Salisa,

Aside from the "past life" suggestions made on the posted thread, retrograde planets indicate where our energy is "held back" in this life. As a result, people with retrograde planets tend to work VERY HARD on expressing their retrograde energy. The end result is frequently that retrograde planets indicate where, as adults, a person has very STRONG energy.

The rertrograde planets you mention are all "outer" planets or, in other words, planets which are beyond the personal, every day energies we have with each other. The result of focusing all this attention to the "outer" planets is it tends to make a person interested in the "big picture" in life (i.e., in your case knowledge (Jupiter), structure (Saturn), innovation (Uranus), spirituality (Neptune), power (Scorpio) ). This may take your attention (and energy) away from the personal, day-to-day issues of life.

Retrogradating,

Tim

Retrograde Jupiter = "enough"....you tend to have "just enough" until you learn to make your concept of "enough" bigger.

Retrograde Saturn is more "responsive" than responsible. You will take on responsibility for others just so you do not have to feel their pain. You must learn to be more responsive to your own needs.

Retrograde Uranus often feels frustrated because s/he cannot change things. The problem is that--relative to others, you are born "changed"--meaning evolved. Your presence changes reality by showing otherwise unrecognized possibilities. Stop trying to change yourself to be more like others. YOu were intended to be unique.

Pluto Retrograde--Pluto really means "I can." When retrograde you cannot do many things in the way that other people do. YOu must learn to accept your own way and do things in your own way as an example of possibilities for others to learn from. Literally, there is a little "magic" in your aptitudes.

This material is from my book "Retrogrades and Consciousness." If interested, contact me or check my website.

I got this from one of my books called The Rainbow Bridge Between the Inner and Outer Planets by Barbara Hand Clow. It's actually a book on Chiron...

quote:
retrograde planets are best understood from a magnetic perspective, from an energy point of view, and their activity is best understood conceptually as a time dynamic. direct planets are electrical, and they cause energy to charge and move; retrograde planets are magnetic and draw energy into the chart. the time dynamic refers to the fact that retrograde planets tend to function in the past, present, and future simultaneously. in the short run on the physical plane, this time dynamic is confusing because with direct planets the action just starts at a point in time and goes forward, and it is more easily observed, but this time dynamic lends great subtlety to the psyche.
the outer planets are retrograde more frequently than the inner planets; the sun and moon are never retrograde, of course; and it can be asserted that the energies of the outer planets are the most subtle due to the longer retrograde phases.
