Hey Everyone! I've this book by steven forrest called "The Changing Sky" and he has some brilliant Progressed moon interpretations which I want to share with everyone. So post which sign your progressed moon is in and which house it is in and I'll post the interpretation for you. .

To find the Progressed moon, just go to astro.com, to the extended chart selection, go to the arrow down thingy and select 'progressed chart' and voila you'll find which sign the progressed moon is in. For the house, its a bit complicated, check the degrees of your progressed moon, and place it in your natal birth-chart and check which house it is in. For example if my Progressed moon is in 19Libra and my natal 7th house starts from 6Libra and ends with 2Scorpio.. then my progressed moon is in the 7th house.

If you find all this too confusing, just post your birth details and I'll post the corresponding interpretations.

For those of you who don't know what a Progressed moon is. Here's an excerpt from 'Changing sky' :

quote:
The moon in the birthchart represents a kind of emotional input for which we have a perpetual craving. As astrologer Stephen Arroyo has observed, the moon shows where we feel comfortable. Astrologer Noel Tyl describes it as a "reigning need." With the natal moon in Taurus, for example, we feel comfortable in a secure, stable, natural environment. We have a reigning need to establish ourselves in that kind of situation. That is the kind of emotional input he or she needs in order to feel content.

Parallel reasoning applies to the progressed Moon, but unlike the natal Moon, the reigning needs to which it refers are transitory. We might call them passing whims - provided we recognize that these whims are intimately linked to fundamental psychological and spiritual processes within us. As the moon progresses around your birthchart, it stimulates into action your basic house/sign combinations. When the Moon progresses through a new sign, we end a chapter of life dominated by one constellation of emotions. Our moods, in other words, undergoes a change. The progressed moon, tells us what we feel like doing. In predictive astrology, it serves as the emotional weathervane, always pointing in the same direction as the winds of the heart. The progressed Moon indicates, at any given moment, where our heart is.

Once we let the progressed Moon show us where our heart is, we also know that our attention is likely to be in the same place, and that area is being stirred up with developments and activity. Often the progressed Moon points out our current area of greatest emotional emphasis.

Normally the Progressed moon remains in one sign or house for about 2 and a half to 3 years.

Sure pix, I'll post the interpretations for you . Btw which house is your progressed moon in (in your birth chart)?

Progressed Moon in Aquarius: Break the rules! With the progressed moon in Aquarius, your mood needs to be rebellious and free-spirited. Other people have been too successful at telling you what to feel. This is a time to defend and explore your individuality. Experiment. Think anything. Don't be afraid of anyone's disapproval. Something deep within you, something irremediably irrational, something explosive, is crying out for freedom. That voice is trying to inspire you to make your life your own. Listen to it. If you silence the voice for fear that someone to whom you have given too much power will hear it, you are setting yourself up for trouble. Sooner or later, the walls crack and all your stored up anger, rebelliousness, and iconoclasm come pouring out at once, beyond control. If you let that happen, you feel crazy and unbalanced-and you unnecessarily hurt the people around you. Better a lot of little tremors than one horrendous earthquake.
Michael Jackson's innovative individuality was stimulated by his Aquarian Moon progression--and in early 1984 the music industry recognized him for it by awarding him more Grammy awards than anyone in history. John Belushi shows the other side of the same lunar progression. His rebelliousness proved self-destructive, as he unintentionally killed himself with a drug injection.

Let me know how accurate it is for you . And if you want to know anything else to do with progression aspects or something. Feel free to ask me, so I'll post the corresponding interpretation.

Cool! Thanks!

It's still in my sixth, though Aquarius is my seventh house in natal chart.
I natally, have a Capricorn Moon in the sixth house.

I am all about showing myself right now, and I have my resume out along with cover letter and application, to some places. I am anxious for individuality right now.. time for a change.
So I see how this would make sense, in my house of 'work-service to others'.
Thank you!

Pix:- I'm glad to hear that. Let me know how your job thingy goes .

Iqhunk:- I read that article, its quite insightful, I don't think I've understood it all but I might've gotten the gist of it. Is it referred to karma or something??

