Yes there is something so sexy about Eddie Vedder.I just love his voice,it's just so rich,deep and earthy,just like the man himself.Lots of earthy passion there,with lots of hits to Uranus for unpredictability.Venus in Sag puts a freewheeling spin on things---Lilith with Mercury for intense deep thoughts and speech,and close to the Sun for more of that overall intensity.Moon/Saturn can be quite the serious one----IP: Logged |

I have been wondering about Eddie Vedder's ascendant recently. I've just started listening to his solo stuff because I was listening to a lot of Chris Cornell's music via youtube and Eddie Vedder came up in the things they recommended for me, and I'm reviving my teenage crush! (His mars exactly conjunct my ascendant, his moon conjunct my mars, venus trine venus!)
Frustratingly I haven't found anyone on the internet who seems to know for sure.
I can see that it might be leo, like someone else said - the hair! Also he's a showman, he smiles quite a lot, and his performances are something to be proud of, even 25 years later the old songs sound just as good when they peform them live.
I'm also wondering if it may be a water sign - cancer or pisces, not scorpio because I don't see that intense stare that scorpio asc/pluto 1st have (I have pluto 1st so not getting at anyone here). He's famous for being into surfing, and he has a lot of compassion and emotion when he sings, in his lyrics and when he talks about the causes he believes in, but he doesn't have any personal planets in water, just saturn in pisces and neptune in scorpio, although as saturn is the ruling planet of his sun that might explain it.
Interestingly both the women he has been married to have sun conjunct moon, one a pisces the other scorpio, so the important men in their lives would have a strong cancer/moon emphasis. Possibly also he could be attracted to cancerian type partners. Chris Cornell and Stone Gossard both have their birthdays on July 20th, which is an inconjunct to Eddie's sun, so normally I wouldn't have expected them to connect so closely, without other influences.
Then again Jeff Ament's birthday is March 10th and Beth Liebling's March 12th, so maybe his partners are neptune/pisces types.
So my best guesses are that either a) he is a late cancer ascendant with a lot of his first house in leo, b) he is a late leo ascendant with moon and the rest of his virgo stellium in the 1st house or c) he is a pisces ascendant, with sun in the 10th and moon in the 7th.

Great description and reasoning for guessing Ed's ascendant. I can still see a Leo rising, but perhaps late Cancer.
Never considered a Pisces ascendant for him, but I've always looked up to him and this could make sense since I am a Pisces sun.Though his style (especially when he was younger) is much "louder" so to speak than other Pisces risings who tend to blend and prefer subtlety, not making as direct statements. Could also see a Sagittarius ascendant based on his appearance, his love of the outdoors, sports, active lifestyle, big picture thinker, philosophical, worldly, etc. IP: Logged |

I've just found this old post about Ed and I really enjoyed reading it!
All right, I met Ed twice, many years ago, back in the 90s. I've been talking to him and he looked at me straight in the eyes all the time, he has a very magnetic look, almost hypnotized me, LOL. I mostly agree about the Leo asc option cause he has a graceful bearing, a peaceful but confident attitude, and of course his hair, lol, but especially an overall look and gestures suggesting me the Leo rising type... but his gaze is soo intense and "neptunian" though, to let me slightly doubt about the Leo asc and think also of Pieces or Sagittarius.
