I did read somewhere that people who have lots of retrograde planets in their charts had misused planetary energies in their past lives that's why they have to learn to use them reasonably in this incarnation. What do you all think?

I have Mercury, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto retrograde

quote:
On average, most people have two or three retrograde planets, signifying past lessons that have not been learned or resolved. Some people, however, can have as many as five or six(heavy karma), and others none at all(clean slate). Below are the planets and what they signify when when retrograde.

Mercury retrograde: in past lives you have spoken or written carelessly or in a negative manner(especially if Mercury is badly placed or aspected) and in this life you are paying for it by being shy, quiet, or fearful of speaking up for yourself. Others may talk down on you or criticize you for no apparent reason.

Venus retrograde: in past lives you have been too selfish or indulgent(especially if Venus is badly placed or aspected) and now you must give more of yourself and exercise restraint if you are to be successful in your dealings with others.

Mars retrograde: in past lives you were too aggressive or impatient with others(especially if Mars is badly placed or aspected) and now you feel helpless to defend yourself or initiate anything.

Jupiter retrograde: in past lives you abused your wealth and influence and compromised your morals by indulging in liquor and sex and gambling(especially if Jupiter is badly placed or aspected). In this life, you must become more ethical and disciplined if you are not to repeat your mistakes and further debase yourself.

Saturn retrograde: in past lives you were very mean, cold, heartless, and stingy, thinking only of your status, wealth, and power or control over others(especially if Saturn is badly placed or aspected). In this life you have no ambition or power, or find it very difficult to maintain, and may now be at the mercy of others.

Uranus retrograde: in past lives you were a rebel, revolutionary, or scientist who caused a lot of mayhem(especially if Uranus is badly placed or aspected). In this lifetime, you may be tempted to repeat your rabble rousing but it will backfire and make you the victim instead. Whatever you do, you must be totally honest and humane, otherwise you will invite trouble.

Neptune retrograde: in past lives you were very deceptive and immoral attracting scandal and persecution(especially if Neptune is badly placed or aspected). You lied and cheated and refused to face reality, and may have even committed suicide, and in this lifetime it is very easy for you to fall into the same traps unless you exercise discipline and faith.

Pluto retrograde: in past lives you resorted to criminal acts and lascivious behaviour(especially if Pluto is badly placed or aspected), and in this life you may be subject to same.

I have Uranus and Neptune retrogade. I have already suffered the rabble rousing punishment in my teenage. And in one of my past lives I did commit suicide!
This is excellent information, Peri!
Thumbs up again to you!

Whoa Proxieme, 6 Rxs! I have 3 and I think they are too much. You are my Rx heroine! Pluto, Neptune and Uranus here. How are they manifesting in your chart? Does it affect you when planets go Retro?

Peri, would you say that people with Neptune Rx are more suicidal, or more prone to suicidal thoughts than average people? (what's average anyway...) Just a thought.

Yes probably, especially if they have stressfully aspected Neptune.

When my transiting Neptune opposed natal Saturn and transiting Saturn opposed natal Neptune(R), I did have suicidal thoughts.

Though my natal Neptune makes only supportive aspects (including trine to Saturn).

Yes that's interesting. I've always wondered about the significance of a Rx in a chart.

I have Neptune, Venus & Jupiter in Rx. Hmmm.

My partner has none...& in this life, he can come right off the hinges, and I'm rigid. I'm going to check out the rest of my family.

Thanks Peri.

Great string Peri!

Saturn retrograde: in past lives you were very mean, cold, heartless, and stingy, thinking only of your status, wealth, and power or control over others(especially if Saturn is badly placed or aspected). In this life you have no ambition or power, or find it very difficult to maintain, and may now be at the mercy of others.
such cruel words *cries*

Pluto retrograde: in past lives you resorted to criminal acts and lascivious behaviour(especially if Pluto is badly placed or aspected), and in this life you may be subject to same.
Like whoa!!! lol okay

And I have Saturn and Pluto conj

btw is there anyway to overcome these? Or advice on what you must learn.
I’m not power hungry ( anymore apparently (@_@) ) - and I’ve never committed a criminal act.

A retro planet is when you see a lil' Rx sign next to your planet in your chart etc.It basically means that when viewed from the earth, the planet was travelling in the opposite direction,so instead of moving from say....taurus to gemini, the planet now moves from taurus towards aries....

The frequency at which this happens changes for each planet, mercury happens a quite a few times a year, the other planets arent sooo frequent.

When a planet goes retro, all the energys are pointed inwards towards yourself rather that to the outside world, and these planets dont seem to be as forcefull as normal motion planets.

For a more detailed info, use google...

WOW! I'm getting pretty good at this....,i think I'll start giving predictions in a few months...

Hope the stuff above is right...

Oh man..that really sucks..Karma has bitten me back so many times and I know I have alot of inner work to do but those meanings sound so pessimistic.

Is this how we deal with retrogrades?

By Portia Nelson
(1) I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost ... I am hopeless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

(2) I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I'm in the same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

(3) I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in ... it's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

(4) I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

(5) I walk down another street.

Well in that case my partner was a selfish and indulgent scientist who wallowed in liquor, sex and gambling, whilst partaking in criminal acts and lascivious behaviour! Yep, that fits!

Seriously though, the Venus retrograde rings true in that case and he does have a tremendous need to cause rebellion but only to do good for others. Looks like he's really learning his lessons

What does it mean if you have Nodes in retrograde? Both his and my True Nodes are retro.

I thought i had heard that retro planets meant you were an old soul ... never heard any of this .. but it is some what fitting ... i have Jupiter Retro ... and from some diff reports i've had done in the past ... the abuse of wealth and influence was reported with in them. Also been down the road in this life, dealing with Sex, drugs and liquor .... yet, have since changed those ways. ok, wait, so i do smoke a lil pot and drink ... but nothing like it used to a few years back.

What would Chiron retro signify??

My love has Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto in retro! YIKES... and according to a local astrologer, he did commit suicide in his preious life.

Nodes as well as the world's astrology stages go backwards.

The motion of the nodes is normally retrograde periods of direct motion are considered unfortunate. The best way to understand the astrological nature of the Nodes might be to envisage them as bubbling pools of karmic energy. These have a massive potency, which is associated with powerful events and feelings whenever they are activated by progressions or transits. Because the nodes are pools of karma associated primarily with the house in which they are located, the related effects are deep and often seem almost inevitable. It is not for nothing that they are called the Dragon's Head and Tail.

Hmm to tell the truth I don't think retros and direct nodes are that bad.

Retros are your pastlife mistakes you have to learn to get over and a deep hole you have to learn to walk around, that's all.

Speaking about direct nodes, well there is not much info on nodes in direct motion really but somehow I don't think direct nodes can be 'unlucky' or unfortunate either. I'd rather think that your karma goes in its own unusual and unique way (which can be somewhat in direct unconformity to generally accepted religious/social principles and rules??)

What do you think?

Man oh man I must have been a really evil person in a past life having five planets in retrograde. Odd thing the worst thing I can remember is in a past life I was accused of a murder I didn't commit. I don't have any memories before 1888 or after 1928. And in all of them I was a good person. I wonder if I'm blocking out bad memories of myself because I feel guilty. Do those retrogrades you were bad in your last past life or like a past life in say the last 200 years? This is so so interesting to me!!!
