venus de milo - i know exactly what you mean! not so much with asteroids, but i've experienced it several times & witnessed it many times on this board, where people ask a specific question and get an answer that's outside the scope of the question. and i know i've given responses that aren't exacctly what the op had asked about. i guess it comes down to people finding their own meaning in the question & not agreeing on what's relevant. i've actually seen you given asteroid info before when it's not what you had asked about, & you responded graciously while still being clear that you weren't looking for that info. i suppose a preemptive "let's please exclude asteroids from this discussion" would do the trick, but who knows. like acoustic god pointed out, some of us are just addicted & need our fix. but i hope that does stop, i would be annoyed too if it was often the same subject that people would answer my q's with when i'm not even asking about that subject.
