ARIESPINK, what you described sounds exactly like my brother and me...we are both scorpio risings. I have saturn conjunct my scorpio ascendant, and my brother is a cap sun! To be honest, I don't think we're a friendly looking bunch at first glance. I have an aries moon, so the mood changes when you start talking to me. My brother has a libra moon, and he too loosens up when he's comfortable.IP: Logged |

I find Scorpio Rising people to be very cautios and very quiet when I first meet them as if they are afraid to open up until they begin to know you more. Can I ask if you and your brother have dark features as I have read that people with Scorpio Rising usually have dark hair and dark eyebrows etc.Can anyone tell me about Pisces Rising what they are like. I have Pisces Rising. On first meeting people I tend to be kind of shy and reserved. I usually wait for people to come and talk to me. Unfortunately, people sometimes perceive this as arrogance. But I am really not arrogant. It just takes a little while before I feel comfortable and open up to people.
When I was a child I was painfully shy. I wouldn't talk to anyone but my parents or my closest friends. Growing up I learnt that being shy is not exactly something that makes your life easier. So, I learnt to put my shyness aside on certain occasions and be more open and self-confident. Although it still isn't easy for me to make the first move and approach people.IP: Logged |

I have a Saturn-afflicted Cancer ascendent, and that gives a bit of a sh*t first impression to people. I think i come across as cold, distant, shy, sensitive, emotionally crippled, unfriendly, lifeless, and perhaps arrogant.
But when people get to know me it's virtually the opposite.------------------

MCM,My oldest son is a Cancer and from what he tells me, I think he would agree with all you said about the impression people first have of him. Same thing applies to him, he is the opposite of that. Is it true that your ascendent is how people perceive you? Most people do guess that I am a Cancer which is why I ask.

I have a Cancer Rising and people have to told me they thought I was arrogant and intimidating before they were friends with me. Approaching someone isn't hard for me, but my self-confidence isn't consistent. Depending on my mood and day I can withdraw or be more outgoing. I definitely have the crazy lunar laughs when I'm in a good mood.  I know a Virgo Rising who was very shy at first...even though he was an aqua sun and aries moon/mars. I went up to him and got his number, but after hanging out with him for a while...I became shy and he more confident... A Scorpio Rising with Virgo Sun/Leo Moon did not have trouble approaching me in class. I think his Leo Moon helped... Taurus/Scorpio/Cancer IP: Logged |

I'm pretty guarded. I like to see what people are like before I start revealing anything to them. I have a taurus ascendant and an aqua sun. I can be pretty friendly, but I always want to see if people can be trusted and what their agenda is.I like to figure people out first. This may have to do with my pluto in the 5th and my moon and venus in the 8th. My saturn in the 12th is the handle of the bucket. It is almost a singleton because it's the only planet on the left side of my chart. It makes me very standoffish at first for the same reasons the planets in the 8th do. Honestly, I think I am just very cautious. ------------------

I would say Capricorn rising when they are young. It's not until they hit middle age that Saturn, the lord of time, starts to give them a friendlier appearanceAlso, some Scorpio rising people can appear unfriendly and guarded I would also think some Aries rising types would even act belligerent with a chip on their shoulder. "I'm a leo rising but I get the same thing, though I am an Aqua sun and virgo moon. I do have Pluto squaring my ascendant and sun though, so that could be it. My friend used to joke that I look like I'm about to murder somebody lol. People used to have this tendency to find me culpable when I was purely innocent. They always thought I pulled off the pranks when a friend or someone else had done it and guys have thought I'm domineering! It's crazy because it's totally contrary to my nature! And teachers would call on me assuming I was up to something... Otherwise, people never find me approachable, some even apologise profusely for happening to have brushed my shoulder or touched me by accident. It's funny but it's pretty sad because I'm not as mercurial or combustible, or frigid or spiteful as they think. If anything, once in a while, I attract some annoying stalker whom I'm too polite to shake off. "I can DEFINATELY relate to that. I'm an aqua with leo rising too. If one of my friends is victim to a joke, their first instinct may often be yelling at me saying "WHAT DID YOU DO!?" I've also been told to have this hateful look in my eyes sometimes. Scares the hell out of people! Several people have told me I should be in a horror movie because if I try, I really am capable of freaking them out by scaring the hell out of them. I get the annoying stalker part too. I get those, and I'm also to kind to shake them off. Or well, I try, but they just don't get it. With these people I can scream and shout all I want, telling them just how little I like them, but they just don't get it. They think I'm joking!!! A big problem for me actually that is. Some people tend to think I'm arrogant, but it's just because they don't know me. Guess it's got allot to do with the fact that I often simply drift away. I would have to say cappy, scorp and to a lesser extent cancer.I have found virgo ascendants do have good communication skills and interesting personalities. Sag, Aries and leo ascendants are usually always warm and outgoing. (I particularly love sag ascendants). Gemini, pisces and libra are nice friendly rising signs. Taurus rising reminds me of a flower. Aquarius rising are hard to pick, probably the biggest random bunch of people.

definitely Cancer rising.My Scorpio sun, Cancer rising and Cancer moon friend is constantly flaking on me. She doesn't even call to tell me either. I thought a triple water sign would understand why I would be upset but she's too stubborn. She apologizes after I state my concern and then does it all over again!

P.S.Cancer rises do seem to size people up and/or pass judgment easily. Arrogant to some extent but judging sticks out like a sore thumb. I decided a perfect big 3 best friend for me would be: an Aquarius , Pisces rising and Cancer moon.
is it bad that i've thought about that?
& ARIESPINK, my extremely good friend, Aries sun, Scorpio asc and Aqua moon is very friendly. Although she can be very shy at times (Scorpio rising), she's very caring and nurturing to her friends.

ARIESPINK, sorry for such a late reply. But to answer your question, my brother and I do have the dark hair and eyebrows. However, we are quite fair in our complexions. I read that scorpio risings are often short (which I am) and somewhat stocky but my brother is pretty tall, he's about 6 feet with a slim build, kinda lanky. But he actually made another guy, who is very built (I dragged him to the gym with me to keep me company) and probably had about 3 inches on my brother, take a step back because his knees kind of gave out when my brother stared at him. It was really odd. He could have taken my brother out considering his physique, lol. IP: Logged | |
