Hi all,

According to Astrology-numerology.com if a person has no air sign in the first 7 planets they have air absence. So what if you have air absence but you also have some positive mercury placements and some planets in air houses, would this help you avoid some of the negative traits of 'air absence' as specified on this page? http://www.astrology-numerology.com/elements.html

Oh, and how would someone with a quite a bit of air in their chart (me) fare with such a person (she)

Thanks a lot!

You'd fare great. I have no planets in air, only my Asc - Gem. I do have 4 planets in air sign houses though - 11th and 7th. I think this does help. I can act sociable when I need to be, though it isn't my first choice. Social situations aren't something I actively seek out. I'd probably prefer to go without, a lot of the time. But when they happen I deal with them fine and usually enjoy them. Air sign people can really help a person with no air planets have fun in any social situation. They're like a breath of fresh air, literally.

The astrology-numerology interpretation doesn't really fit me, but the bobmarks interpretation does http://bobmarksastrologer.com/EmptyElement12.1.htm . It also states that when an element is missing in the chart BUT is present in one of the four angles - asc, mc, ic or dc, the person might go the opposite direction and instead of displaying no traits of the element, they'd overcompensate. I find this to be true for me, because if anything I'm TOO centered on all of the things mentioned in the astro-numerology interpretation..I place a lot of value on education and any number of ideas and I'm constantly thinking about something lol I can't stop thinking. I even have sleeping probs due to thinking TOO much. So check if she has air on an angle, it could make all the difference.

I always find that people actively seek out and need the element missing. My bf has only 1 fire in his chart, whereas I have 4 planets in fire. I have no air..and he has 3 planets in air. I love being around air sign people. It makes me very optimistic. I'm usually drawn to them and they to me. I've also noticed a lot of the air sign people I know have a deficit in either fire or earth..which is interesting considering I have an abundance of fire and a stellium in Capricorn (earth)

Do you, by any chance, lack in an element she has?

lauren thats interesting, I've a lack of air in my chart, but I've a libra MC, and I constantly keep on thinking about education/intellectual stuff etc. I think all the time, and am actually a very curious person, even though sometimes I might try to repress those qualities in me. Air signs really intrigue me, and I really admire them, they have something line of thought which I admire, even I enjoy their company. Perhaps, maybe my air elements are not represnted in me that well, thats why I like find them intriguing .

But I've one problem with it, you've got to have an earth/fire/air/water element in atleast the ascendant, nadir, descendant or MC.... I mean its no possible that you've no air element...

Edit: Problem solved, my bad... sorry

Hi Guys,

I actually do not have any air in my chart, not ascendant, dc, or mc. Even the houses that my planets fall under do not have air in them. Maybe I'm reading it wrong...

The interpretation provided by Astrology-Numerology is completely off. I enjoy learning and in fact had gone back to school to take courses on my own after I had graduated. I completely enjoy learning.

The one that fits me the most is this:
"What lack of air really means is a dislike of "small talk". Every word has to be significant."

The thing is, because of my lack of air, I am very fascinated with air people. I love being around them because I don't have to talk. I can just sit back and listen to them and they can keep me in the thinking mode which I completely enjoy.

If anything, I think this is a case of opposites attracting. No air = needs air, if not only through being with someone with lots of air.

The only air I have is Saturn Aquarius 7th house with the only aspect sextile to Jupiter. I have a grand trine to my cancer mercury in the 12th house. I frequently feel misunderstood and have a difficult verbally communicating - it's much easier to write what is in my head. Frequently I even use the wrong words or slur them. It's extremely frustrating because I feel I have a very literary sense - only trouble communicating what I'm thinking or feeling. Many people think that I'm a Geminii though I have no planets in this sign. Mercury is stronly placed in my chart so I think it gives me a "heady" quality to my personality. I guess we also project what we have the least. I have water water everywhere but most would not consider me emotional - my emotions run very deep.
I have a boss who is an Aqua with lots of fire and air - she's an emotional wreck and expresses her emotions very freely. Except for Neptune in Scorp she has no water.People would consider her to have more emotions than I have, but yet when problems arise she will not go deep into herself and work through her emotions. I can do this with great ease. Maybe my emotions are more in balance???I guess this is another situation where we express what we have the least??

The 'you are attracted to what you lack' theory seems to be quite popular so far, quite interesting...

Lauren: Unfortunately, I dont know her birth time so I dont know the planets in house placements or the major angles. She is a Cap sun (and merc)/ Cancer moon, and is mostly Earth/Water and she has 4 planets (venus/jupiter/uranus/neptune) in Sag. I have 1 planet- Saturn, in an earth sign (Virgo). I do have a Virgo asc though and 2 planets in the second house (merc and mars). So i dont particularly lack earth, but that would be the least in terms of planets, just 1. Im covered with the other elements well though it seems. Any feedback on this please?

