to go.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Never ever worry about what you can do in return, as long as you are yourself, that's the best. Share you experiences if you feel the need to.

I've learned a lot from this forum, and you will too. I've been through difficult times, and reach out when I can. Most people going through a difficult life think they are the only one.

Do you think the MC has a lot to do with childhood? For instance, I noticed that those with Aries MC come from violent homes, and that those with Aquarius MC have had unconventional upbringings.

fleur-de-lis, yes I believe the MC when in the 10th house has a lot to do with upbringing. It's my theory that the planets that rule the 10th signify parent figures. Uranus conjunct MC says to me unconventional, it's true in my case and at least two others that I know. It says don't fence me in.

Mars on the MC, or Aries, at the very least talks about power struggles. Sag means power struggles at home, especially with Mom. Libra says to me passive, cold and unemotional.

What's your experience Fleur?

Not to take away from Fleur - but I have an Aquarius MC, as well as a South Node in Aquarius in the 10th.

The only aspect to my Libra Sun is Trine MC. Also, have Neptune Square MC.

Home life extremely unusual, but then, I don't know anyone who's home life was not unusual.

So- can anyone tell me what this aspect is, that looks like a check mark pointing to the left?

It's not a square, trine, lessersquare, opposition, sextile or conjunct- So I don't know what the hell it's supposed to be.

And what is this MC evryones talking about?
