Just an interesting question for everybody. One of my teachers at school who is an avid fan of astrology told me that she had "planned" her 3 pregnancies. She wanted to be able to, so to say, "preselect" the signs of her kids, which are now; Piceas, Taurus and Leo. Interestingly, she is an Aries who has a close relationship with all three of her daughters now. Does any one in here believes in planned pregancy? Meaning, trying to have your baby born under a particular sign? and if so what baby do you think would be the most easiest to deal with? Personally from what I read , an Aries, Gemini, virgo or Sag child would be good!how about you guys?
Me personally, an Aries, Gemini, virgo or Sag child would be neat.

Linda Goodman wouldn't like this......heh
Well it's really a matter of how you think Astrology works...it's a pretty complex subject. Touches on a lot of issues...I'm interested to see what other people will say....

Yeah, I've pondered that. I cannot imagine myself raising a child of certain signs, but I can't really decide on what sign I would prefer. The Gem mom/Gem daghter thing did NOT work work with my mom, and seeing how insufferable, dramatic and demanding my Leo brother was a child, I whould have to nix both Gem and Leo from the choices. I don't I'd want either Taurus or Cap, but possibly a Virgo. Cacner, Scorpio, and Aires are all iffy. I think a Libra, Pisces, Aqua and possibly a Sag child would be most likely be best for me.

I don't see anything wrong with planning yoru pregnancy to have chikldren born under a certain sign, but I think i'd look at the outer planets and Mars placements too when doing my planning. Of course, you can't predict moon signs, or thingd like premature births, so you have be open to a lot variables. You could get a child with a Sun sign you wanted the most, but with a ASC or moon sign you least wanted, so hey. LOL.

i dont think u can perfectly plan a pregnancy...even under all the right circumstances...u dont always fall pregnant when u want to....though i just have to look at a man to fall pregnant
it was always top of my list when i was pregnant..thinking bout the sun sign of my child to be...i have a great book "your childrens sun signs"...it gives great insight....
i have cappy son...fantastic baby...even born on his due date....likes things in order always...always wants to know'"the rules"
aries daughter....horrible baby...cryed and cryed always...needed constant attention..though she grew out of it..and she is a great child...know whats she wants...and works for it
next three are aquarius...they are all soooo different...thier moon signs explain them better..
first is virgo moon..great baby..quiet child...and can point out anything that isnt "right"...very mechanically inclined mind..
next aries moon...fantastic baby..very smart...practically looks after himself...right from birth..lol he has such confidence in himself...and everyone loves him...
next has moon in libra and really kicks up at any decisions he think is unfair..lol
last my little scorpio angel...he has scorp influence from..sun,moon,mercury and venus...nearly two..he is never shy...and quite forceful for what he wants..and he is soooo gorgeous..
i know ive slipped off subject...sometimes that happens when u talk about ur kids...
if i had a choice of what signs my kids could have been....i wouldnt have chosen the signs they are..so im grateful it doesnt happen to a plan we choose conciously...they are all great amazing and teachers for me...as well as i hope i am for them..all with fantastic individual personalities....no matter what signs they are..

I've been wondering about this. Linda was all about astrology to help with pregnancy issues. Remember astrobiology? She said it would help those who wanted to avoid getting pregnant by telling them what times to avoid and it would also help those who wanted to get pregnant because it would tell them what times would be most ... fruitful. Obviously, it would be the same time in both situations, just one type avoiding it and the other making the best of it.
So, if you could know precisely what time each month you were able to get pregnant with astrobiology, then theoretically you could choose which month to make use of that time. More often than not, I would think that it would work. Of course, there would be the early and late babies due to their own Freewill, too. Anyway, I don't think it would hurt to try and choose a sign you're compatible with if you feel like it. Really, just because you make conscious decisions doesn't mean you're going to go against your "destiny" or you "fate" or whatever. Astrology and other star codes are abour regaining control of your life. And, maybe, you were destined to do just that.

This thread caught my attention.

My parents planned my birth completely, not for astrological reasons but they reckoned that having a child born late June early July would ensure better chances of survival for me (strange I know but I guess that's what happens when two science graduates plan a child!). However my family is a legacy of Cancers and Tauruses and I can't help but wonder whether these two Cancerians were unconsciously looking for a third...

Maybe it's a testament to the strong will of a Leo that I stood my ground and my parents welcomed a very UN-Cancerian Leo Sun Aries Moon two weeks after my due date !

My point being that all the scientific planning in the world cannot interfere with free will.

Perhaps one may be better off examining the astrological heritage, a lot of points have been made on recurrent astrological patterns in a family's ancestry. I have not looked into this in any depth. However I notice that my living family are all Taurus and Cancer Suns, (my younger sister was born a double Taurus with Scorpio rising - emphasising the gap between "me" and "them"! no doubt my Aquarius rising has wanted to be different FROM THE BEGINNING ). Two exceptions to this Taurus/Cancer compulsion have been thrown up : myself and my aunt. Both Leos with very little earth or water in their charts.

Concerning the Aries teacher who preselected the signs of her children and is very happy with them : one must remember that someone with a knowledge of astrology has quite simply a MUCH better idea of what to expect from different people, of their particular vibes...

That, I think, is one of the best things that astrology has to offer us : Understanding, therefore tolerance.

I'd also point out that it is much easier to accept difficulty in a situation which you have yourself chosen. I can very well imagine an Aries being pleased with her "decision" for the signs of her children !

But I don't feel that it was so much a "choice" on her part. I think she just was, for the two reasons I cited above, in agreement with the events that occurred.

pf3000 - I'd tell someone to go for it if they really wanted to try, but then to not be surprised if the baby comes a couple of weeks early or late just to be contrarian

As for me (a Pisces/Aqua Moon/Scorp Asc w/ a Taurean Venus and Leo Mars married to a Aqua/Taurus Moon/Scorp Asc w/ an Aqua Venus and Pisces Mars), I worried and fretted over the signs and placements of our (unplanned) child.
We're currently in the military, and I thought, "Well, an Aries Sun might be good for that - maybe she'll be born a few days early. But a Taurus may have the steadfastness to put up with all of the inherent commotion. If she comes on her due date, she'll have a moody-broody Cancer Moon, though. Oh, and look at those other placements - I'm not sure I could deal with a Gemini Mars and Venus..."

What did the kiddo end-up with for placements?

She came three days early and has Taurus Sun with a Gemini Moon, Venus, and Mars (that bit being in her 11th House) - a nod, I'd imagine, to my husband's 3rd House Sun and Venus and my 3rd House Sun and Aqua placements - and a proud Leo Asc (a part of the chart that really can't reliably be planned for but is so heavy a determining factor in the personality).
