The Ascendant is "I", therefore the Descendant is "We", or "They". It is said that it represents the types of partnerships we draw to ourselves, and the type of partner that would fulfil us. Also, it may be an indicator of how you act in an intimate relationship.

Aquarius Descendant

If Aquarius lies on your Descendant, you aim to meet a romantic partner who will expose you to life's rich variety, a true individualist and independent. Since you have Leo Rising -- a Sign associated with imperiousness, drama and positivity -- you seem like someone who requires much adoration and attention. You give the impression that you want a mate who will coddle you and cajole your powerful ego. To the contrary, though, you're actually looking for a relationship partner who will step back when necessary, giving you a break from all the attention you're always receiving. When you fall in love, you do so with an open heart, showering your new mate with lots of gifts and affection; once you've got their attention, though, you reveal your true desires. A mate who is eccentric, active, intelligent and inspiring will make you the happiest.

and there was a thread back where I stated my theory about DCs and "first times", and it seemed to sort of work, you can check it out here: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/006289.html

Did you know that there's a point on your astrological chart that can explain why you're attracted to certain types of relationship partners? By finding out your Descendant -- or the Sign that lays on the cusp of the Seventh House on your birth chart -- you can reveal the motivations behind your attitudes toward marriage and partnership and better understand your instinctual attractions toward a particular kind of love mate. Since the Descendant lies directly opposite your Rising Sign Aka The Ascendant -- the Sign that indicates the way the world perceives you -- it, in a way, represents the sort of person you feel will complete you, fill in the gaps in your life and help you to realize your full potential. It can also be thought of as sort of your alter ego, as the you that you show only to your most intimate partner.
Enter your birth information in the form below for insight into why you want who you want! NOTE: An exact birth time is required for this reading!

Although for some people the DC can be dead-on, like the actual sign will be the sign that you most often draw to yourself- for most people it seems to have more to do with the qualities that are traditionally attributed to that sign. If you read the Aquarius DC interp. that I posted for luna, it never says "you will date lots of Aquarius people", but rather you will be drawn to people with Aquarian traits and also you yourself may act in stereotypically Aqua ways when in an intimate partnership. I feel it sort of gives you an idea of the "flavour" of your romantic entanglements.
I have Aries on the DC and though I have dated many April-born boys, I feel that it's more about the fact that I am drawn to men who are creative, energetic, somewhat dominant (or try to be dominant )- men who like to "chase" and who are big flirts and a little cocky, all those good Aries traits. This type of person makes me feel cozy and inspired and excited all at once. Like my other half.
Sorry for the DC rant..lol.. I am just very interested in this "angle", and have been investigating it for some time now.

This is what it the link above said about my descendent:

"Aquarius Descendant

Since you have Leo Rising -- a Sign associated with imperiousness, drama and positivity -- you seem like someone who requires much adoration and attention. A mate who is eccentric, active, intelligent and inspiring will make you the happiest."

This is so on the button I can't believe it. Especially the last line. I end up with guys I think are fabulous and the rest of my world (friends, family) go along, but kind of look at me like "Really?". I also have to mention that a lot of the guys I thought were wonderful for these very reasons turned out to be not my cup of tea for the very same reasons. Or reason - eccentricity, which I find fascinating ... for awhile.

my *favorite* aunt EVER is an aquarius. my dad's sister (he's a taurus). she used to watch me when i was little, i act more like her than an either one of my parents. she was very foulmouthed, very loud, very showy, always wanted the best, she's traveled the world because "she don't need no man to show her what shes missing, she'll find it her self". (my dad had to tell her to watch her mouth around us when we were little because she used to talk so disgustingly and detailed sometimes it made him leave the room) she wears these beautiful intricate wigs (even tho her own hair is *amazingly* gorgeous), her fashion sense and where she gets her *imported* clothes never ceases to amaze me....and out of all her little nieces/nephews she used to baby sit..i'm her favorite...

needless to say, I grew up...just like her

this is so off track, but i wonder what her data is. i have no idea what her birth time is tho

this was so irrelevant but. i wanted all the aquas to know, I LOVE YOU :-D

Aquarius DC *weeps* I attract these type of friends but I've never particularly liked them? I admire the warmth and success of 'normal' people. I've always wanted to be with the healthy and successful corn-fed kids straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting.
