In a question I asked about Pluto on the IC Tim said:

Lily,
The IC represents your "inner world": the very secret, special inner feelings that you have and only share with those VERY close to you!

Inwardly,

Tim

Now if someone's MOON is exactly conjunct their IC in the 4th House does that mean that they are secretive about their deepest feelings regarding their home matters? The sign is Libra.

Lily,

Libra modifying Moon focused in the 4th house conjunct their IC

is

Libra (relationships) modifying Moon (home, also emotions) focused in the 4th house (home, also emotions) conjunct their IC (inner world)

Yes, this could definitely indicate someone being deepest feelings regarding their home matters. They would have some sort of emotional "relationship" with their home and may tend to be very personal and deep about their feelings. They might have a strong feeling of emotional connection to other people in relationships or to others in their home issues. The possibilities are many, but emotions would play a LARGE part in their behavior.

Agreeing,

Tim

You know how you can study Astrology and see how it works in essence, but when it comes to your own chart, it is foggy?
My IC is full of erratic energy.
I have a fourth house Sun ( In Scorpio, so water sign in a water house) But conjuncting my Sun, in a pattern that starts in my third house of Libra, with a Mercury at 28 degrees, my Sun at 4 degrees Scorpio, My Node at 3 Scorpio, Uranus at 7 degrees, and Mars at 13 degrees.
My IC has always baffled me.. the inward feeling of the energy.. but seduced and influenced by freedom and energy and karmic lessons and at the very core, communication ( As Libra makes aspects that set off the chain of the stellium.)
I have never felt settled.. with marriage, with home although I love making changes.. I redecorate often.
My particular blend makes it hard to keep myself happy.
Should I travel? ( I also have Venus and Neptune in Sagittarius in the fifth house) No planets in my ninth however.

Okay, to take it to synastry.. If someone has their vertex conjunct my Sun in the Fourth...( and modified by the planets in my stellium) what does that mean?

Moon

The Moon in the 4th House indicates that past life experiences, centred upon the home and the mother have provided an opportunity to begin the process of opening up emotionally by creating awareness of a need for love, nurturing and maternal guidance. A person with the Moon in the 4th House is usually born into a close-knit family and, regardless of sex, has an especially close relationship with the mother. The relationship with the mother has enormous significance for the child’s emotional development: accustomed to her unconditional love, he tends to grow up very much an emotional consumer. Demanding and self-absorbed, he usually has much to learn about the giving of love and may be reluctant to take the responsibilities of being either a partner or a parent. For as long as the mother is alive, she remains the principal claimant of his affections and he may be aware of a strong psychic bond between them. If outer planets are present in H4 with the Moon then the mother is likely to be instrumental in creating the conditions, frequently traumatic, which are required to move a person on from the security of home-centred life, which the past life experience has made familiar to the soul and which has now served its purpose.

Whatever area of life, the Sun, by its sign and house position, is identified as being the one into which a person must move in order to continue his development. When the Moon is in H4 he will first ensure that he has a secure home base from which to project. He tends to leave the family home only when he is able to afford to set up a home of his own. As a person with the Moon in H4 identifies property with security and he is usually an enthusiastic homeowner.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: - The matter of whether and when the 4th House denotes the mother or the father (and conversely, whether the 10th House denotes the father or the mother) has long been an area of controversy in Western astrology. The view taken throughout this work is that regardless of the sex of the native, the 4th House at all times denotes the mother and the home, (and the 10th House the father and the career). Whilst it is unquestionably the case that the outer planets use the agency of the father to bring about the necessary developmental conditions, the essential significance of the experience is that the security and nurturance provided by the home (the province of the mother) is withdrawn in order that a person may learn to provide for himself. For people born in 1960s, when Uranus and Pluto were in conjunction, this lesson is likely to be earned through difficult and often traumatic circumstances.