Anyways funkyaquarian pixie. Here's your progressed moon interpretation:

Progressed Moon in Virgo: Your mood shifts gears now. Instead of the self-celebration characteristic of Leo, you now move into an attitude of hyperawareness regarding your faults and shortcomings. However, don't waste time being hard on yourself. That is not the point of this lunar progression. Instead of tearing yourself down, use that energy to build yourself up. Ofcourse you are crazy. Of course you are neurotic, greedy, power-hungry, untrustworthy, insincere. Welcome aboard! That's the human condition, and cataloguing your glitches won't change anything. Pick one of them and start working on it. That's the thrust of Virgo. Roll up your sleeves and change a few bad habits. Acquire some better skills. If the energy of this mood is not squandered in pointless self-criticism, it can be directed into an extremely fertile period of preparation, self-improvement, and methodical growth.
Eubie Blake honed his compositional skills under this progression-while playing piano is a bordello. It is not always the most glorious of times, but a succesful navigation of Virgo's tricky corridors can set the stage for exciting developments later on.

The progressed moon in 12th house will be given in the next post.

FAP your progressed moon in 12th house interpretation:

Progressed Moon in 12th house: Let go. You have come to the end of a cycle. Accept that. Something within you is failing now, but don't worry-once it fails utterly, you will be happier, wiser, and stronger. In two or three years, you are going to go through a rebirth. In fact, you are going through one right now, but it's very private and internal. Your main task currently is to clear away everything that stands between you and that new beginning. What was once opportunity now enslaves you. What once tasted sweet has now turned bitter and dry. Recognize those transformations and release the past or you fight a losing battle for your right to retain your slavery and bitterness. In the previous house, you were asked to clarify your priorities, deciding what was truly important to you. If you accomplished that and were not blinded by glitter or praise or peer pressure, then you move into your twelfth house progression streamlined and simplified. If, on the other hand, you are retaining attachments and identifications that are too childish to be carried forward into the next cycle, then those structures are torn from you not. Again, we experience a time of withdrawal. Find the deep center around which the merry-go-round of life orbits. Find it and stay there, where it is safe. Meditate, pray, relax, stare into candle flames-and trust the process that is happening within you. Trust it, even though it is beyond your control. Trust it, if for no other reason than that you have no other choice.
Charlemagne, the great-warrior king of a millennium ago, felt a surge of discontent in his character, a sense of his own inadequacy-feelings typical of the twelfth house Moon progression he was undergoing. He sought counsel, and in the spring or summer of 781 he found Alcuin, the mysterious Celtic deacon who taught him astronomy, mathematics, medicine, rhetoric, music-the knowledge of the classical world. Nineteen years later, the vision that was beyond his understanding at the time blossomed: He was crowned Holy Roman Emperor, bringing Europe closer to unity than it has ever been until now. We ofcourse must be cautious about the birthtime of historical figures, but in this case, the chart seems to be working quite well.

Let me know how accurate it is . Unfortunately, the book doesn't have any Progressed Moon aspects, but it does have Progressed Sun, Ascendant, Midheaven, Mercury, Venus and Mars aspects to natal planets. So if you need any of those aspects, feel free to ask me and I'll post it for you .

Cappy,

How nice of you do this for everyone. I haven't really looked into progressions much, every now and then, but after reading this post it has definately piqued my curiosity.

My progressed moon is at 24 Cancer/8th house. Natally it is at 26 Cancer 9th house. I guess that means I am about to complete a lunar cycle? Is that accurate? Anyway, it's playing very much into my grand trine which now involves 4/8/12 houses. Very nice for a pisces gal like me.

Thanks again.

Lilygirl, here's your Progressed Moon interpretation:

Progressed Moon in Saggitarius: An expansive, exuberant, devil-may-care mood arises now, and lasts for two or three years. You are reacting against the inward intensity of the Scorpio Moon chapter you just finished. Suddenly the universe takes on a third dimension. Everything seems more vivid, more real. Senses tingling, you are ready to stretch out into life, seizing opportunities. The exotic in all its forms fascinates you now. Trust that feeling. You need a breath of fresh air in your life. Dare to change. Risk an adventure. Ride a hot air balloon. You are learning to break up routines of thought and feeling. You have memorized a moon. Shatter that memory. Flood yourself with impressions. Make yourself new.
Novelist Ursula K. Leguin wrote much of her prizewinning Earthsea Trilogy while her progressed Moon was in Sagittarius. She stretched her imagination into an adventuresome new environment full of magic and the possibility of surprise. The wizard world she created for us refects the mood we must strive to attain while our own Moon is progressiong through the Archer's sign. If you are not feeling inspiration, you need to stretch a little farther.

