***Yeah I was wondering the same thing HD, what astro system do you use...never seen the likes before....with the kewl black background and coloured planets.***

.. freeware for apple mac
http://kilian.stern.net/Kairon_e.htm

.. i only just started to mess with the colors .. it's easy to change them .. was looking for a combination that would be easy to read on a computer screen .. without eye strain .. .. i try to do that with most pics i post here that have txt or symbols .. and its a matter of coverting the chart pic to web colors .. sometimes post conversion they look terrible ..
actualy i've had the app for a few years and only this week figured how to not display the minor aspects .. 'cause the grid layout then looks too confusing .. in which case the veiwer may not study it as well as they might .. same with the zodiac circle charts .. i leave those interconnecting aspect lines off.. the full whack of aspects looks like a drunk spiders web ..

anyhow was just about to post re the t-square vs opposition ..

'later

HD, would you mind explaining a little more about the style? I dont have a mac so i cant check out the program. I use mostly astro.com and i have astro-win too (which I use less).

but anyway, the reason i ask is because when i did daydreamers chart on the "Pullen Astrolog" at astro.com i got the T-square using the 12pm birth time and I am curious why you did not. I was thinking maybe it had to do with the fact that I use the default placidus settings and that maybe you use something different. basically i want to pick your brain about the style that you use because i dont know much about the differences and i want to.

.. you be asking which house system ?? .. be Placidius .. why i got different Asc deg? .. i don't have a clue .. yet ..
i did post a short note about house systems in another thread .. wil hunt it down 'n paste it here .. Placidius be mainly used for usa .. but there are arguments amongst astrologers as to the value of each system .. in the end it be down to the astrolger .. .. .. so i guess the houses are just that .. a guess .. but that normaly doesn't change the Asc degrees .. .. but there is one system that does change the Asc by about 10 degree ( can't remember off hand which one it was ) ....
i normaly stick to PLacidius .. on the other hand i don't do astrology readings .. and as far as i know astrodotcom needs a birthtime .. so if non is known .. what does an unsuspecting knowflake enter ... ... for DD's chart i used placidius ..

re: the Asc. discrepancy .. i got the long/lat of a map site .. which may or may not be 100% correct ..
small differences between computer programmes seems to be the norm ( although not normaly as big as this )

.. so for now just assume for a minute that your exact time of birth is unknown .. and lets say that 12 noon is the nearest you can get ( .. don't worry .. many ppl don't know their b/t ) .. if u didn't have a clue then the moon degrees / house /asc / mc would be virtualy impossible to calculate ...

anyhow at noon ( and in this case yer asc. as shown on pic .. for clarity ) .. the Moon is within an opposition orb with Saturn but not 'exact' .... anyhow the point is that there are overlaps .. and those overlaps have their own midpoints ..

one way to suss the effects of that opp or possible t square .. is to watch the movement of the transiting planets as they move upto / thru and past those overlap points .. easy one to feel are the fast moving ones .. it may take a couple of years observing the transits and noting your moods at the time .. but you might that way get an indicator thru the way you feel at a particular time as to your Asc and MC placements

... it was years before i found out where chiron was in my chart .. but i did not make a huge difference to me that it be part of a grand cross .. albeit wide .. .. but has those overlaps which makes some transits seem to last tooooo long

.. and u will notice that a conjunction transit to your Saturn will be followed by an opposition transit to your Moon .. now if a planet were to transit that by direct motion then go retrograde .. well there would be multiple 'hits' to the planets involved .. if u see what i mean ..
**chart pic changed from previous .. green lines indicate 'orb' .. as in 4 degree either side of exact **

Freeware only for apple eh?...will have to find an apple then. I've never used a program that gave me 19deg Gem Asc for 12 noon. Yeah I think the lattitude and longitude is off for Thompson MB...maybe the program is reading it for another location with a similar name? Where was the program created?

I'm also not sure what house system to use...it seems like it's mainly between Placidus and Koch...i myself am still trying to feel out which of the two houses makes more sense for my chart...but for now I'm using Placidus too.

Hmmm thank you muchly for the insight on the overlaps...I should start paying attention to my transits...good idea, I may figure out my Asc and MC that way And Ahhh to retrogrades! What is the significance of having natal retrograde planets? I can see how a transiting planet can move backwards, but how does that affect natal retrogrades?

right now I have tUranus near my Moon, so opposite Saturn...and square my Asc right now if I have it at 9 gemini...ok so I wouldn't feel this as much as I would a faster moving planet. Well the moon is transiting over my asc now too...will try to note how I feel...right now I'm feeling good and cheery

Thanks HD

**..maybe the program is reading it for another location with a similar name? Where was the program created?**

no .. it only takes long/lat .. no names .. Kairon be created in germany as far as i know by a univ. student ... it does have an option to place the planets and what-not at any position desired .. hey you want an 8:42 deg. XYZ ascendant? .. no problem ma'am just step right this way .. there is no astro subject info within it ..

these be the long/lat i typed in .. got them off a map website
97:54:59W
55:45:28N

.. at first i couldn't find the place at all and placed u bang smack in the middle of manitoba .. i suppose in the end i could have gone to astrodotkomm .. maybe i should .. just to check their long/lat for thompson ..

.. ok .. going by time zones gives the same asc deg as astro.com .. there are a few ways to do the time .. but if i use LMT (local mean time ) then the time difference to GMT is calculated using the long/lat deg. .. turns out that thompson and winnipeg are 3 minutes apart. using the regular timezones puts thompson at 6hrs difference ( the other method puts thompson at 6:31 hrs diff ) ...

in any case the exact asc deg will be somewhat of a guess .. looking at the asc now at 9:12 gem .. a transiting planet conjoining your asc .. would conj asc/ then square saturn /then square the moon .. one after the other ..

thinking of what u wrote about being dreamy .. when i did your chart and displayed all the aspects and harmonics .. there were a plethora of lines to Neptune .. i shall post it here at somestage .. i normaly leave those lines off but now and again they make some interesting patterns

For Thompson Manitoba, the lattitude and longitude looks correct.

Hmmm if not at 9deg XYZ asc, then any spot that makes my chart look lovely, so I dont have that nasty t-square

Thanks for figuring all that asc stuff out. A plethora of lines to Neptune??? This should be interesting...I hope they're nice aspects There was actually a few minutes when I felt like I was on earth today...was it the moon? Well I know Saturn's conjunct my IC now, and will be opposite my 10th house planets...so maybe I may wake up soon?

DD here is one with ALL aspect lines .. ie major/minor/harmonics .. the whole kaboodle .. and have replaced previous chart pic with Asc according to astrdotkom .. although im comming to the conclusion that calculating the time via the normal time zones is misleading and that the long/lat be the proper 'time' difference .. so regarding transits to your Asc /Mc .. .. well think it thru .. the transit chart (next post) shows Saturn on your IC and Chiron near your MC .. but those will change quite a bit within minutes ( i.e. asc/mc degrees ) .. so those transits be a big 'maybe' ..

That is a plethora of aspects to Neptune! You're right...i shouldn't yet jump to conclusions. I need to still feel out my Asc/MC...think I should write in a journal.

Thank HD...I hope you like rings, cuz I found a few from urania...
