Hey everyone, since there has been alot of talk lately about placements in the houses, how about a thread about the 1st house? Whats there and how does it effect or make you feel? With me I have Mars in Cancer in the 1st house. It makes me feel like any anger I have goes in to the emotions(like I cry when I am angry)I feel both at the same time usually. There are also time when I find myself being passive aggressive, which is something I try to be aware of and not to do. And the most difficult of all is where I tend to get easily attached to places and the memories that occurred(this is silly but when my favorite bar closed down and they knocked it down with a bulldozer, I just stood there looking at the rubble and I actually broke down and cried over a stupid building)!

That must've been tough =( - I've had the same reaction to things I've taken for granted around suddenly going away.

My "saving grace" is my 1st house sun-jupiter conjunct. It gives me hope and enough intention to cope when my 'weak' planets quit (moon and mercury in the 12th and venus and mars in pisces). Most of the time my hopes turn to disappointments but I won't dare give in to the insanity and hopelessness of these other planets. So in a nutshell, that conjunction's been working to keep me alive for quite some time now.

I have Venus in my 1st House and it makes me very image-conscious. Maybe to the point of being self-conscious of how I look, supersensitive to who sees me without make-up on, things like that. I want to look pretty but it's a struggle to achieve that, so it can be rather challenging. I've actually given up at this point lol. Even though it's in Aries, I'm not really a Venus in Aries kind of girl. So sometimes I don't know what all it does.

Hmmm, I have Venus conj the Asc in the 1st, but hardly ever wear makeup and when I do it's very minimal. I spend more time on my hair....like 5 seconds What I do have trouble with is deciding what the heck to wear! I'll try on 20 different outfits trying to find the right look for whatever my mood happens to be that day.

I'm not exactly sure what the Sun, Mercury and Neptune are doing in my first house. I find I like to daydream and meditate, but not sure what else it may influence.

I always wonder about the 1st house. I have Scorp Asc/Conj Uranus, and Neptune in the 1st house in Sag... I am very Self conscious of how I look, Won't leave the house with out makeup, and I have a hair obsession, I like to look good when I leave the house and I'm even considering Plastic surgery (An Augmentation and Lift More for the lift factor) I only started getting obsessive about this the last year or so because of weight gain and loss has really put my body through the ringer. I also have Virgo on my MC and I wonder if that has something to do with it, as in having to look perfect. I don't know. I am slightly over weight from becoming pregnant (no live children though) and hormones going through so much. I don't know but I think I shared to much Info LOL Sorry about that. I just like hearing other's about the 1st house, as It interests me a lot!

Taurus80, I know that having Sun in 1st house is suppose to give you a strong vibrant personality that shows through to others. There are alot of TV people and movie stars with that placement. I'd say Sun in 1st house is a really good placement, as for the other planets you mentioned I am not to sure what they bring to life in 1st house.

The wierd thing is, even though I'm self-conscious about my appearance, I'm not always to the same extent. Like lately I don't care cause I've given up trying to look pretty. But sometimes, it's really depressing trying to be pretty.
As for the outfit thing, I have that problem too! I can't prepare an outfit the night before because in the morning I never feel like wearing it anymore lol. It's irritating!

mmmm I have the Mars in the 1st too…and damn is it hard to control. I explode with no warning, many have been hurt through my…urrr anger - luckily I’m surrounded by masochists

But seriously, it’s tough. Not sure if it’s possible to control it…maybe sooth it? Anyway, it‘s in Aries.
My childhood was filled with temper tantrums…tears and harsh words - good times

Venus is also in the 1st…does it make me charming? Mars put an end to that. But it does make me indecisive…on occasions. And I love peace, love and beauty…oh so Venus.

My Sun is almost in the 1st, but it fit’s the 12th house discription better

hmmmm tho sometimes…my big head does make me wonder..

I have Pallas conjunct ascendant in 1st and eros hanging in there at 23 degrees. When soemthing doesn't go as planned, I totally freak out, and i have to admit I am extremely paranoid, more socially than ever. Does Eros (in Virgo) in the 1st house mean I appear more sexual than the average person?

Lol I'm on the Pisces Cusp with Pisces Rising sextile Neptune, I think that's where the indecisiveness comes from. There other heavy Neptune/Pisces influences as well.

I have Neptune & Uranus in my 1st house. Even though my sun is in Virgo, I've always felt more like a Pisces. I'm very disorganized, messy, and forgetful... I also tend to daydream a lot! I love all kinds of people, and do not like conflict at all, even though I have my moon & venus in Scorpio. I think that having Uranus in my 1st just makes me less tolerant of being bossed around... I hate when people tell me what to do. I also need a certain amount of freedom in relationships.

Are all those your aspects to your ascendant? Cause that's a ton. I only have Neptune sextile my Ascendant and Pluto trine my Ascendant. But Venus also squares my Neptune so it might put an emphasis on my 1st House Venus and my Pisces Ascendant.

I know it is alot, I had to look at my chart twice to make sure it was that many to the Ascendant, but I really only pay attention to my Mars mostly. The Venus you have going on with the Neptune can be romantic and dreamy though, but sometimes it can tricky.

I have Chiron conj AC in Aries opp. Sun, Merc, and Uranus. I think Chiron in Aries makes me impatient but I'm not sure how to interpret the oppositions.

Libraschoice7, when you have that many planets in conjunction what effect does that have on you? I know conjs are focal points of your chart but what happens when you combine that many influences in one house/sign/element?
If a planet aspects one planet in that "clump" are they all affected?

The reason I'm asking is b/c I have five planets conj. my DC.

WaterNymph - I also had tons of temper tantrums as a child with Aries rising but my Mars does not aspect my Chiron or AC. But... it IS in conj with Merc, Uran, Sun, DC, and Pluto which three of the above are opp AC.

So do all of these planets oppose my first house?

Sorry if those are stupid questions but I'm just learning.

I'm very confused.

IndySysv, don't worry questions are always welcome around here. Sometimes I feel like there is aptitude in various professions, but with all the planets, it gets real confusing sometimes(unsure which planet is currently at work). I only hope it would make me multi-talented. As far as oppositions, I think it has to do with projection on to others and relationships and the planets that are concerned. I am still an amateur in astrology, someday mabe expert. Someone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I am a dreamer and romantic, but I'm cynical too. It's strange, because I don't really want to be a romantic. Romance has been a touchy subject ever since I knew what romance was and it's still probably the one think I don't want to think about or talk about. Maybe that's the square?

I have Sun in the 1st house. It is a special place to have your sun in. I almost always stand out in any crowd that I am in. I know that I send of this strong vibe, I see it. The fact that I am Pisces too does help. My Kick boxing coach told me that when I enter the room I smack ppl in the face with my presence. He is talking about the men. I see that too though. I also have mercury in the 1st house which I have seen good things with that too..