In our contemporary societies the experiences brought into a person’s life by the inner planets working through the 4th House are easier, unquestionably, for a woman to handle. For a man an emphasised 4th House will produce tendencies which are considered unmasculine. Women with an emphasised 10th House face a comparable difficulty although one, which the thinking of the last thirty years has done much to ease. Notions of sexual equality have yet to extend in any meaningful way to men with an emphasised 4th House.

The Moon

By Transit

The Moon’s monthly transit of the Fourth House is usually a time when a person is content to remain at home and concern himself with domestic matters. It tends to be a time for withdraw al and introspection rather than for socialising.

By Progression

The Moon’s movement through all three water houses tends to be a time for reflection and withdrawal.

When the Moon progresses through the Fourth House a person assesses all that he put into motion as the Moon moved through the first three houses and he his lifestyle means to him in emotional terms. He may find that in some respects the price is too high.

Almost certainly he will review his domestic arrangements at this time and consider the benefits of a move. Regardless of any other move he may make during the period of the Moon’s progression through the Fourth House, he will almost invariably move or make a major change in his domestic arrangements as the Moon traverses the last degrees of the Fourth House. This move is likely to be of some permanence because it addresses shortcomings of which he has now become acutely aware of, in his previous domestic arrangements and in the lifestyle they supported.

Vertex conjunct Sunis the strongest compatibility factor!

Vertex conjunct ICis a past life connection indicator

I think both of you will deeply affect each other because such aspects are found in karmic relationship (aren't they all karmic? lol), when people have much to learn together and retify past life mistakes..

quote:
Meetings with significant people, as seen through synastry and composite charts, may also link strongly to the vertex. (Think of people as constant transits.) When one person's inner planets or asteroids (Sun through to Jupiter), angles, nodes, vertex or certain Arabic parts conjunct the vertex, there can be a feeling of fate, destiny, rightness or wrongness about the encounter. Something in the contact with that person may have the ability to create profound change in the native, over a long or short period of time. The change may be perceived as pleasing or acrimonious, the conjunction often reflecting the former, the opposition the later.

Thank You Peri!
It's very true.
Also.. My Ascendant is exactly his IC. By degree.
We have Moon Quintile Moon. Actually a few quintiles.. I'd never really seen them in synastry before..... but I understand it has to do with support and creativity, which is also true.

A few things that stand out to me....
Opposed Suns, though not by degree,
Sextile Ascendants, positive Sun/Moon both ways
His Sun trine my Moon
My Chiron conjunct his Eros
That vertex thing...
Sun conjunct Jupiter
Moon trine Pluto
Venus opposeed Pluto
Venus trine Venus
Venus conjunct Mars
Vertex quintile Moon
Venus quintile Jupiter
Venus trine Chiron
Juno conjunct Moon
Sun square/oppose Saturn ( respectively)
Venus trine saturn

We have a Grand Trine that is completed in synastry, in fire signs.. between both of our Venus's and Saturn.

It feels beautiful, natural and fated. Like we read each others thoughts and know exactly how it feels to be in each others' heads, and man, it's nice. Really nice to be answered and appreciated, and vice versa.

Anyway, I just wanted to say it.
Thanks.

Thanks Tim, That's very helpful. I noticed last nite that Neptune is also in the 4th House though not conjunct and in Scorpio rtaher than Libra....which introduces yet another interesting layer of secrecy/illusion etc in so far as the home life and perhaps even past relationships to the mother (moon there) are concerned. Good stuff, very interesting, very juicy. LOL. Thanks!

My Uranus in Scorpio conjuncts IC. I LOVE redecorating my home, rearranging furniture, and even moving from flat to flat. The bad thing is that Uranus forces me to change places when I least expect it.

I read somewhere that Uranus in the 4th hs may also mean that one may move a lot in early childhood. It's not the case with me though, my changes of homes started only when I grew up. I think it was geared by Pluto transiting my 4th hs, and later by transiting Uranus conjucnting my Moon.

As for Neptune in the 4th hs, again I read that this placement encourages a person to engage into some charity activity (like help to homeless) or otherwise they may well need that charity when they are old. Hope this won't happen to us, alanabelle