Progressed Moon in first house:- We are beginning a new cycle of experience, laying down the foundation of our next three decadesof life. Everything we undertake now--all new habits, new commitments, new attitudes--plants the seeds of the next three decades. The first house is like that; it's always a new beginning. Every breath we take now is important. With each step we bind ourselves to a new future. And yet we have no idea what we are doing! Emotionally the uncertainity is really the point we must understand. In the first house, we are improvising a new personality. An old cycle of experience has finished in the twelfth house. We must begin anew.
If the Moon is progressing trough your first house, you need to become a master of enlightened selfishness, learning to listen to your intuition about what feels like the right path--and then fellow that path no matter how much upset you create in the people around you. Don't let anything or anyone hold you back in the past you have outgrown. You are ready for something new. Feel your way and then go for it, wary of ego's excesses but warier still of letting opportunity slip away. In the immortal words of Joseph Campbell, it is now time to "follow your bliss."
With the Moon progressing through his first house, Walt Disney launched Mickey Mouse, and thereby launched himself on a roller coaster of experience that carried him through to the end of his life. Marie Curie won her first Nobel Prize under the same lunar placement, with similar results. On a darker note, Charles Manson also initiated a new cycle with the Moon progressing through his first house--the Tate-LaBianca murders occurred, and his long prison term began.

Let me know if this is accurate . And I don't have progressed moon aspects, but I do have progressed sun, ascendant, mercury, venus, mars and midheaven aspects to natal planets, so if you want any of those, feel free to ask me and I'll post it up for you .

mystical dream: here's your interpretations

Progressed Moon in Pisces: Relax, and trust this often surrealistic feeling. Laugh with it, because it will ask you to laugh--but the object of the humor is not your favorite one. It is yourself. Life begins to look like a cartoon now, two-dimensional, stylized--and funny. The cosmic joke. Pisces has the reputation of being the "mystical" sign, and in a sense that is true. It is here that consciousness confronts its true nature: that vast space between your ears. But so often we take "mystical" to be synonymous with "reverent" or "introverted"--and those moods have little to do with the Fishes. Here we are asked to experience the essential unity of life. We stare pie-eyed at the world, full of wonder. The progression of the Moon through this sign is often a friendly time, but a vague one. By taking ourselves less seriously--and by seeing our own pretenses mirrored in the crystal-clear pretenses of other--we prepare ourselves for the new emotional beginning in Aries. It is as if our deeper self sends us a simple but rather startling message: Erase the blackboard of your personality. Everything you know--and everything everybody else knows--is delightfully, hysterically wrong.
With his progressed Moon in Pisces, Jerry Brown heard the inner call and entered the Jesuit monastery. Such spiritual undertakings are quite appropriate to the Fishes, provided we recognize that the essential spiritual process lies in creating a vantage point within consciousness that is external to ego. Pumping ego up with self-important illusions has precisely the opposite effect. I once heard a Tibetan lama say that to ego, "enlightment is the ultimate disappointment." He understood Pisces very well.
Fidel Castro began his long invasion of Cuba under a Piscean-progressed Moon. He landed at Oriente in December 1956 with eighty-two men, all but twelve of whom were soon killed. He was succesful in the end, but he illustrates a very basic insight into this progressed lunar configuration: Our "reality testing" is too weak now to support vigorous commitments in the world of circumstance. Pisces represents a time of reflection, not action. Save the fireworks for Aries in a year or two.

The progressed moon in 4th house will be given in the next post .

mystical dream: here's your progressed moon in the fourth house intrp:

Progressed Moon in the 4th House: Running around gets tiring and unproductive after a while. With your progressed Moon entering the fourth house, the time has come for you to sit back and quietly take stock of yourself. Houses vary in size, so we can't make precise, generalized statements about timings, but roughly seven years have now elapsed since you launched your new lunar cycle. Your "mini-reincarnation" is stretching toward maturity, to find the maturity it seeks, the new character must confront the roots of its own behaviour. You are probably overextended. Cut back on the extraneous. Turn your volume down on your life. Have a long talk with yourself. Settle down--that talk will take two ir three years. You are ready for an encounter with your own personal myth. What are your ideals? What do you really want out life? How have you been fooling yourself or letting yourself be fooled by others? You might find yourself drawn closer to your family now--or closer to that modern version of family, the circle of special friends. Either way, the establishment and reaffirmation of personal roots is the issue. Oftentimes, people move to new homes now, or somehow reenergize their old ones. The "nesting instinct" is strong with us--and the egg we are hatching is a matured and chastened version of the personality we recreated when the progressed Moon was in the first house.
Muhammad Ali was drafted while the Moon progressed through his fourth house. He confronted himself, and found that he could not in good conscience fight in Vietnam. The decision cost him his heavyweight title and thrust him for a while out of the extreme activity of his life. Three years later, the same astrological position developed in Jane Fonda's birthchart. It was during the time of the invasion of Cambodia and the Kent State debacle. Like Muhammad Ali, she, too confronted her own conscience and made a stand.

