Some people sees astrology as a fortune-telling tool (rather than a tool for broadening their knowledge), and they seek a kind ensurance for their relationships from destiny. For the people who thinks in this way:

1 - astrology can only tell you about the potentials - an astrologer that tells you "it's sure that it or that will happen" is a money leecher. :P

2 - nothing is life can be granted (and maybe that's why things are more precious ^_^ ).

3 - even a good synastry can't fight against immaturity and confusion.. and even a bad synastry can be worked out by maturity and devotion.. ^_^ (where's that famous quote that is about this!)

4 - astrology is just a tool to help you to understand your relationship. but it is your heart that truly understands how your relationship is going. ^_^

Btw, I also believe in fate/destiny.. But personally, I think that it takes more aspects/things to really consider a synastry fated. For example, for me, Saturn aspects are more about a person's seriousness in a relationship rather than karmic. So from those aspects I can only conclude that the Saturn person's seriousness is affected by the other person.
So what is really karmic? For example, when you have lotsa small details that shows karma - like having syanstry aspects such as tight SN conjunctions, tight asteroids aspects, etc., and maybe also having karmic aspects in the composite (composites depends a lot on the ascendants of the couple for the houses overlay for example) and in the progressed charts (it's hard to find someone that for example has their progressed ascendant exactly opposed to yours).

This one??

From Steven Forrest: http://www.stevenforrest.com/lovehandles.html

To me, in the realities of the astrological counselling room, there are
two immutable premises:

There is no manner of astrological interaction between two people that
is so inherently sweet that enough selfishness, confusion about sex, or
immaturity cannot turn it sour.

There is no manner of astrological interaction between two people that
is so inherently bitter that enough patience, devotion, and humility can
not only make it last, but make it something precious to both people.

lol Patrik don't worry about skits.

Who cares, so you made a 'mistake' thread.

Welcome to the site

Chill for a second.

About the other thread. People will disagree with certain things, it's only natural.
Post what you like.. as long as it isn't offensive.

I don't like the idea of noobies being "intimidated".. so for All Noobies - Please don't take things said in humor or people disagreeing with something you said as 'intimidation'..
Disagreements can start everywhere.. not just with new members. If you look at past threads.. I'm sure you'll find plenty of disagreements between 'older' knowflakes.

HSC, BuD, 26 - That getting dictracted line is a paraphrase of something dave foley from kids in the hall said. i love him.
can't find the skit it's from, but this one he did has a similar theme: http://youtube.com/watch?v=P2jtu3hDhMU
this isn't dave, but it's one of my all-time favorite KITH skits. http://youtube.com/watch?v=sGk25WwW3h4
the best line is after he says "impotent." i try to work it into as many conversations as possible. it's a big hit in job interviews after they ask you to tell them something about yourself, for example.

xodian - newbie is a relative term & i see that you're month newer than me. watch your back.

Ok, what the hell have I missed while I've been cut off from civilization? I've been hopping up and down the East Coast (long story) and haven't had stable internet connection for days and I come back to see some really strange threads.

26 - how appropriate, i have an air singleton involving my chart ruler, good ol' pluto. i will blame my dark humor ( & occassional murder sprees) on that.
