I am well aware that you can conceive at any time during the 28 day or so cycle. My point was not that you can't conceive at other times of the month but that the mensutual cycle and the ovulation cycle are not diconnected or unrelated.
I've also read that you can ovulate twice a month on the phase of the moon you were born on and your regular ovulation day. Making it possible to get pregnant at any time in your cycle.

Hi William, no I've never gotten around to documenting my ovulation but I might start doing so. I just keep track of it in my head. I don't use any birth control, so there's nothing synthetic coursing around in my hormones.

I'm not sure astrologically how children show up other than the 5th house and looking at jupiter transits.

I have Nep in Sag 5th house and it took me a while to conceive. About a 9 year span it did. I've read that Nep in 5th can cause you to be come pregnant unexpectedly and it sure happened that way for me. I really thought I was infertile. At the time of conception the SUN was conjunct Jupiter in my 5th house and the Moon was transiting Jupiter. I have the supposed barren aspects in my chart.

About the 5th house cusp and your child's rising sign works in my case. My son's dad has his Libra on the 5th house cusp and my son is an Aries w/a Libra rising. Dad also has Mars 5th house -- Aries Sun.
