My MC is ruled by Mars... I have Sun, Merc, and Mars in Taurus in my 10th... I also have Sun conj MC.

I have Venus in Gemini in my 11th. Venus and Merc are in mutual reception...

I'm in publishing... first started with elementary-level educational publishing where I wrote and edited materials... just started a job as a Production Editor at a medical pub company about a month ago. Wish I could freelance full-time though. My aspects always say I aim to be the boss of ppl. Not true... ideally, I just want to work independently. My 12th-house Moon doesn't like overwhelming office environments. A corporate office is the best place to go if you want to see full-grown adults act more cartoonish than the young ppl (interns).

*SeeingStars: I suggest lots of aloe vera.

Gem. Venus and Chiron [both in the 10th] conjuncting my MC [in Gemini]

And i'm an English teacher. Surprise surprise.

Chiron conjunct Midheaven
Comfortable playing the martyr, you enjoy being the one upon whom everyone relies. The first to lend an ear or a helping hand to those in need, you love being appreciated for the work you do. When you experience defeat or humiliation, you not only demand empathy but also want everyone to identify with your suffering. Rallying for causes you believe in makes you a great teacher, political leader, lawyer or lobbyist.

That's spot on O_O

Well my Venus in my 6th house, and my 6th house is ruled by Taurus, so I always thought of that as influencing how I need my workplace to be - ie nice with nice things to look at, music playing. I also had an early interest in being involved in music, that would explain how I ended up in music retail and writing CD reviews. Also with Taurus ruling my 6th, I'm a Taurus sun in the 5th and so I'm happiest when my work involves some kind of creativity. My MC is Leo, and so once again my sun in 5th plays a big part. I was a teacher working with younger kids for a while and that was fun.

I know what you mean my 5th house sun has almost the same effect on me.

The time almost goes by when your working on something creative... I use to just suck at tradtional art.. i'm still not the best... but as long as your having fun at it and spend less time criticizing yourself.. you'll do fine..

If i spent less time yelling at my tradional drawing skills and devloped them, i whould have ended up in 3D animation. You don't have to be the best at drawing, just good enought to sketch whats on your mind.

But back then I whould just get angry if it didn't turn out to exactly what i wanted.

I heard the closest aspect to the MC also highly defines the career choice. My closest MC aspect is a square from Neptune. I want to work with marketing movies, sports, events, music, art, and entertainment (Neptune's realm). Venus also rules my 5th house.

We should analyze this....thiiiiis way, we'd get more out of it :-) Just a suggestion.

So, since I have pluto conjunct midheaven, then I should choose pluto-type careers?

I think Midheaven is a good indicator but there are others too. Mine is Virgo, Mercury is ruled by Gemini and I get along with liberal open minded people. I work well with people I like.

I know a lot of people who also are kind of absent minded about their career, something about air planets there does that.

Pluto is there too and currently I am in the health field:> I recommend it because you always have respect for your paycheck. I have worked in real estate, government, finance, media, technology. I even modeled for a time and did well. I put that down to the moon in Cancer.

I plan to buy into a technology company soon that services the legal and medical fields. This combines my Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto, all aspecting my tenth house.

Problem is my friends and I with Gemini, Virgo, or Aquarius on the 10th, it's easy to get along with others too well.

I like bartending which is not a Virgo thing. I want to open a sports bar. Maybe that's Venus in Aries.

So true lol.. I don't exactly need people to identify with my situation, but I do want them to (try to) understand how I feel, and I hate to be plainly judged/criticized when I have a moody moment, coz whenever others have a moody moment, I also try to be understanding (as long as they aren't being too pessimistic or dramatic).. and I do this coz I think that everyone has bad moments from time to time, and even if some worries might seem unreasonable and unimportant to others (and even to that person himself/herself, when he/she doesn't feel down anymore), right in that moment, those worries might be quite a big deal for that person. And I want others to understand this and be fair as well.. :P

But back to the topic, I have Gemini MC, and I'm thinking of a job in which I can always keep learning.. I also want something that allows me to use my mind.. I guess that I'd never survive in boring and meaningless jobs..
With my AC in Virgo, I also have good organizing skills and I'm good at details. And with it forming a grand trine with Mars and Neptune, I need an ideal to defend/work for, and I can be really passionate and persistent about what I really like/believe.
My MC and AC ruler is the same (Mercury), and it is in the 8th house Aries, along with my Sun/Moon/Venus.. I'm very interested in psychology, and I'm also good at taking care of other people's things.. :P
Lastly, Saturn is opposed to my MC.. I wonder if it means "running away from responsibilities" lol.. ^_~;

Interestingly, thethirdbenjamin... I used to do computer programming when I was at school because I liked creating things that way as well as the logical and technical aspect of it. But it got repetitive and boring for me, so I ended up studying a lot of Arts subjects at university. How funny that you did television... I used to love creating (scripting, shooting and editing) home videos. Just never went down the right road to study it or make a career out of it.

