BYour grunge theory holds not water... Kurt Cobain, incase you do not know, is one of the kings of grunge, was a high Fish...great amounts of the child of Neptune in him... Are you bored or something? IP: Logged |

I thought Kurt Cobain was Aquarius. Although he did have the clothes and the get-up-and-go of a Pisces.------------------ 4th December 1974 18:00GMT Isle of Wight U.K marsconjunctmercury@yahoo.co.uk neutralcruiser@hotmail.co.uk IP: Logged |

MCM,
quote: Now why doesn't that surprise me!
First off, you used the wrong punctuation, that's should be a question mark not an exclamation point.
Secondly, explain yourself: IMO, the grunge era produced some good artists (like Nirvana for one). Whatever substance-less music you listen to can't even hold a candle. IP: Logged |

Grunge is the negative octave of uplifting music. I believe in futuristic atmospheric house / dance / trance etc. Music that has a more than one dimension - the dimension of wanting to kill your parents and yourself whcih is grunge. I only want to kill one of my parents so i don't listen to it.Edit: I did actually like Nirvana though, and i thought Kurt Cobain was cool. That guy who was his drummer who is now (pretending to be) a singer is a talentless tw@t. ------------------ 4th December 1974 18:00GMT Isle of Wight U.K marsconjunctmercury@yahoo.co.uk neutralcruiser@hotmail.co.uk IP: Logged |

Have you seen Dave Ghrol live, MCM? I saw him only 3 weeks ago. He's a great performer and far from talentless. Fair enough if you don't like his music, but any man who can play several instruments well, sing live and write all of his own material is extremely talented in my book. And Belgz - there's really no need to put all people in the same category. You may dislike grunge (and grungers, at that) but would you still insult me if I liked some of the same music as you? (And I bet somewhere along the line, I do, as I have pretty broad taste). Cors i haven't i'm not that sad! He's rubbish. I like a person who does one thing brilliantly (i.e, Jimmy Hendrix / Slash), not does everything mediocrily like that w@nker Dave Grohl------------------ 4th December 1974 18:00GMT Isle of Wight U.K marsconjunctmercury@yahoo.co.uk neutralcruiser@hotmail.co.uk IP: Logged |

Now Jimi is a god, but I still wouldn't call Ghrol mediocre, or a w*nker at that! Granted, I happen to think that the Foo Fighters current drummer is actually better than Ghrol was when he played drums for Nirvana, but sometimes you gotta love a jack of all trades - especially when you see the uplifting effect they have when they play live! I think every one of us is entitled to our own musical tastes. The over-generalizing needs to stop!!You can't claim that "everyone" who listens to grunge is one way or another(nor are ALL members of a certain Sun sign one way or another). We're all just people with our own unique tastes, strengths, and weaknesses. No one is better or worse than anyone else based on silly stuff like musical tastes or what sign they chose to incarnate under.------------------ S:Taurus ASC:Gemini M:Scorpio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Be Kinder Than Necessary,For Everyone You Meet Is Fighting Some Kind of Battle..." I think Grohl's a great drummer. That's why he's been asked to sit in on lots of bands outside of Nirvana. A couple of the bands I know of that he drummed for are Tom Petty and Queens of the Stone Age. His ability to step out of Nirvana's shadow, and create his own thing was no small task either. Generally only singers can walk away from highly successful bands and create their continued stardom.Grunge is far superior to house/dance/trance as well. House/dance/trance is soulless. It may be happy, but it's completely superficial. May as well listen to the Spice Girls. Pop shite is what I'd categorize it as. IP: Logged |

Hmmm, House, dance and Trance? Just as I suspected; you do listen to music with no substance. Now I'm not saying I have a problem with these genres but all they're really good for is dancing at the club....its happy-feelgood music that is very superficical, you can't listen to it on a regular basis without it grating on your nerves (especially since they repeat one line throughout the entire song). That type of music doesn't make you think deeper like grunge does, so it can't hold a candle to it. And since you don't know good music where do you get the authority to call Dave Grohl talentless?
