My son has his Sun,Merc,Venus and Jupiter in the 8 house. This scares me to a degree considering all the not so good stuff surrounding the 8th house. Any comments.. IP: Logged |

Hi Mia. My Son has his Sun and Mars in the 8th as well and, he is an Aries. I'm with you, there is a fixation, it would seem, in only the darker issues of the 8th house. Beebuddy said it best; " Worry less"..... we carry enough as it is, for our babies ~ geminstone IP: Logged |

Hi I wouldn't be worried about it. Jupiter's lucky and Venus is nice and lovey dovey. If anything like beebuddy said, one of the things it would predict is an easy peaceful death. But also a stellium in the 8th can mean he'd be very interested in the spiritual world and think about it a lot. Death probably won't be something he looks at with fright which is a good thing. He'd see it from a more spiritual perspective as transcending from one form of being to another..It is possible that at some point someone close to him might die which would kinda push him along this spritual path..and make him feel more of a connection to spirits through the close connection they continue to feel with the person who has passed away. I hope this doesn't sound scary. In the end equation, if this does happen it probably won't be an overall negative experience..more so, like I said, something that opens his eyes to that world. His moon isn't there which is a good thing. With the moon in the 8th early death of mom is predicted (obviously this doesn't always happen). In my case my moon is in the 8th and my grandma who was like a mom for a lot of my life died at a pretty early age. It was tragic at the time, but I feel I've grown a lot from it and like I said in the above paragraph I feel a real connection with her which makes me more attuned and makes me think a lot more about the afterlife and spirits in general. I also have a lot of dreams about dead people ..or anyways they're ghosts in my dreams (lol hope that doesn't sound too spooky). These are never nightmares. Usually they're not good or bad, just very interesting. In his case he has Sun/Merc/Venus/Jup there..If someone close does die which isn't a probability at all (and I really hope this doesn't happen) ..I just think it IS a possibility with this placement.. The person would probably be either a father figure (Sun), a friend (Merc), a love interest (Venus), or a teacher/someone he looks up to (Jupiter) But again..I can't stress this enough..because last thing I wanna do is scare you more.. if this does happen it wont be a bad thing in time, because he'll feel very much so in touch with the person, still. Jupiter in the 8th is said to give long life as well... But the 8th isn't just death and spookiness... it's also sex, deep bonding with others as a spiritual level, and where a lot of psychic gifts are shown. IP: Logged |

Hi Mamamia, I have a pretty heavy 8th house placements with my Sun,Moon,Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune in it so I can speak from my personal experience. I think people with heavy 8th house placements usually have a more challenging life ahead of them compared to the average joe because of the emphasis on the need to 'regenerate' and 'reborn' oneself and to do that one needs to really let go, go with the flow and cease all control whilst confronting our deepest, darkest demons. For a person with a heavy 8th house emphasis, this may seem insurmountable but it's the lesson we must face in this lifetime. Having a loaded 8th house isn't necessarily a bad thing for it allows us to evolve otherwise we'll just stagnate. Hope that helps!IP: Logged |

Hi MamaI have Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune and Venus in 8th in Scorpio.....and you know what a terrible person I am....... !!! So I agree with others.....challenges, but Oh I feel SO deeply about things. Music moves me to places I believe only some could reach by drugs, or orgasm etc. I can completely lose myself in lovemaking and dancing, singing, storytelling...I feel a certain amount of enchantment, a magick in life, a euphoria... Of course there is the other extreme.....sadness, depression (but that has gone since I started to sing and really express all parts of myself)...... I actually enjoy all that 8th house stuff, but then again....why wouldnt I........being Scorpio? xxx IP: Logged |

I think the reason why people are really not so keen on 8th house placements, besides the "negative" it represents sometimes, is the fact that the 8th house seems very ambigous...big concepts like death, spirituality, transfrmation, people sometimes don't know what to make of.I know I don't! I have sun in the 8th (which is supposed to be the equivalent of sun in Scorp.) I am still trying to figure out how the energy of the sun in the 8th manifests itself... But I would not worry about many placements in the 8th, I think it may make you more of a "deep" person, and less interested in the superficialities of life that many get wrapped up in. IP: Logged |

Thanks guys your replys mean alot to me. He is very energetic and has taken a huge interest in the arts, he promises me that he is going to be a actor/model and I believe that he can do it. Yes the 8th house moon is scarey but I realize that he does not have that. I did Aaliyah's Chart and as it turned out she had a 8th house moon. Aaliyah is the your R&B artist that was killed on that plane a few years ago..And she was very young too.. Again thanks.. IP: Logged |