The "lack of" theory that has always made the most sense to me is that you will either focus like crazy on that which is lacking or completely ignore that which is lacking.

I have very little air in my chart and I had trouble in school as a kid, but over time school and education have become the biggest influences in my life and career.

Hi L78, your Saturn is a singleton in earth -only earth planet- even though you have a Virgo asc. Singletons are meant to give you traits of the planet/sign involved. In your case, saturn = capricorn traits..Does this ring true? Have a look at the saturn singleton interpretation at http://astrologyclub.org/ and see if you find it accurate.

I think this could go two different directions. Either you are pretty earthy and have Saturnian traits such as being stable, grounded, responsible, which would help in a relationship with a Cappy girl. She'd find it easier to relate to you and trust you - which capricorn doesn't do easily if ever..OR, you are only a little bit earthy and don't really put much value on earth traits, seeing them as something you could easily go without. In this case you'll most probably make her feel a bit uneasy and cautious. Capricorn girls are cautious of anything that says *unstable*. This doesn't mean she wouldn't be as attracted. I'm pretty sure she is attracted regardless of whether you come accross as Mr Responsible or Mr Irresponsible..but whether or not she'll ever act on the attraction does depend on this.

Your suns are squared but for some reason I don't think this would be the biggest problem in a relationship with her. Libra men are very attracted to Capricorn placements I've noticed. I guess it could be because Capricorn projects a very aloof exterior which leaves Libra with plenty of space to breathe so they don't feel suffocated or emotionaly harassed -something they tend to feel with most girls.

On the other hand, that Cancer moon, I'm not so sure about. If she had a Sag moon added to her stellium, I'm sure you'd get on famously, but that Sun/Moon square coupled with the Sun/Sun square will probably create some friction. Maybe not short term..but long term, you could easily get on each other's nerves. It isn't all bad news though. It does depend a lot on the rest of your synastry. If you have a few conjunctions and trines elsewhere, especially nice mars/venus/mercury connections, this would considerably smooth out the sun/moon square in my opinion.

I made a post on sun/moon squares here, if it helps: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/006851.html

Cappyme lol, you got me thinking for a sec, but then I read on and realised that it *is* possible

According to astrology-numerology I have"

Air - 10
Water - 5
Earth - 1
Fire - 0

Actually the lack of earth desription fits me very well, especially the part of "not feeling at home on planet Earth" part. I will admit common sense may not be my strong suit - I often hear the voice of common sense, and often frequently disregard it.

The absence of fire only so-so fit me, but I think my prepondeence of air kind of compensates for that. I don't have a problem with self-expression, but I do lack self-confidence and competitiveness. My only fire planet, Neptune, which doesn't get a point by this system, gets a lot of say in my chart - it's a singleton, in the 3rd house (ruled by my chart ruler) and rules my moon. But since it's a water planet it's a kind of conflicted fire presence.

According to Bob marks, my lack of frie would make me supermacho to iovercompensate. LOLOLOL. No, not really. Sorry.

The preponderence of air does fit me more or less, except that business of being people-oriented. Fat chance of that. I am really sort of inbetween the dedscrips from air preponderence and Air/water type.

I didn't qualify for a preponderance in any element.

By that:

Fire = 7 (Sun and Moon)
Water = 3 (Venus and Jupiter)
Earth = 3 (Mercury and Saturn)
Air = 2 (Mars)

Lauren- Hi! That was a very deep article on Singletons- very interesting! I guess I do find issues with authority, saving others (and not always myself), and I am more results oriented vs process oriented, but do understand the importance of the process, and will cover it-... hopefully.. and yes, i can be pretty stressed sometimes... wow that article felt like I was on a psychologists couch lol.

In response to what you posted, I think I am stable and grounded (but only to an extent- I have the scorpio flee or fight instict sometime (scorpio stellium venus-mars-uranus), and i can be responsible sometimes, but I find it to be a burden even though I can handle it. When I dont handle it and am rebelliuos, then it bugs me and gives me stress. I do sorta tend to reject cap traits tho, it seems we have similar goals, just very diff ways to get to them usually- this is mainly in the men. The women, I know a few others in addition to the Miss' in question, I get along and one of them, we used to banter for fun quite often. There is an attraction as you said. I have stelliums in boh scorpio and libra (sun moon pluto) I do appreciate etchical Caps though- they are good people, and dont like ones I find to be underhanded- I think that is the main deciding factor about myself and caps.

In regards to the lady in question, she has all her planets in either Sag OR Scorpio venus through pluto! Our suns dont square but our sun(me)/moon(her) would square most likely by aspect (depending on her time of birth)
She doesnt have a stellium by aspect in either scorp or sag though.
How do you think our similarity with the scorpio would affect the scenario please? in composite we have sun sextile moon and sun conj venus among other aspects. In synastry, apart from the sun/moon square, we mostly positive aspects, particularly in merc it seems.
Any thoughts on the above? Thanks!
