Our new Moderator Lalalinda started an argument with me in the thread titled "Tell me something good about Saturn transits":lalalinda Moderator Posts: 1888 From: nevada Registered: Jun 2005 posted March 11, 2007 03:19 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Saturn opposite Mercury should make you more concise with your language. I have it natally.)...acoustic -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- thats what Saturn opposite Mercury in the natal means?? You're sure about that?? If it was just you acoustic, I wouldn't even bother but you confuse others with your guesses. http://www.astrologyweekly.com/astrological-aspects/mercury-opposition-saturn.php quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Astrology aspects - Mercury opposition Saturn The opposition from Mercury to Saturn shows that you are strongly opinionated and defensive. You have considerable intellectual ability and can accomplish any goal you set for yourself. You may be inclined to bend the truth in order to get your way with people, but people are more discerning than you realize and often are aware of your deceptions. In this way you will lose friends, which can make you depressed when you are alone. An isolationist to begin with, you alienate your few associates with your criticism and scheming. All this adds up to the fact that you must learn to mind your own business and have respect for the privacy of others. Don't assume that other people think a certain way and then complain because they don't think that way --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
edited to add: Saturn trined Mercury better describes "concise". http://www.astrologyweekly.com/astrological-aspects/mercury-trine-saturn.php quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your conservative mentality allows you to accomplish a great deal with the least amount of effort. You are extremely efficient and know how to dispense with nonessentials --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the opposition there is tension. Sometimes you just have to change your ways because compromise is not an option. )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))------------------------------------------- I responded with numerous interps including and starting with one from william. If Lalalinda did delete it that's completely unfair. There was someone harassing a person in the mothering thread, not long ago. None of his posts were deleted. I was so angry I didn't even reply to that, then finally Randal kicked him. If people who seriously cause strife don't have anything deleted for days, but someone who is simply replying to Lalalinda has their post deleted.. that's very unreasonable. Are you absolutely sure she deleted it though? IP: Logged |

Well, I was emailed by someone who saw what I wrote, so I do have confirmation that it was posted. I didn't call names, or any of the other things that people generally get into trouble for around here. The only person with motive for it to disappear is her. I'm reconstructing my post from memory right now. It mostly consisted of different interpretations than the one she chose in an effort to defame me. IP: Logged |

Hey AG, if everything happened exactly as you said (and I have no reason to second guess you, I'm staying neutral), then that is completely unacceptable. Totally unfair and arbitraryIP: Logged |

Why don't you just admit you were wrong acoustic? That would be the mature thing to do.First you post inaccurate astrology information on this forum..which is the astrology forum. When you're corrected...as lalalinda says...because you might confuse others here, you post a pithy response. And what is there to respond to? Lalalinda posted the correct interpretation for Mercury opposed Saturn which contradicts your assertion that this aspect tends to conciseness. She went further to clarify Mercury/Saturn aspects by posting the interpretation for Mercury trine Saturn...which IS the aspect tending to conciseness through efficiency and the ability to dispense with nonessentials...the one you don't have. Now acoustic, it seems to me that when someone gives you a lesson in a discipline of interest to you, the proper response is... Thank you. Instead, you start a defensive campaign of vilification here and perhaps another campaign of backbiting emails to and from your support group. The accuracy of the information lalalinda posted about Mercury opposed Saturn...the aspect you say you have...is borne out in your actions here. "The opposition from Mercury to Saturn shows that you are strongly opinionated and defensive". IP: Logged |

I wasn't wrong Jwhop. Have a read before you attempt to post for once, would you? quote: First you post inaccurate astrology information on this forum..which is the astrology forum. When you're corrected...as lalalinda says...because you might confuse others here, you post a pithy response.
First, I posted accurate information which happened to be information given to me by another astrologer [william] here. Second, it's not Linda's job to correct anyone, and it's certainly not her job as Moderator to start an argument. If she'd simply provided a different interp it would be one thing, but she did what your friend Pidaua HATES, which is attempting to use someone's chart against them. This is highly irrational behavior from a Moderator. quote: Now acoustic, it seems to me that when someone gives you a lesson in a discipline of interest to you, the proper response is...Thank you.
This wasn't a lesson I'm afraid. This was an opportunist attempt to try to get one over on me. I don't go for that. Neither do you, so don't be a hypocrite by suggesting advise you'd never take yourself. IP: Logged |

There is no such thing as *inaccurate* astrological information. Different people have had different experiences with certain aspects and they are allowed to state whatever they like about those aspects.JW, I'm sorry but this is just low. I have no idea why you'd post this. Are you just trying to cause more of an argument? IP: Logged |

Hi jwhop, Lalalinda posted ONE of the MANY different interpretations offered for that particular aspect..... A direct quote from a book by David Pond called "Mapping Your Romantic Relationships" Chapter 12 "Mercury Aspects In Your Chart" Page 63....Which is right in front of me.....<<This aspect can make you overly cautious in expressing yourself. Your early experiences in life probably didn't promote self-confidence, resulting in a fear of disapproval so strong that it restricts your freedom of expression. It is important to battle through this fear of failure or disapproval, or it will limit your belief in what is possible for you. Try to avoid investing in what others think of you, and instead internalize authority in your life and demonstrate some mental discipline.>> This is a different, but EQUALLY valid interpretation for Mercury Opp Saturn. People are allowed to have differences of opinion. Or do you feel that David Pond is completely wrong? BTW, am not part of anyone's support group..... Hugs Melindy IP: Logged |

1. What AG posted wasn't a 'wrong' interpretation, it was an ALTERNATE interpretation.2. A post can't be deleted just because a moderator feels that it is a 'wrong' interpretation and it would 'confuse' others here. wrong or right, everyone deserves freedom of speech.

This seems more personal..and personal reasons must not be allowed to be reason for deleting someones post. People are constantly interpreting aspects in different ways. If AG's posts were deleted, then why stop with only AG's interpretations? IP: Logged |

Hey guys instead of arguing as to why she might have done something why not just ask her? Maybe she had a reason for deleting it. Maybe she didn't delete it. Who knows. There have been a number of glitches in a system> I am not saying this is one but in the case it is we weould all feel rather bad at that point. Just ASK------------------ Sun-Gemini Moon-Scorpio ASC-Libra IP: Logged |

Even if Lala disagreed with it...she really shouldn't have deleted the post. Its like someone mentioned about the "mothering thread" where the posts by the offender there were much worse but how come they didn't get deleted? IP: Logged |

they were extremely offensive. yes, i know it's "just the internet", but it would be hard not to be angered and get your feelings very hurt when someone spitefully attacks you as a parent. the posts should have been deleted. IP: Logged |

That's what I'm saying. Those posts on the mothering thread were not deleted (that were much worse) but AG's post about a mercury-saturn oppostion were? It would be one thing to disagree with what AG said, but to go ahead and delete it? Ehhh.....