Hi Mama Mia ~beebuddy, sue g, geminstone, geminirising, j_kohler and lauren all had excellent insights. I think your son could grow up to be an extraordinary man! I would imagine that along the line somewhere he will become deeply interested in all things "Scorpionic"! If it were me, I would answer all his questions completely, deeply and thoroughly, to satisfy his need for deeper perceptions. As for the 8th House Moon, mine's there in Pisces. I read years ago this means certain death by drowning (!!!). And my mother is 81..... logically, one could say that 1/12th of the people in the world probably have the Moon in VIII..... One of my fave quotes: Astrology is just a way of recognizing potential. What you DO with that potential is UP to YOU. It really depends on how consciously you are responding to your own issues..... Right the 8th house and the 12th houses are known to be the most sppokiest of all houses. And well I have my moon and Venus in 12th house and I spoke on the 12th house and the very, very positive side of having those placements. It really is how you percieve it, but just like I increased the uneasyness of the 12th house placements, I needed to be realised of the spookiness and the unesayness of the 8th house placements..Pisces/Aqua/Aqua.. I have my Sun and Saturn in the 8th house. It's not necessarily a bad thing to have in a natal chart. The 8th house adds a lot of depth to my otherwise somewhat fickle Sun in Sagittarius. My Sun is also on the Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp, so combined with the 8th house I feel like a Scorpio sometimes. I feel very deeply. Superficialities are not something I feel very comfortable with. It's been my experience that the 8th house Sun has his fair amount of soul searching. People with an 8th house Sun feel so deeply that it is very hard to understand for other people. Also people don't always appreciate the depth of feelings of an 8th house Sun person. IP: Logged |

I see the houses just as I see the signs: nothing is good or bad per se, it is how we use the energy and our own FREE WILL what makes up our lives. The 12 houses have their equivalents in the 12 signs. If you worry about having many planets in the 8th house, it is just the same as worrying about having many planets in the sign of Scorpio. There is nothing that proves that Scorpios have more difficult lives than, say, Libras, and yet no one seems to worry if they have a lot of planets in the 7th house. Or is it more difficult to be a Pisces than a Cancer? Still, people consider 12 house placements tougher than 4 house placements... but NOTHING is bad per se. I know I'm simplifying things, but at least for me it has been a really good lesson to start to see the 12 houses just as potentially neutral as the 12 signs are. The key word here is potential, to both good and bad. Lana IP: Logged |

Moma Mia, I too believe this to be a favorable positition to have multiple planets... From a personal perspective as it's allowed for much enlightenment. Life/Death issues are definatly faced, I've discovered they are conquered with preserverance and faith. Now as a mother of one with this chart, I can definately see where you are coming from with fear... My advice is to do the very best you can to instill a sense of morality, justice, and craving for higher learning in this child immediately and firmly. You will be blessed a hundred fold later on for doing this. Then remember: When they are little they step on your toes... And when then are older they step on your heart... This is just part of the nature of parenting. I believe this child chose you for a reason, don't you? ______________________ SagSun, you took the words right outa' my mouth, LOL! At what degree is your sun may I ask? My own Sag Sun is at 1 degree 15 seconds (right on the cusp)in the 8th house. ______________________ Zala, That was a strange thing I just read that you posted...[I'd never heard that one before] what was strange to me about it is that while I don't have my moon there -but rather my Sun, etc. The person who was the cause of my drowning does! Very interesting.... *Now if you were a scorpio, I may have asked if you'de ever tried to drown someone, LOL! Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit" IP: Logged |

My Sun is at 2 degrees 30 seconds ... I know that most people wouldn't consider this to be a cusp Sun, but it's been my personal experience that people born on cusps bear the traits of both signs, even if their Sun is as far as about 3 degrees in the next sign. IP: Logged |

I'd say if you are feeling it the degree does'nt matter a bit. A cusp is a cusp... is a cusp... Lets see where else we match up as similiar: I'm Nov 23rd 1970' how bout you? Sun, Mercury and Neptune in Sagittarius Moon, Mars and Uranus in Libra Venus and Jupitar in Scorpio Saturn in Taurus Pluto in Virgo Ascendant is in Aries I have innercepted houses at 2 and 7 giving me two houses with Gemini cusps and two with Sagittarius... um... this is all I come up with off the top of my head... Waaaaaaaait, I'm female! Where do we match Sag Sun? Anything exciting? or Anything at all? *We can edit this info out later if desired... ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit" IP: Logged |

Me: 11/25/1983 (I'm female btw ) Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus & Neptune in Sagittarius Moon in Leo Venus & Mars in Libra Saturn & Pluto in Scorpio Ascendant in Pisces I have 2 houses with a Gemini cusp (3rd & 4th) and none with an Aries or Libra cusp. So, we do seem to have some similarities in our charts. IP: Logged |

I have my sun, merc, venus in the 8th..I think it's a very powerful presence in people. We are sexual magnetic, we command respect and we are not afraid of taking risks!!!Although I have read that having Mars in the 8th can lead to accidents or death ... don't worry, my friend who has this placement is a Marine so he would have that risk because of his chosen profession...it's all about how we choose to be influenced by any placement/houses... ------------------ Lola Monroe "...the darkness is coming...do not weep as you have sown what you now shall reap..." SagSun, I have Aries Sun in the 8th house, and is at 2º38' degrees.. XD I also consider cusps and that degrees counts, coz the degrees shows how evolved the traits of a sign is present in a certain planet. For example, having Sagittarius Sun at 29º degrees certainly shows stronger Sagittarius traits than having it at 0º degrees. And a Sagittarius at the early degrees is actually similar to a Scorpio at the late degrees.I also have Moon/Venus/Mercury (AC/MC ruler) at my 8th house.. personally, I think that the 8th house "forces" us to face the deep hidden issues, such as death/rebirth, power, dark feelings (such as fear and shame). It takes us to the deeper issues of psychology and relationship with other people (a deeper, serious way that is different from the 7th house's meaning, as it is a more intimate and deeper level). I think that one of the 8th house lessons is to learn about light under the darkness; to accept yourself and let go of the negative intensity. IP: Logged | |