Let me know your opinions on it . I don't have any Progressed moon aspects, but I do've Progressed Sun, Ascendant, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Midheaven aspects to the natal planets so feel free to ask me and I shall post the interpretation for you .

A.G, Here's your progressed moon interpretation

Progressed Moon in Saggitarius: An expansive, exuberant, devil-may-care mood arises now, and lasts for two or three years. You are reacting against the inward intensity of the Scorpio Moon chapter you just finished. Suddenly the universe takes on a third dimension. Everything seems more vivid, more real. The wizard world she created for us refects the mood we must strive to attain while our own Moon is progressiong through the Archer's sign. If you are not feeling inspiration, you need to stretch a little farther.

About the house, please let me know if your Progressed Moon is about a degree away from your 7th house cause in that case that interpretation might be relevant.

Progressed Moon in 6th house: Nose to the grindstone now. This is a time of hard work, responsibility, and relentless effort. Traditional astrologers speak of the sixth house Moon progression in terms of outward labour. The idea is accurate enough so far as it goes, but often our inner labours dwarf our outer ones now. This is frequently a humbling period. The time has come for you to assess your weakness--always an edifying process, but rarely a cheerful one. You are learning humility--don't learn humiliation by mistake. You are not stuck. You are no one's slave. You can change whatever behaviours and circumstances limit you, but wishing for such change is not the same as accomplishing it. Self-discipline and persistence are what's needed. Accept your responsibilities to others, but more importantly, to yourself. Be true to your word, and do what is right. Support yourself with new techniques and skills. Build a foundation of focused energy, honesty, and willingness to accept rightful criticism. Echoing the second house, you must once again prove yourself to yourself. Effectiveness is the keynote. You are experiencing a "darkness before the dawn."
Astronaut Eugene Cernan demonstrated his mastery of the sixth house lunar progression by piloting Apollo 10 to the Moon. Certainly the flight required long hours of intensive preperation along with absolute self-discipline and perfect concentration during the voyage itself--all sixth house lessons to be sure. Perhaps more poignant is the face that it was the next Apollo mission that actually landed on the lunar surface. Neil Armstrong will go down in history next to Christopher Columbus and Leif Erikson, while Eugene Cernan might be relegated to the role of a Vasca da Gama (who?). Still, he played his role perfectly and did not let ego get in the way of the execution of his mission, and that is the point in this phase of the progressed Moon's cycle through the houses.

Let me know your opinions on it .

mystical dream- thanks for the kind words, and thats nice to know .

Lilygirl- Its my pleasure . Whats happening in your life btw??

Spellbound- Thanks for the kind words . Its my pleasure, because many times Zala or someone else posts so many interpretations for us. Anyways yup you're about to complete your lunar cycle in about 2 months. In about a month or so your progressed moon would probably go to the 9th house. In that case, you should read the 9th house interpretation. Your 8th house interpretation is whats going to end in one or one and a half months.

Anyways here's your Progressed Moon interpretation:

Progressed Moon in Cancer: Your imagination and subjectivity are at one of their peaks during this phase of Luna's cycle through the signs. The progressed Moon's entry into Cancer puts you on notice that your heart needs some attention. With the Moon passing through other signs, sometimes life gets frantic; sometimes the mental or intellectual dimensions of your personality must be emphasized. Nothing wrong with that, but it does take a toll. Sooner or later, you have to sit down and listen to your feelings. Moon in Cancer is a quiet time. Let fantasies bubble up. Take time. Make a cup of tea. Scratch the cat's ears while she purrs in your lap. Cut back on outer stimulation--you've got inner stimulation enough to last you a couple of years. Security is an issue now, mostly because of the way security transalates into the freedom to pay no attention to the outer world. Stabalize your circumstances, hush the roar of events, and listen.
Such a mood motivated Henry David Thoreau when he withdrew to Walden Pond. It also inspired trumpeter Miles Davis when he made his first recording--and a jazz legend began to flow up from his introverted soul. John DeLorean was arrested for allegedly dealing in the international cocaine market while his progressed Moon was in the sign of Cancer. Did his urge for security overpower his normal Capricornish ability to test reality?

