I've made the obsevation, that many eldest children are born with their son in the same sign as their mothers asc. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes. My Ascendant is Sag 13. And here is the kicker: My son, our elder child, is:

SUN Sag 13
Vertex Sag 13
Vesta Sag 13

All which then sit on my Ascendant.

Both children have Cancer Rising which is my Vertex.

in my case NO! I am Leo with Cancer rising

my first son is Libra with Taurus rising
my second son is Virgo with Gemini rising

Talking only on very tight conjunction:

with first one I have
our venus conjunct in virgo in 1 deg.
his antivertex on my Saturn
his Mars exactly on my Ceres
his Lilith in conjunct my Sun in about 3 deg

With second one
his Venus and Mercury is conjunct my Sun/Jupiter in less than 1 deg.
his Vertex is conjunct my Mars
his Jupiter and Pallas is conjunct my Kiron
his Saturn is conjunct in 2 deg my NN

While charts do show family resemblances, it is common to see the grandparents' signs shown also.

My four children have two Aries parents, one Sag Moon-Sco rising, one Libra Moon-Gem rising. Our four children are:

Cancer, Sco Moon conjunct Saturn, Libra Asc Cancer, Cap Moon, Sco Rising conjunct Saturn
Scorpio, Aqu Moon, Cancer Asc
Taurus, Cap Moon, Libra Asc

These children have one Cancer grandparent, one Taurus, and one Scorpio (other is Pisces and the Libra Ascendants have Neptune rising)

There are parallels in my family... but it is the Moon position...
Not always, but then there are those lessons you must learn from the people in your life as well...

Here they are in various degrees in my family.
I am Sun Scorpio, Moon Capricorn, Leo Asc
My Mom.. Sun Capricorn, Moon Scorpio, Asc unknown
My Dad.. Sun Scorpio, Libra Moon and Asc
My Brother.. Sun Capricorn, Aries Moon and Asc (note opposite dad's asc and Moon, same Sun as Mom)

Within my own family...
Son, firstborn- Sagittarius Sun, Scorpio Moon, Aries rising.(29th degree)
His faher is Aries Sun, possibly Taurus Moon, unknown asc..
My husband ( his step dad) Aries Sun, Capricorn Moon, Sagittarius Asc
Our daughter- Libra Sun Gemini Moon, Pisces Asc
Note... son and husband, same Sun/Asc signs, reverse order.
My Grandfather was a Sag Sun.
There are definate interesting themes, in the repeating signs, as well as the opposing ones and how they interact.

i am pisces sun, venus 29 deg pisces, mars, mercuty and jupiter in a close conjunct in aqu with saturn in aqu as well. my first born is aries, pisces rising, pisces moon, my second born is very aquarius with most her plantes situated in aquauris and cap. interesting observation.

Well I'm my moms only child that I know of, and her sun sign is Virgo and my AC is Virgo (we get along just like best friends would). Oddly enough my fathers AC is in Leo and in my chart Leo falls in my 12th house, I don't know if that has any real astrological significance but most of my life I have thought of him as my enemy.

my mother also had a aquarius rising(early degrees) i am an aquarius rising(later degrees)...different MC's...and some houses, also we have a lot of karmic connections, BOTH our moons hitting each other's south nodes, venus conj. pluto, etc etc....also her sun hit my south node, we were inseperatable when i was young, i was always with her.

I remember reading some where that the AC has similar qualities as the moon. So... would it still be karmic if saturn where in aspect to the sun,AC or moon? My mother and I, on both sides have aspects to our saturn and moon and her sun is conjunct my AC. I've for some time now thought I might have been like her father or something like that in a past life, just based on the relationship we have now and when I was little I was always trying to assume the role as head of the family. I was a weird kid

I am the eldest, my mom has a Cancer Asc...I'm a Scorpio Sun. So, yea, it doesn't work for me I guess. But I have a Moon singleton..I've also got her Sun(Capricorn) sign as an Earth Singleton (expressed through Neptune) in my chart...

My sister's ASC and Sun are exactly conjunct my mother's moon.

but I don't think that counts...she's younger anyway...

Libra,Denmark - my ascendant conjuncts my mom's sun in Sagittarius. It's the reverse of what you're noticing. So, I guess it can go either way. Neat stuff huh?

lalalinda, I was born with my Saturn conj. my Dad's Saturn. He was having a Saturn Return at 29. He and my mom separated for 7 months while I was an infant, between 6 and 12 months or so. I think it was all part of his Saturn return. But they got back together before I can even remember - and stayed that way until I was 12. So at least I got through the wonder years with 2 parents.

This seems reversed for me as my daughter and son both have more placements similar to their fathers.

My husband: Libra sun/Leo rising/Sag moon
Daughter: Sag sun/Gemini rising/Leo moon
Son: Gem sun/Cancer rising/Sag moon
Me: Pisces sun/Sco rising/Cancer moon

My daughter has absolutely no water in her chart, but does have neptune, mars, and venus in the 8th house.
My son is cancer rising, has a grand trine in water houses with neptune being in the 8th. So, I guess they both have water qualities.

It's weird how family astrology works..there are lots of common threads.

But I forgot to add, my mom is pisces rising and I'm a pisces sun.

I’m a Pisces Sun and mum has a Pisces Moon.
Mum has a Gemini asc and my sister has Gemini Moon & asc.
My dad has a Pisces Moon.

Also note that my step dad has a Leo Moon and my sister has a Leo Sun and my brother has Leo asc.
That’s a lot of ego running around!

this is what I call astrological DNA
because there are so many astrological traits you get directly from your parents. And as someone said previously from your grandparents as well.

my father was a Leo Sun, Sag Moon, Aries Asc.
I am an Aries/Sun Sag/Asc (this applys to LibraDenmark's original theory but in reverse.) He had Uranus conjunct the Asc. and I have it trined.

On the other hand my mother is a Cap/Sun with Saturn in Aries and Moon/Uranus conjunction in Taurus

I'm Aries/Sun with Capricorn Saturn and Moon in Taurus square Uranus. And like her conjunction my square is close to exact.