venus in sagittarius - jack of all trades, master of none and i definitely like that. meet lots of different people, been working since i was 13 - none of the jobs i've had have anything to do with the other. worked at a ymca, then a music camp, then book distributor, then a movie theater, then a jeweler, then an insurance company, then with attorneys for the county, then a non-profit agency, then a construction/environmental company - that isn't including my hobbies and things i've had to do to get by.

lol - figures

Venus in Aquarius - lawyer (but maybe that has more to do with my Mercury and Jupiter in Sag in the ninth house!) But I do have to say that the only type of work that interests me is public-service type stuff...you know, all in the name of the public good! I'd sooner put a gun to my head than do corporate law!!! lol

Venus in Scorpio

I love research and am on my way to grad school for primate behavior research.

I'm also very interested in analyzing other people and figuring them out.

yfis, funny how we Venus Scorps are into alternative health. Kinesiology and cranio-sacral therapy have been a big interest of mine as well. I guess I just love the whole pampering your body 'cause you only have one thing even though I smoke. Ridiculous isn't it?

Hmm, 6th house is Aries for me. I guess alternative health could fall into the "pioneering" area. The sixth has to do with being of service, or so I thought. I've already figured out this is a serve or suffer lifetime, and I'm more happy being of service and helping others any way I can.

Hmm, the MC. Leo. Nothing in Leo but some asteroids of which I know nothing about. I think Vesta is one of them.
Do we look for the closest planet approaching the MC or moving away from it? Does it matter?? If not, then the closest to my MC would be Pluto in Virgo in the 11th. Isn't Virgo another sign of "service"? Not sure what color the 11th house would put on that. I get myself confused when I try to figure these out.

Alanabelle and AG are right on...

My Venus in Aries has nothing to do with my career choice...with the small exception of the ruler of Venus, my Mars in Scorpio, being in my second house. I did make some money in the health industry (a gym) for a few years. It mostly has to do with working out defining my self image.

My MC is in Cancer and the closest planet is Jupiter (exact conjunction) and I'm a teacher. It fits perfectly. My sun (in Pisces) is also in the 5th house where it fits that I'm teaching young children, and Neptune rules my 6th. There ya have it. Venus won't have anything to do with your career all by it's lonesome.

Aqua...since your 6th is Aries, check out where Mars is in your chart...the sign it's in and the aspects.

Your Pluto in Virgo being the closest aspect to your MC would make perfect sense to be in a healing profession...but Alana will have to answer the question about the orb factor. Seems like it works to me.

Venus in Scopio here. I have a stellium with Sun, Mercury, Venus and Neptune in the 10th in Scorpio.

I was a hairstylist for a long time and enjoyed it. I decided to go back to school because it didn't challenge me at all.

So now I'm graduating next semester from college and hopefully getting into medical school next fall for Dentistry.

There's just something about the human body and chemistry that I love. I think it's because no one knows all the answers... And the fact that you can study something so small and apply that knowledge to other areas of science.

I forgot about the Wounded Healer, Chiron, retrograde in my 6th house. I've come to believe that is why I am so into using massage therapy in helping rape/molestation victims heal.

Whatever it is, there's nothing that compares to the feeling of purpose and satisfaction from knowing I was able to help another human or animal heal.

Sure sounds fitting to me, Aqua! It sounds like you're really fulfilling a spiritual purpose on this planet. The world could use a few more like ya!

One of my good friends is a Venus in Gemini (Libra decan) and her major was Film and Media studies! It makes sense, Film and Media studies is totally a Gemini thing. She has also worked as receptionist and secretary for a language school. This screams Gemini as well!

Venus in Gemini in the 10th house, conjunct Mercury
Sun in the 10th house also, conjunct Chiron.

In the past: an eternal student, daydreaming about being a clinician (mental health) or a sociologist.

Currently: working as an energy worker masquerading as a massage therapist and studying osteopathy. Looking forward to opening my own practice and doing some publishing work.

Very much considering writing a 'fictional' story about my life path, which has taken a considerable amount of winding turns.

Well my Venus in Virgo is the 9th house. I am going to school for teaching because not only do I have a passion for it, but it gives me the chance to travel. Every day is something new when you are a teacher. I do NOT do well with routines.

And i have few bloggs with wich i have made some money but i cant claim it yet from google because i have not made ENOUGH money xD ,i write about fashion in one and about health in other .

I daydream about publishing my books and becoming an actress, but if not that i daydream about becoming air attendant or to work for a highly immportant company as secretary where i'd earn lots of money xD I wanted to be fashion designer.

Oh yeah and i'd love to have my own fashion botiques,i just would love to be the boss - ... small pretty botique with beautifle dresses ,i wouldnt even mind having to work whole day there by myself ,just if i could only have one ,if economy didnt suck and taxes for small shops were not inflated

I dont know if all this that i have written coresponds with venus or not,my 6th house is in capricorn and has uranus and neptune there and 10th in Aries ...