The interpretation of the progressed moon in 8th house will be given in the next post.

Spellbound, here's your Progressed Moon in 8th house interpretation:

Progressed Moon in 8th house: The dungeon gates fly open. Out fly wraiths and warlocks, demons and decievers. Among them are fierce angels, eager to lift you into new realms of inner strength, but impatient with your madness. With the progressed Moon in this house, you confront some of the less attractive aspects of your own character. It is not a pleasant process or a breezy one, but if you open yourself, it heals you. Half-percieved hungers and fears have been accumulating in the garbage cans of your psyche while you rightly concerned yourself with other issues. Without any clear awareness on your part, those hungers and fears have been exerting an influence in your life, making their shadowy presence felt, distorting your cans are brimming over and that it is time to carry out the trash. Quiet yourself now. Withdraw. A pattern I have found in myself and in my clients during this cycle is that a mood of depression quickly turns into a mood that is simply quiet as soon as the individual is left alone. We do often feel a deep need for intimacy and bonding with another at this time. Meet that need, but don't overdo it. At least half the answer must be your own. Learning to trust the "mating instinct" and to flow with it is a big part of the eighth house, but above all else, you need to face yourself.
Henry David Thoreau began his long sojourn at Walden Pond with the progressed Moon in the eighth house. Jerry Brown, the former governer of California, entered the Jesuit monastery under the same pattern. Both men reflected the urge for quiet self-scrutiny so characteristic of this progression.

Let me know how accurate it is for you .

thosa, here's your progressed moon interpretation:

Progressed Moon in Gemini: Flexibility is the point now. You have gotten too stiff, too sleepy, too predictable. Open yourself up. Recover your capacity to feel amazement. Speak, read, listen, write--these are your "yogas." Undertake them with spirit and verve. Aim your mental antennas at the world. If an idea or experience feels interesting to you, go investigate. Don't worry if you appear to be running around in circles. Keep it up and you are bound to run into something fascinating. You are gathering material now, and that is all you really need to consider. No master plans are necessary at this point in the lunar cycle. No matter how old you are, accept the idea that you have returned temporarily to childhood-- and let that notion fill you with exuberance and curiosity.
This was precisely the astrological mood that filled Charlemagne when he encountered Alcuin. Charlemagne, the great warrior-king of a millennium ago, felt a surge of discontent in his character, a sense of his own inadequacy. He sought counsel, and in the spring or summer of 781 he found Alcuin, the mysterious Celtic deacon who taught him astronomy, mathematics, medicine, rhetoric, music--the knowledge of the classical world. Nineteen years later, the vision that was beyond his understanding at the time blossomed: He was crowned Holy Roman Emperor, bringing Europe closer to unity that it has ever been until now. We of course must be cautious about the birthtimes of historical figures, but in this case, the chart seems to be working quite well. J.R.R Tolkien's progressed Moon was also in Gemini as he completed his epic Lord of the Rings.

The progressed moon in 9th house will be given in the next post.

thosa, here's your progressed moon in 9th house interpretation:

Progressed Moon in 9th house: Stretch yourself! With the Moon entering your ninth house, if your heart could speak, it would pound on its pulpit and tell you that life is for the living, and that the only thing wrong with you is that you are bored stiff with yourself. To the medievals, this was the house of "Long Journeys over Water." The progression doesn't always signify literal travel, but travel is a perfect metaphor. You need to break up old routines and patterns. You are more interesting than your circumstances would suggest. Do something about that. Take chances. Study something that fascinates you. Buy those tickets to Macchu Pichu you've been dreaming about for so long. Philosophize! Speculate about the meaning of life! In the film Harold and Maude, Ruth Gordon delivers a speech much like the preceding one, and ends it with the observation that if you live otherwise, "then you won't have anything to talk about in the locker room." If your Moon is progressing through this house, the best advice I can offer is to go find that old movie and sit through it twice.
With his Moon progressing through the ninth house of his birthchart, Jimmy Carter campaigned successfully for the governorship of Georgia. He broke up the old routines of his life, daring to enter unknown and alien existential territory. Whether you "break into politics" or "break into backpacking" doesn't matter; the point remains the same: you need to trust yourself enough to undertake some activity you have never attempted before. For you, at this point in your lunar cycle, boredom is the ultimate foolishness.

Let me know if the interpretation works for you .
