LOL!!! What a debate going on here..Each sign is special in their own way and well if you know Astrology and how each sign operates then you know how special you are and what you contibute to the universe. No need to keep debating about it, Pisces do what they do and you either love it or you hate it. I love it this is what us Pisces do. And you have to be a Pisces or with some significant Pisces influence to get what we do. IP: Logged |

My fav on Swerve's fantabulous insights quote: we "know" what they are experiencing, because at one point in the karmic wheel we "were" them.

Hello all. I am new to the group (just joined today), but I’ve been studying astrology since I first read Linda’s description of the “Scarlet O’Hara” Aries female at age 16. Though my sun is barely there (just one degree into Aries), I could definitely relate (I have Mars in Aries too). I joined this group to talk about the Yod and some numerological issued but just couldn’t help jumping in here too. You see, I am Pisces rising and have Mercury conjunct Venus in Pisces in the 12th House as well. It wasn’t until I delved deeper into the study of Astrology in my twenties (after the dreaded Saturn return) that I started to understand this strong influence in my life and why descriptions of Aries were right on the mark in many respects, but also seemed to miss important aspects of my personality. Now in my thirties, I have a much deeper understanding of this Aries-Pisces blend.Oddballs, “fruit loops,” and “lost and haunted souls,” definitely describes most people that gravitate into my life. I’m also the first person everyone calls when they need to talk about their problems. They know that I will just listen and reflect back that I understand their suffering if that’s what they need at the moment, or I’ll help them figure out solutions, or at least the first baby step to take (that Aries cardinal energy always wants to see forward progression!). I have both astrological and numerological influences that point toward the lesson of self-determination – assuming responsibility, initiating action, taking control and becoming master of one’s own destiny – and it is inextricably bound with social responsibility and duty to the greater good. In other words, my self-determination must be carried out with the utmost compassion and concern for others and not be just self-serving. This is my mantra when dealing with all those oddballs and suffering souls drawn into to my life. I try to help them accept and celebrate their individuality – if that’s what they’re struggling with – or take responsibility/control in their lives. I believe suffering is a state of mind, not a state of grace. Of course, I still attract the occasional opportunistic “sufferer” but part of the Piscean universal understanding that Swerve spoke of so eloquently, is also the ability to recognize BS, no matter how artfully it is disguised. This may help further clarify the discussion about the “savior” complex. Yes, there is a side of the Piscean condition associated with delusion and fatality, but I think it has more to do with Neptune affliction (either in the natal chart or activated by transit) than Sun in Pisces. Even the most logical Libra or practical Capricorn can get drawn to a “lets suffer together under the delusion that we’re helping each other” relationship when Neptune is afflicted. It’s a valid observation in discussing the sign ruled by Neptune, but irrelevant to why Pisces tends to attract the “fringe” of society, IMHO. Granted, not all the oddballs we attract are suffering or need help. Many are just my eccentric and quirky but well-adjusted friends who I love dearly. My mother always said if there’s a “square peg” anywhere in the vicinity, I would find and befriend them. When I decided to get a dog and was researching different breeds a couple of years ago, I tried to explain my choice on the phone to Mom, but it wasn’t until we showed up at Thanksgiving that she got the full picture. “Leave it to you to pick the oddest-looking dog out of all the breeds,” she said. My choice: a Papillon, bred for their HUGE ears that resemble an open-winged butterfly and notorious for their quirky personalities. IP: Logged |

RamFish, Welcome fellow Texan! Thank you for your contribution. Very insightful. I also use astrology for a tool for better self understanding. My mom used to live in Austin, and during many walks on the river at various points, inevetably one or two "under the bridge" folks would approach me, not her and not ask for money but try to engage me in the strangest conversations. So I quit walking on the river with her! Could be a little scary at times. Peace, Love and Light!IP: Logged |

RamFish ~ to the forum! I enjoyed your eloquent post -- love the "square pegs" description by your mom I've enjoyed contacts with those "square pegs" in my life too -- I'm just not satisfied with the "normal" There's some great stuff on Yods in these pages, I'll bump a couple later today (I have them bookmarked) -- do you have a Yod? There are at least 3 of us here with Moon/Neptune/Pluto yods..... 'Zala PS: I chuckled when I saw your screen name -- I've usually called my son "the little RamLion" in these boards IP: Logged |

Thanks for the warm welcome. Glad to be here.Hipichick, Austin is a strange town indeed. I think it must have a lot of Pisces influence, although I can’t seem to find an exact founding date to check. While its official slogan is "Live Music Capital of the World," Austinites seem to be much fonder of the unofficial slogan plastered on bumper stickers, coffee mugs and T-shirts all over this town, which is "Keep Austin Weird." (Amen!) ‘Zala, I’ll look for the Yod stuff. Thanks. Yes, I have a Mars/Uranus/Neptune Yod in my natal chart pointing to Mars. Since Mars is the faster moving planet, and all of the aspects have a 1 degree orb or less, I am told it is a "true" yod (yeah, I looked for ways to disqualify it, but no such luck!). Here’s the breakdown... Mars 25’ 56” in Aries (1st House Plac; 2nd House Eq) Uranus (retro) 26’ 58” in Virgo (7th House Plac and Eq) Neptune (retro) 26’ 22” in Scorpio (8th House Plac; 9th House Eq)
