Offering a different interpretation is going to generally be accepted just fine. People don't mind additional interpretations of things.Disagreeing with people and going as far as saying they're wrong will only start an argument. Tim may teach beginning astrology, but that doesn't mean he has no knowledge beyond what he teaches. (He's a Virgo to the -enth degree for goodness sake) I'd suggest taking a less authoritarian tone, and simply offering alternate or expanded views on things. IP: Logged |

acoustic, you are such a trouble makerI never implied that Tim only knows the "basics" I said this is where his stregnth is, teaching the basics. there are all kinds of astrologers out there and we all excel in different fields. My strong point happens to be with Karmic Astrology (and that doesn't mean that I don't know the basics) and for your information I respect Tim (I just don't agree on this point) as usual you don't know what you're talking about go spew somewhere else instead of giving (unwanted) advice you should take it and use it. So sorry Sue I have a real problem with acoustic and our "misinformation" issuesI had to dig deep to share that story but I felt this house could better be understood with this example of how Scorpio, the 8th house and Pluto work. for those of you who don't understand the lala/acoustic problem please ignore it. all my best love, Lynda

Lynda,To clarify my posting: You said: quote: ...acoustic, this is wrong " Placements in the 8th indicate that you may be transformed through sex"...
I thought describing a standard description of the 8th house as "wrong" was possibly misleading for those new to astrology. So I pointed out that for some the 8th house can be interpreted this way. As Peri mentioned with her examples, this is NOT the case for EVERYbody, but some seem to be able to "tap into" sex as transformation/power. It was not my intention to "side" with any person, but to clarify an astrological point of view shared by many astrologers. You also said: quote: ...Why my co-moderator has chosen to countermand me on a public board is not clear...
In looking up the definition of countermand I found it means "a contrary command cancelling or reversing a previous command". I wasn't aware I had been "commanded" to do anything or that I was "commanding" anyone to do anything. I was simply pointing out that AG had a valid point which could help SOME people interpret their 8th house. As you said my "...stregnth lies in Basic astrology and teaching..." and the best lessons I have learned are from being able to accept those who have astrological opinions that differ from mine...or from accepting an astrological correction when I posted something that wasn't precisely accurate according to accepted astrological rules. And this has NOTHING to do with your abilities as an astrological teacher. Your astrological lessons are well-written, well-linked, and your answers are precise and helpful to others. As the many grateful replies from the people you have helped show, you do good astrological work with others. I respect your astrological abilities and do not take part in the flame games that break out from time to time on astrology (and other) grouplists. I would not have replied to this mini-flame war except for the fact that it seems my posting and the reason for my posting has been greatly misunderstood. Clarifying, Tim IP: Logged |
