I think this is a really interesting way to look at the signs and houses!
I seem to fit into your theory, Lauren:
Signs
7 Universal (Sun,Mercury,Venus, Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus,Neptune)
4 Personal (Moon, Ascendant, Mars, Pluto)
0 Personal

although by houses it's a totally different picture:

Houses
1 Universal (Moon)
1 Social (Jupiter)
8 Personal (the rest)

it's interesting also to think about the difference between the distribution across the signs vs. the houses.

ooooooo spooky! I guess I'm primitive, me oriented and universal all @ the same time. LOL. Evolved yet unevolved.

I have NO plantes in houses 5-8.

All planets are divided between 1-4 and 9-12

Social
Leo Virgo Libra Scorpio = 4
5,6,7,8 = 6

Universal
Sadge Capricorn Aqua Pisces = 6
9,10,11,12 = 0

Social majority here.

WilsonTC,

Yeah, that site she notes is by someone who practiced with Richard Idemon.

Thx ppls

GemNymph, I agree.. Having transpersonal planets does not make you moral or immoral. I think Jupiter is more about the kind of morals you have..But it does create a strong urge to change the world and judge it. The way you go about that depends on a lot of other things, in your chart and outside it. Hitler obviously went about it the worst way possible. I think a balance between the three is best, lucky you GN lol

About psychic phenomena OoOoooOoOo spooky hee, I think water signs are first on the list. Water doesn't think logically of practically, it feels. Fire also doesn't think logically or practically, it intuits. Air is logical. Earth is practical.

This is based purely on the nature of the signs..so I'm not talking about people of those signs, but the element in itself wherever it is in your chart.

Any earth or air person could be very intuitive, but I don't think it would be the earth and air element in their charts that gives them that intuition. A highly aspected Pluto or Pluto on an angle. A highly aspected Neptune or Neptune on an angle. Jupiter aspects for learning about spirituality, though Jupiter isn't really psychic as such. The placement of the moon, moon in a water sign can be extremely intuitive, regardless of the sun sign. Mercury/Neptune aspects etc..

Likewise, any water or fire sign could have adverse aspects that make them less psychic or intuitive. An afflicted neptune could mean you *think* you have good intuition when really you're deluding yourself..for instance

Maybe sun signs, in this case are a matter of what you *think* you can do well. Water signs might think they are psychic and base everything on feelings. Fire signs might think they are intuitive and base everything on hunches. When their feelings and intuition are supported by psychic aspects, they are usually quite accurate in their assumptions that they can do these things. Other times, they might run into trouble due to thinking they can feel or intuit when this intuition could be flawed..a Neptune square Merc or Moon might do this..

On the other hand, air and earth signs would base their thinking on practical facts or logic FIRST and foremost. Those who have psychic aspects in their charts would dismiss their feelings and hunches in first instance, perhaps, up until, their psychic ability is proven to them..It then becomes logical (air) or practical (earth) to count on it.

To everyone who got disappointed in having mainly Personal Planets, or no Transpersonal.. it doesn't make you self-centred. That interpretation skews it a bit and makes it seem as though transpersonal is the best to have. Like GemNymph said Transpersonal has its downfalls.. They're probably worse than everyone else's downfalls, because they don't affect only them or a social group but the entire world. An immoral person with loads of transpersonal planets can cause much damage. Personal doesn't necessarily mean you're self-centred. It just means you are more occupied with yourself and your own personal things (which isn't a bad thing), than a person with a lot of social or transpersonal would be. You're probably more confident and more able to take on the world..and be perfectly happy with who you are. I think people with mainly personal would have a good chance of achieving their own personal dreams, without getting side tracked through constant worry about other people's wants and needs. Transpersonal on the other hand can't think about themselves and they often either day dream about or actively try to change the world for what they see as the "better"...sometimes it is and sometimes not..Usually they're not all that happy and get disappointed in the way things are going in the world. Personal/Social would be a lot happier with the status quo as it is atm

Tim and AG, thanx for pointing that out. That site is pretty popular at Linda and has been mentioned a few times. I've never heard of Richard Idemon before. Totally missed that note at the bottom of the page. If the stuff on astrologyclub.org is based on his work, I'm sure he'd have some interesting books

LOL! I was in splits thinking of Zala as primitive, the very knowflake who enlightened us all on Chiron

Lauren, you write very well when you write your own thing. Mercury trine Neptune/Pluto?
Do you have a link to your chart aspects?
Gemini Nymph also writes very well but she is a Gemini.

Very strong Neptune Aspects, Lauren!
Mars could be energizing Neptune's effects.
Venus trines Neptune, PLuto sextiles Neptune and so does Jupiter.
Plus your Mercury and Jupiter are in Pisces, challenged by Uranus Energy.
Wonderful chart for a spiritual oriented person. When transit Pluto conjuncts Natal Neptune 10-12 years from now, you might develop some super spiritual powers.

That's interesting IQ, I've never met one Pisces who I didn't get along with really well. There's a trend there lol

And I just got 80% Pisces on a quiz! My best friend is a Pisces - she doesn't know a lot about astrology but she's interested in it. She says things like..aries/pisces are pretty similar aren't they? hehe, even though they're not at all similar in their descriptions..but she thinks we're very similar so she always gets confused and thinks Aries is a water sign

Super Spiritual Powers..hmm I'd love that..I read scary things about Pluto transiting my Mars..so I wasn't looking forward to that transit lol

Zala, I just saw this. Thank you, but honestly NO WAY I write better than you do. You're one of the people on here who write very very nicely, only you don't post as much lately. But I've always liked the way you write.

You have loads of Neptune there yourself. You strike me as someone who would be similar to me in that piscean way. Wanting peace and caring about people. Only you'd probably go about it in a more diplomatic Libran way. Besides, I'm quite a bit younger and still have a lot to learn. You're a very spiritual person.

Oh and another thing. I read somewhere that the signs with the strongest psychic tendencies are Libra, Aqua, Leo, Sag, and Pisces.

Funny, I don't see the logic, but still the only two people I know who really have psychic abilities (I'm not talking about good intuition coupled with the confidece to listen to that inner voice, but a real out from there phenomenon) happen to be a Leo and an Aqua.

Lauren,

Thank you for the thread and your eloquent posts.

Planets in houses:

5 in personal houses (Moon, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto)

2 in social houses (Mars & True Node)

4 in universal houses (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter)

Planets in signs:

5 in personal signs (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter)

2 in social signs (Moon & Pluto)

4 in universal signs (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, True Node)

ASC - social sign ruling a universal house.

Sun - personal sign in a universal house.

Now what I don't know is...is this good or bad??

My balance (rather lack therof) is:
PERSONAL =
Mercury, Sun, Moon, Venus, North Node, Chiron, Mars and Saturn.

Social is the lonely Vertex.

Transpersonal planets=
Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter and Neptune.

Great topic, I have always been interested in orientations. Too bad they are not discussed as often as polarities, elements, and modalities are.

Personal

Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer: 1
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th house: 2

Interpersonal/Social

Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio: 3
5th, 6th, 7th, 8th house: 7

Transpersonal/Universal

Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces: 6
9th, 10th, 11th, 12th house: 1
