I've been delving deep lately, and been exposed to some revelations about myself that strongly point to a purpose for my life. I unfortunately don't have time to go into the purpose just yet, but I'd like to hear yours if you have one. Also, does it change? IP: Logged |

Oooooh AG, what a brilliant question........I have loads of purpose, more since I have gotten older. so where would I start, okay here goes....................To be a kind, understanding, supportive, funloving wife and mum To express myself every day thro song, music and dance and for others to enjoy my creative expression To help others help themselves, to gain an understanding of the inner self To give love to as many as I can To have fun, fun, fun To reach a level of understanding and acceptance of my parents before they pass over to the other side (I feel this is coming - thanks be to God) To maintain my love and awe of the higher power which I feel in my life everyday To SHINE SHINE SHINE when and wherever I can One of the things that touched me was when I asked my music teacher where he had inherited his musical ability from and he answered "my mother was a singer" - I thought ooohhh I would love my son to see me as that. Well my purpose was fulfilled, as yesterday he grabbed the broom and started to sweep the floor, whilst singing loudly and enthusiastically, saying "who is this" and then 'this is you Mummy". To forgive others more readily To make a difference in the world - to have others says "aahh she was the one that........... But my biggest purpose of all, which has already been fulfilled is: TO LOVE AND BE MYSELF !!!!!!!! How about you AG - would love to hear xxx

I love this thread!!!I was born with an exceptional amount of compassion for people, animals and nature. So I think one of my biggest purposes is to Love and protect others. To make people feel accepted and unthreatened in a sometimes very judgemental world. This goes along with the last purpose, but I LOVE exploring different cultures, traveling and befriending as many different kinds of people as possible. I don't know why, I've just been that way since I was very young. I think this is a gift I was blessed with, to see the good in everyone. I also know that what the world is doing to women's sexuality and their bodies is wrong. I want to work to bring back the values of the female divine and help people see the REAL beauty of women. To help people see past gender stereotypes To listen to people's stories/ troubles and offer support. I want to be a spiritual psychologist. Well..I think thats enough to keep me busy for now, hehe. I just realize my purposes sound like that of a Pisces... IP: Logged |

Everything changes. Nothing stays the same.Purpose? To serve. Whatever it is, it must help others in some way. That is what life is about. I can only think of Steve Martin's "special purpose" in The Jerk.My purpose... To learn how to develop productive relationships with others by first developing a productive relationship with myself. *Sounds almost like a job objective on a resume! LOL* IP: Logged |

I'm gonna steal this thread and use it elsewhere Anyways... my own purpose I guess is to help other people. I've come to the conclusion that I can't mentally be selfish enough to kind of push myself to maximum success. I'm never going to be the type who'll earn millions of dollars and be something hugely important in the World, because I just don't have the personal drive to do it. I do however, have the drive to help other people. I'm hoping to get into youth work or something along those lines, I think that's pretty much what my purpose is. IP: Logged |

Wow, if only you people knew how unbearably annoying the people, whose purpose in life is to "help other people" or "to love and nuorish" or somesuch other crap are to an independent observer... Ironically, they seem to be the very same people who perpetually can't seem to get their OWN sh!t together.IP: Logged |

Yeah, I can see how to someone who's primary purpose in life is probably to serve themselves and make their own being as comfortable as possible, the notion of trying to help people who can't do that is absurd. I agree with you, why should anyone want to help anyone else? Geez we should all just look after ourselves and pretend no one else exists. That'd make things alot more pleasant wouldn't it. Wake up to yourself. IP: Logged |

I think to everyone who's had tragedies in their life it IS important to HELP people.. I know it is to me very much so.. and I don't mean it in a global "omg help the people" kinda way.. I mean help whoever I can help with whatever I can help them with..I am very ambitious and there are goals I have that i want to achieve but that's not really a PURPOSE.. the purpose beneath the goals would still ultimately be to be in a position where I can help ppl.. have the money necessary to do that (it's amazing how much depends on money.. ppls lives sometimes) And it's a really nice feeling to be able to help .. I also like writting.. and I want to write and put a few of my ideas out there.. that's also with the ultimate purpose of helping..

A Weasle, why would it be annoying to you when another is happy to help his help his fellow man out????That is somehow 'crap' to you? Very interesting. I'm not trying to sound like Mother Theresa. I dont even like her. That is just how I feel. You will never be happy unless your work in some way benefits your fellow man. And no, I dont have my **** together yet, but I'm working on it. Who says you have to be perfect before you feel something as Truth within you and take action towards that? A Perfect Circle, right on brother....(or sister, sorry, I dont know.) aries-chick: quote: I think to everyone who's had tragedies in their life it IS important to HELP people.. I'm a guy. I don't know if my post sounded aggressive or whatever, but it had a raw nerve because it's something I'm passionate about and it's also something I've wanted to do for a long time. I'm only 19, and this is as close to a life long dream as I can get. IP: Logged |

Don't worry, that hit a nerve with me too, A Perfect Cirlce. You had every right to be offended. Hey 26Taurus! Yea we can never have to many old souls around here A Weasel, why in the world would insult what we consider our purpose in life?! You knew you would offend many people by saying that and yet you didn't care. All I'm going to say is that I think that was an insensitive thing to say, but you already know that. *edited* I was feeling guilty for what I said earlier..so this is the edited version. I also saw a couple nice posts from A Weasel, so I'm hoping she was having a really bad day and feeling really bitter when she said that, were you? IP: Logged |

Sue G Then I need to join you in school too (though I am in college) because I've found the same thing. Why would you abuse others if you Love yourself and vice versa? When you are full of Love, you are inclined to spread it if anything. And to me that's having your sh!te together!IP: Logged |
